Tbh, the reason why any of natlan people wouldn't go outside of natlan is because they're interconnected to the wayob (which is practically a self-made ley line). It's supported when the children of murata left their home country (natlan), they receive memory problems to the point that they don't even remember their homeland, which ended up in Mondstadt

So you didn't mention it, and I literally have no clue what npc pipped up and told me this, but one of them specific said when asked 'Why don't people leave natlan?' that for 1 they see it as cowardly and insulting to ones ancestors to not stay and fight the abyss and that 2 the people of natlan are inherently cursed by the abyss to suffer disaster without the protection of the wyyob and that thier protection doesn't expend past the boarders of Natlan. When I read that my first thought was 'Oh hey, incredibly cursed things happening all the time, that kinda sounds like bennet!'

You know, there is a tribe that hasn't been mentioned yet in the Natlan story, being the Children of Murata, but we have heard about them way before 5.0 through the light novel. What if the Mare Jivari was the original home of the Children of Murata but through the events of the battle between Tenoch and the abyss it completely wiped out the majority of the tribe leaving ony Vanessa and the refugees in mondstat who escaped a long time ago and Bennett who was found in the aftermath.

The reason why he likely survived and received his vision was also because of something explained in his hangout. When Bennett is unconscious, his bad luck goes away. That’s why, in one of the endings, Bennett decides to eat a very bad egg he had cooked in hopes to save the Traveler and his old adventuring mate. Since Bennett had passed out due to his wounds, it is entirely possible his bad luck temporarily disappeared and he received a vision. The only problem with this though is it’s Bennett’s theory. It’s entirely possible he was wrong and something else was at play both times

This could also be a reason why the symbols of Natlan, like the oculi and the statue, both are broken in the same spot, which could be symbolic of a broken cycle or missing tribe. This was an interesting video, and voiced a lot of thoughts I've had about Bennett and his origins. 😊

Bennett was most likely not found in the Mare Jivari, as it's described as "A sea of ashes where the wind does not blow" and the poem where it tells the story of Bennett says the adventurer had to face hollering winds, contradicting the statement about winds not blowing in the Mare Jivari

What i believe is the cause of there being no winds in the Mare Jivari is most likely due to the abyss presence and the conflict that first created the Mare Jivari when Tenoch and the heroes fought the abyss there, at least it's what i believe. But what you said could be possible.

I was listening to a podcast(Norse mythology:the unofficial guide) that breaks down some of the surviving texts about Nordic deities. the Fischl from The Shattered Halberd(and implicitly Flowers for Princess Fischl) is the daughter of Irmin, who for simplicity sakes we'll call the Tree Father, and who's clearly an analogue of Odin, well known for having sacrifced one of his eyes for wisdom(thus, Eyepatch). i know i know, not about Fischl, but she's basically considered his closest, maybe only friend. another one covers Loki's association with fire. a key point there is not that he rules over it, or even uses it, just that he's repeatedly linked to it. we've literally got the two sides of Ragnarok as adventure buddies.

Now that we have Ororon, another abandoned Natlan Baby (now technically Bennett could've had caring parent/s and was the lone survivor of some circumstance but I digress) that could also give us a new avenue for Bennett lore. It's possible Bennett could've also been a baby born with an Incomplete Soul, which Citlali says can be considered a bad omen by some of the tribes and is probably why Ororon was abandoned... Maybe in Bennett's case the bad omen was more direct or the effects are amplified outside of Natlan explaining his bad luck? Or, it's crackpot theory time, this is some sh¡t straight out of Xenoblade and baby Bennett died in the Mare Jivari but some form of spirit/soul entered his corpse revitalizing him while the spirit now rests within him filling in the incomplete soul like how Gunthar attempted on Ororon when the Source Mechanisim weakened his soul, maybe babies' souls are that weak at such an early age? As well the Mare Jivari, the place where the winds don't blow to carry the dead away, would have no shortage of lingering souls as the site of a battle so brutal it withered the land itself... Now Crackpot phase 2, if 2 souls and a corpse managed to escape death that would be breaking the rules which Ronova definitely wouldn't approve of, so perhaps she is the one that's been attempting to kill Bennett all this time which is seen as bad luck appearing everywhere he goes (there's also the tidbit in other theories that imply Bennett himself is actually incredibly lucky so all the bad luck is balanced out, except for those caught in the crossfire)...

I HAVE A CRAZY THEORY: Bennet is actually the human reborn from Xabalanque. Remember he was reborn from the corpse of the Pyro sovereign. He now dons a Pheonix shaped head and even ascended to godhood. Bennet is his human side reborn separate. Kinda like how Focalor was able to create a new mortal person with Furina by separating the divine from the mortal.

Mavuika was hinted to be from the Scions of the Canopy in the Archon quest. A lost tribe would only make sense (to me) if there were actually two which would correspond to the 8 points of the Natlan sun emblem. But there was never a hint of a missing Natlan tribe, which would be visible in some way in as an obvious empty space when the tribes are depicted. A sea of ashes could come from erupting volcanos or severe forest fires, both of which seem far more likely than the remains of a phoenix civilization.

One random thing about bennett He has always reminded me of Kenny from South Park. Both feel like the universe is intentionally trying to kill them but in a strange way they always get back up again (Bennett is never hurt fatally, Kenny never dies permanently). Later on it's revealed that Kenny was actually cursed with cthulu magic as a baby and that's why he dies so much. I can totally see a similar thing happening to bennett where his bad luck gets cerebus retconed into being from natlan Also both characters could be seen as phoenixes since they often "die" (literally in kenny's case, figuratively in bennets case) but still get up and keep fighting. I just think this is a very interesting parallel

Bennett's charakter story 2 doesn't match Mare Jivari. Mare Jivari is Silent sea of Ashes where wind doesn't blow. Bennett's character story describes the place where he was found like this: "The scorching flames scalded his skin, THE DEAFENING THUNDER ALMOST RUPTURED HIS EARDRUMS, and the HOLLERING WINDS THREATENED TO RIP HIS SOUL from him." Which means place where Bennett was found was neither Windlass or silent.

This brings up a thought. What if he was the cause of the winds and such? Like we've been told in game, I think, that the remains of old gods mess with the environment, see inazuma with the Tartarasuna issues and orobashi's remains as well as in sumeru's desert and the big whirlwind there. If Bennett is a reincarnation as is theorized, it could have been that Stanley found him right as he was reincarnated thus the environment was still unstable. I'm not exactly sure how it would work, but it's a thought. 😅 But there is the other thought that the line of the wind not blowing there could be more symbolic of a place abandoned by the gods and not literally a place devoid of wind. It's a point that is up for debate until the area is actually released.

Interesting...but i also think how much that description of the Mare Jivari is true because in the Lavawalker set it describes that in the Mare Jivari the cries of the lone Phoenix could be heard which makes it not very silent. Also in the very same set it is said "The flaming sea will surely devour this arrogant young man and the sky will blow his ashes into the void" so there has got to be winds too right?

I just realized one thing, IF Bennet is native of Natlan, how he could left the Nation of Fire? We learned, finally, why we never encounter the people from Natlan in other nations: cuz the LeyLines of Natlan are weak and the people born there feel sick if they try to leave the Nation of Fire. Would that invalidate Bennet been borned in Natlan? Or am I missing something that could help him leave that place?

It's not that Natlanians (or Natlaneses, dunno) get sick, but they lose the protection/blessings of the Wayob, so anything bad that could happen to them will happen. Apparently it's one of the functions of the Leylines, but with Natlan's Leylines' state, the Wayob has to replace the Leylines for Natlan. Which is why Natlanians going outside of their country without the Wayob's authorization (like Bennet), are hit with extreme bad luck and really prone to die, as if the very world of Teyvat was rejecting them. The Wayob has to actively extend its protection to them outside of their borders and it's taxing and energy-demanding. Sorry, just a little theory of mine, don't read if not interested: This situation might also explain why the Primordial One had to plant the Irminsul in the first place (as the Leylines are Irminsul's roots): since humanity is basically an alien specie to Teyvat, maybe Teyvat's natural order tried to get rid of the first batch of humans that was created, prompting Phanes to plant the Irminsul in order to take control of said natural order and register humanity as an authorized specie in Teyvat. With Natlan's lack of Leylines, thus very low Irminsul connection, the Irminsul can't register humans born there, and so Teyvat doesn't recognise them, which is why the Wayob has to step in and take control of Natlan's natural order. This little theory would also explain why Venessa's tribe could stay alive even though they left Natlan millenias ago: they were born OUTSIDE of Natlan (unlike Bennet), and so their existences were registered by the Irminsul instead of the Wayob, which in turn prevented them to face the same lack of luck and disasters as Bennet.

Meanwhile place where Bennet was found is stated to have howling WINDS which were damaging skin of adventurer Every time people say Bennet is from Mare Jivari everyone ignores this

Natlan people are allowed to leave Natlan, but they get negative consequences of doing so, such as losing their memories (most likely because the ley-lines don’t exist in Natlan) baby Bennet had no memories to lose, so it’s very possible another quirk to leaving Natlan is being cursed. Bennet HAS to be from Natlan tho, he literally has the Natlan six pointed star as his ultimate The vision borders depend on what Nation they were in when they received their vision. Not what nation they were born in. Arleccino has a Shneznayan vision because she got her vision in Shneznaya, even tho she is native to Khaneria Wanderer has Sumeru vision instead of a Inazuma one, since he got his in Sumeru Annddddd like someone already mentioned; Thoma has a Inazuma vision despite being born in Monstadt and being half monstadt himself
