This is a fiction film action by Bujinkan. Bujinkan's Togakure-ryu is fiction by Takamatsu. When I was a child, my father scolded me when I used kama this way. "Do not use precious tools as toys!" In my village Kama is an ordinary agricultural work tool.

Togakure ryu wasn't fiction Your father scolded you because it was an agricultural tool, it was always an agricultural tool. Ninja were farmers originally. Swords were crude and handmade, shuriken were sharpened coins, kama were just farming tools. Fighting was disputed to be one of the least important aspect of a shinobi.

I could imagine it would be very difficult but im guessing they would have to disarm the opponents sword then use one kama to block the shiled and the other to kill the enemy

Samurais didn't use shields so kama isn't really made to fight oponents with shields.

New channel with same name search it up ;P the enemy then charges with his shield (if it's a large or medium one, I don't think a buckler can do the job), throws you off balance (because you're off guard trying to remove the sword from the chain) and you're basically screwed. A kama is for enemies without shield, the hopes of success against a shielded opponent are near 0, because even an enemy with a buckler has the choice to punch you or your armed hand with the buckler or simply take you out with the sword HEMA 1 - Oriental martial arts 0

+CeeDee Player is right. You don't. Anybody with 2 single hand weapons is going to get trounced by a shield. Kama are basically what you used if you didn't want to get arrested for walking around with a sword. Far from ideal weapons but with practice can be effective enough.

I believe (for most Ninja) combat was Plan C if Plan A and B failed if you get my drift. But they were skilled in combat.
