Such an amazing find! I really hope this gains more traction and recognition that it desperately deserves. I would love to see this get developed into a full-length movie, web series, something. Nyala Moon, you are lovely, charming and gorgeous. Thank you for being you and for making this film.

Interesting the number of commenters who are saying that a trans person should "be honest" about their history. How far along in dating someone is it necessary for a woman to reveal her medical history to them? Someone said he "wanted to make a connection with a biological female". What about someone who wanted to "make a connection with a fertile female to start a family"? At what point should a woman have to reveal that she's had a hysterectomy and can't have kids? Or from the woman's perspective, at what point in dating should a man have to reveal that he's had a vasectomy and can't have kids? Or what about other factors; there was a case in Israel where a man was convicted of "rape by deception" because he didn't reveal to a Jewish woman that he was actually Muslim. Did he "lie" because he didn't "correct pre-existing misconceptions"? How many men get women to have sex with them by claiming to be a neurosurgeon or a fighter pilot? Bottom line, the whole situation is a lot more complicated than "Well, she should be honest". There are no easy, straightforward answers here, which is part of the point of this film, IMO. It would be wonderful if people could just accept trans people for who they are, but I also realize we don't live in a perfect world.

Nice film.The parade of dates seemed like an homage to the classic "Nola Darling" scene from Spike Lee's seminal work, "She's Gotta Have It." I'd say that the ending here was a little anticlimactic, expected a bit more drama from the one-night stand but it just kind of ended. Obviously in real life nobody's entitled from just a quick hookup to a detailed reason why they're being ghosted, but as the audience, we expect the climax of a film to lead to a denouement, to give us more insight into her motivation for deciding to remain alone. I guess one interpretation is that even when everything seems to be going right, because of her lifelong experience of pervasive anti-trans discrimination, she can't trust even this moment of pure pleasure to blossom into anything more. There's always the fear of humiliation, anger, or worse, and so sadly the best course of action is to just walk away with feelings and body parts intact. Anyway, thanks for making this, I hope it gets a wide audience.

I think a transperson should at least be honest with a person if they think it could lead to something. The second guy, or first date, had the most honest reaction.

Not disagreeing but the word honest is kinda loaded. It implies that the trans woman is lying if she doesn’t reveal that fact.

Interesting Film. She's looking for an honest partner who would accept her and rejects men she can't trust or deems incompatible, only to become a lying manipulative person who uses and exploits an innocent man's desire to find a loving an honest partner. She becomes just like the men she rejected, untrustworthy. She plays the victim, to not belonging in either world, but the truth is, the innocent man was the victim. Whether he knows it or not, he was taken advantage of and used a tool to gratify her sexual needs to fill the void in her life. He was given no choice. She says he got what he wanted, but that's not true. He wanted to make a connection with a biological female. Her predatory behavior is dishonest and selfish. There's nothing wrong with being trans, but there is something wrong with being an a**hole.

He wasn't taken advantage of, at least not from the perspective of the protagonist. She points out @8:32 that "he got what he wanted." In 2023 anybody who is that worried about whether their date is cis or trans can at least take the time to get to know the person first. But otherwise, people aren't morally obligated to tell you their entire personal history if you're in such a rush to hop into bed with them. Am I being deceitful if I don't tell you in advance of a one night stand that I had Lasik, that I dye my hair, or that I had a bunionectomy?
@andrehines Жыл бұрын
@@pataplan your argument falls flat when you take into account the fact that he never expressed a desire to meet a female that never had lasik, has natural hair color, or foot surgery. He did however express that he desired to meet with a biological female, and that is why her statement that he got what he wanted is flat out false. He never got what he wanted. It's interesting though that, not only does she lie to the victim by omission, but she also lies to herself about him getting what he wants. She has to lie to herself in order to justify her predatory behavior. The depression she lives with is not the result of being a victim to the world, but rather herself being a victim to having to live with all the lies she tells herself. She is her own worst enemy.
@pataplan Жыл бұрын
