He's not lying about the BMW air bag.. I was working on a BMW 750 doing a reinstall cause the other "shop" that did it. Decided to leave wire everywhere and the system itself didn't . So As I was fixing it noticed a Mini alpine 4ch (KTP-445A) was installed in the glove box. Then as I took the door panel(s) off something shorted and pop went every air bag. (The amp was not getting power then it was) so I'm guess the ground only had a good connection when the door was closed

I seen a video on jumping the speakers from front to back, to make it easier to amp all of your door speakers. He said combine the front right, and rear right negative and positive wires, and doing the same with the left side, at the harness behind the radio, and then just run the rear speaker wires to amp. Sorry it's not clear, but he wasn't too clear either lol

You could do it in theory if your amp doesn't have enough channels. You will be putting your speakers in parallel so you have to measure the final resistance to make sure it's ok for the amp. I would just get an amp that has enough channels and hook them up separately.

AnthonyJ350 I'm guessing the reason he suggested doing it, so you don't have to run wire from the front to the back.

Possibly. But if you have a head unit capable or a DSP you will be unable to perform time delay properly, which can really enhance sound quality for the driver.

basically using the rear channel factory run to power speakers in the front (right rear neg to right front neg, right rear positive to right front positive,left rear negative to left front negative,and left rear positive to left front positive.), then you run your own wire for the rear deck speakers.(that video was explaining a 4 channel amp install) works okay 50 watts and under, more than 50 watts, run your own wire. i did a few times before that video even came out. save yourself the money if your not running big power.

Also, running full range audio at 2 ohm is gonna sound like garbage. Even if your head unit could handle the low impedence, or an amp is used, IMO whatever is driving the speakers is going to be hot and distorted, and the tweeters become lethal

Anthony i need help. Not related to this video but youre very wise and will probably know the fix. I have installed an android head unit to the Z. Everything works until i plug in the antenna and all sound cuts off. Ive tried changing the setting which supplies power to the antenna from the unit and i get audio from the radio but nothing else, Music apps dont produce sound once i have done this. Ever came across this issue before
@AnthonyJ350
@AnthonyJ350 6 жыл бұрын
Matthew Lewis Did you run a separate ground for the head unit? Nissans typically don't have a ground in the factory plug but the aftermarket harness does, it's a little misleading.
@matthewlewis9335
@matthewlewis9335 6 жыл бұрын
AnthonyJ350 yes the after market harness came with one and i attached that to a plate where you screw in the air control box.

Matthew Lewis Test to see if you have ground there. I ground it further up where the support brace it. What brand of head unit is it?
@matthewlewis9335
@matthewlewis9335 6 жыл бұрын
AnthonyJ350 its called an Erisin android 7.1 from ebay. I will test the first chance i get. If it isnt a grounding issue do you have any idea what else it could be
@AnthonyJ350

Matthew Lewis could be an internal problem with the head unit when it sees ground from the antenna
