Very informative video guys, even priceless for newbies like us that have so much to learn still. We hit a wreck last week and caused a lot of damage to the starboard keel, heading to Savannah for some repairs :(

Good video, very informative. How about using the engines help reduce the apparent wind.
@SailingWindTherapy Жыл бұрын
Yes! We now use the engines if necessary to reduce apparent wind. Fortunately we only had to do that once. We’re glad you liked the video.

Im looking to buy a second headsail for my leopard, would you buy this over a geniker, code z, asym or others?
@SailingWindTherapy Жыл бұрын
We love our Parasailor. Many Other headsails require a bowsprit which we didn’t want since it’s a pain in the ass when picking up mooring balls and anchoring. The Parasailor is pricy but worth it to us. But we’re not at all experts on other headsails like Asyms or even symmetrical spinnakers. There is a Parasailor knockoff called an Oxley but we believe it’s a much older version of the original Parasailor and our sail is already three versions newer than that one.

Brilliant video. We have an Oxley Bora and we had the exact same issue this summer sailing from Sicily to Greece. We knew we needed to de power the sail but our sheets aren't long enough. If we had let one go it would have ended up in the water. I used the windlass to pull the snuffer down. The force caused damage to the sock which we are yet to repair. Unfortunately we got almost no support from Oxley when we purchased the sail so we have had to try and work all of this out ourselves. Trial and error with a sail like this is very dangerous particularly on a monohull where going overboard is a real danger. Is it possible to get a copy of the notes that the dealer provided?

Thanks Mark. I know they are similar but the Istec Parasailor is a different sail and company than the Oxley. I'm surprised that you didn't get any support from Oxley though because I know Paul is pretty active in the community.

For the price of the parasailor, the notes could come laminated.

That's why I don't just buy your Parasailor from Oxley!

You laugh that the users can't cope with the battle on your Parasailor?! It's really unfortunate what you're doing here!
