Today I give you a quick and dirty look at how I made a live edge, free from black walnut table. I don't have the right tools, I wasn't being the safest, but I am pretty pleased with the results!

Ya know, I really don't feel as though I've put my heart and soul into a project until I've either set a power tool, my garage, or myself ablaze while working on it. Awesome job on an awesome table! RIP 40 year old circular saw...

You are awesome. I have been a carpenter for well over thirty years. The difference between a good carpenter and a not so good one is the mentality of just going for it. Put yourself in the situation that may get a questionable result BUT LEARN FROM IT. As always, hats off to you girl... appreciate your attitude.

Table looks great! The best project is the one we start but also that we actually finish, which isn't always a guarantee. But yah, safety gear is vital. I have friends who've lost bits and pieces, and a few who've even died, using equipment without safety in mind.

I love that table so much. The thought I had with your process was get several clamps that way your material won't move while your working with it. That's something I figured out when I had to work solo.

I think you did a great job for the tools you had to work with. Well done. Many years ago my Dad made a fireplace mantle out of black walnut. It's beautiful, but huge and so darn heavy @ 10 foot by 12inches by 2 inches thick. Takes 4 grown men to move it.

It might be a good opportunity to do "learn with me", "what did I learn", and/or "what I'd do differently" videos. I am sure there are people with varying wood working skill levels who can either learn or or offer insight from the content if you're up to making it. Furniture can be simple or complex. Sometimes there is a specific item that is incredibly difficult to source or doesn't exist. There's also just plain ole satisfaction.

It's really nice looking. Complements the room perfectly. By the way, I know this is off topic, but because of your recommendation a long time ago, I made some soilent green repashy because I purchased a bunch of otos and was having difficulty getting them to eat. I took a stone and smeared the unset repashy on the surface. After it gelled I put it in the tank, and their little bellies are now full every time I do that. I had a silicone ice cube tray that makes teeny weeny cubes. It is now dedicated to repashy. - no more cutting or dicing needed for other fish. The little cubes keep protected in the tray and I just pop one out when I need it. I love your videos.

Happy Easter. Love your DIY projects. My grandpa always made us follow all safety precautions if we used his tools, BUT if we caught him unawares in the middle of a project we'd catch him barefoot, no gloves, no safety glasses. He was a true do as I say, not as I do man. I think your table came out beautifully. 👍💓👍

Very nice looking table! I'm planning to build my own coffee-table as well, but then in the same style as Tanner did with a computer table, with a terrarium in it. I think that would be an amazing centerpiece for my living room. I'm a complete n00b with building stuff, so I'll be learning as I go.
