yes, no SS in the first year and you only pay taxes over 50% of the income in the first 2 years. But I think it's so much different to what us Dutch are used to. In Holanda, if you are a trabalhador independente, you can claim (almost) all costs you make for your business and deduct that from your revenue. You only pay taxes over your profit in Holanda. And you have several deductibles (although the government is rapidly deducting that).

A second comment on your bathroom issue. Larger pipe at the end (50mm) is for when you use two or more things the same time. Like shower and sink and/or bidet. Secondly the vent should be at the beginning of the waterflow. Not in the middle or the end. You want to create a steady flow without turbulence caused by the mixing of air and water. Personally, i never used a collector like you did. I think it will cause overflow in case of obstruction in the outlet and inundated floors.

Here in Poland trenchless methods of piping under roads, like moling or ramming, usually cost 25 to 150 euro a meter. Usually less than 50 euro. I suspect, that you would be much better off with that pipe now, would you from the start consider going trenchless and ordered such a service (if prices compare).

In a new country always go to an accountant first then he could advice an attorney. Then you have a proper start. Pipes have to be at least 350mm below street, every utility has a different depth requirement. Look up the building / plumbing code to stay out of trouble. The issue with filming everything is that the opposing side has all the evidence of incorrect doing. Stick to building Norms + Codes, they were developed for a reason.🙏 40mm pipe for shower drainage is ample just add a vertical air vent to prevent airlock.

Jasper just watching your video and without being rude, is the pipe buried deep enough as I am sure water pipes are buried at nearly 2ft also do you suffer with frost and will it freeze at all just curious as I dont want all your hard work to be undone. I recently went to Rhodes and the hotel had a water leak, I was talking to the owner and he said the builders had put the water pipe to close to the surface and it had caused it to crack with the intense heat of the summer. Just a thought. Glad you have found a wonderful lady in Carina and her beautiful baby wishing you a very happy future together.

Hi Jasper! I live in Spain, here when you have your own business, whatever you earn, a million euros a month or 500 euros a month, you have to pay around 350 euros monthly to cover social security, pension etc. Is this the same in Portugal? Tax is separate.

I don't earn a million euros and pay about 254 euros a monts in Portugal, as a freelancer. I think in Holanda you pay the social security at the end of the year, based on your profits.
