Thanks for another great video. It was interesting and enjoyable. I think the Sonne team did a great job on the concrete slab. Looks pretty darn good if you ask me. Good job guys and the nice truck driver. That job done. Moving cattle around just takes time. You and dad are always good with the herd. Appreciate the attention you give the herd. Good herdsmen!!!!!!!! You both had a busy day but got a lot done. Laughed at concreting in your jacket and cell phone. Hope there was a easy way to retrieve them. Been there done that before myself. About it I guess. You all take care and be safe. Looking forward to the next. Good day Cole and Brian, that is why you enjoy the farm life. Thanks for everything. The Iowa farm boy from years ago.

We have poured some concrete. Once, just my son & I and the driver got out & worked the chute. When we finished the pour, I told my son pay this man. He was insulted. Would not take cash for helping, said it was his concrete until it was poured out. We never had another driver like him. That's some adjustable bull float. Use what you have or make one. Love it!

Ok so here's the best way you should do your concrete job: do it exactly how you know what will work best for the job at hand, which is what you did. Y'all don't need a bunch of people who can only watch n criticise, you are there doing it, not us. So job well done on a job well done as my beautiful Dad would have said. 😇💙 And Cole I'm sorry to say that as soon as I saw you with a hose I thought "Ooops that's goanna run over!" But hey, you're consistent. LOL! 😆👍 Love your work Sonne Farms - concrete n all. I can't wait for claving time. 💙🙏🦘🐨

Well done on the pour. I loved the homemade bull float. There is absolutely nothing gained in your situation by paying someone an exorbitant amount to do that pour when you have the time to do it for yourselves. There is also no reason to go out and spend a lot of money on tools for an occasional situation. Your are pouring a cattle floor, not a dance floor. :-) Cole: I love the sweatshirt! Rock Tuff, indeed. He's my only hope.

@dianepeterson63133 жыл бұрын
I agree your concrete turned out very well. I just wonder if you should have left the forms up to morning.Just to make sure you didn't have a cement slide in an area. Like you, we weren't pros, but our neighbor knew a lot about a lot of building projects. We left the forms up all night, and if it was warm, we sprayed the concrete every few hours - so it didn't set up too fast. Prevented cracks from starting. We were making steps into doors, cement slabs as a 4 x4 ' entry or exit to a new door, patios & floors inside backyard sheds. We always over ordered & ended up doing an unplanned project to use up the extra. We usually ended up with cat foot prints, & our kids hand prints with the year of the project. Oh how happy the kids all were to get their hands pressed into the cement. ( Their reward for not stepping into our fool hardy projects.)

Anytime you place a concrete slab-on-grade you should spray the surface of the concrete after finishing and it takes initial set with a concrete curing compound. This prevents the water in the concrete from evaporating into the air and will make the concrete last longer. You can get it a building material store or online and follow the directions to apply.
@johnharrar95423 жыл бұрын
