I like what amd offers. But, Nvidia just has more to offer in terms of features tbh. If you’re not a gamer you will go with nvidia. And if you are one then it’s like if you play competitive (which most people do) You will go with nvidia because of lower latency ( slightly better) The only place where amd makes sense is triple a titles. But nvidia does have better ray tracing and dlss. And the hardware for dlss, unlike amd. Nvidia has cuda support, the power usage on 4070 ti super vs 7900xt is better with nvidia. Let’s be honest if nvidia gave more vram, everyone would buy nvidia without a doubt. And as you said in a video, if you don’t need to play the games at the ultra high settings then vram starts to matter a little bit less. 1080p is of the past. 1440p is the real deal now. 4k is still far away. In 1440p, 12 gb of vram on 4070 super is probably more than enough for most people. And if you can play any game right now with good performance.

For non gamers, Ai related tasks are a lil bit better with nvidia. 3D tasks are better with nvidia. And Again nvidia just now announced more new features with the software update. It’s hard for a company to be in competition with nvidia which is just growing exponentially. Soon there will be such a huge gap in terms of sales that nvidia’s pricing might become unmatchable just to weaken the competition. Then its for nvidia to completely decide the market value of any new gpus. That’s what i think.

I think what's fundamentally missing in the VRAM debate is that the games that push the boundaries of VRAM typically do this by implementing suuuper high resolution textures to a point past diminishing returns. The option to load slightly lower resolution textures is usually there in the game's settings. I'd rather do that and save significant amounts of money rather than climb the price ladder.
@arenzricodexd4409

this. that's why i said things like x amount of VRAM is not enough is part of hardware maker trap. they want you to stick with that mindset rather than tweaking the in game setting. and hardware maker like nvidia/AMD work with game developer to push those exclusive ultra setting on PC that eat bajillion of system resource.

That fanbase consists of mostly their mid tier cards (xx60series) that are now priced the same as high tier and many of those people will not pay the extra price. They are losing base due to price slowly but surely, they don't care now because they have the AI bubble, but that base is slowly being converted, and now they have intel to deal with and by next year there drivers will be more then ok enough for everybody, and intel is happy to take all their mid and low customers as is AMD. AMD will start ignoring NV and compete with intel and slowly NV will fade into Matrox or worse 3dfx territory, all thanks to their short shortsightedness with AI. A market that will soon be full of ASIC's accelerating it from other companies and NV will be an insignificant player.

So from my point of view it was about time we can see a real evolution in graphics! What is sad tought is the price tag wich is way higher than it was back then even considering the inflation. The problem with Nvidia is that their fans buy their products even when THEY are the poor competition, for example, an RX6600 is objectively better than a RTX 3050 and yet people still get 3050 for gaming, even though RX6600 and even RX6600XT is cheaper than the 3050 (at least they were when I got my RX6600) and has performance on par with the 3060. I use my pc mainly for gaming and I haven't used a single Nvidia card since my 1050Ti, I upgraded my GPU 3 times and all of those 3 graphics cards were AMD, because even though I started out as an Nvidia fanboy it just didn't make sense to buy their products.

@alunaticwithashotgun9840 at lower hardware power, Nvidia is the better buy simply due to features, not fanboyism. Things like DLSS 3 and frame gen are amazing for lower powered PC's, and is far better than AMDs offering. Amd is losing because of AMD, not Nvidia fan boys lol. Amd still has the 7900xtx at $1k, this is their greatest gpu and it loses to Nvidias 2nd best gpu, and not even close to the first best the 4090. Amd needs to make stronger hardware, or price themselves better. They screw themselves don't get mad at people buying Nvidia because it is actually better.
@Bramagon

@icwithashotgun9840 On the low end, that's fair. On the high end however, AMD just doesn't really compete. They can only offer similar or better raster performance, which isn't even needed since every game without raytracing already runs without any issue on modern cards. On top of that, Nvidia also offers the higher quality features and is always the one innovating even though they don't have to.. I'm hoping Intel can change that eventually.

Yeah but to be honest this video is kind of an exaggeration of reality. If you see how Apple does it the ladder pricing of the Nvidia cards isn't even remotely as close and even more if you add cost and options etc. Sure those GPU's are overly expensive with big profit margins but the ladder pricing itself is not close to Apple at all. Apple jumps from 700 to 1200 to 1800 and then 3000 while Nvidia steps are closer together.

I can get a 7900 XT for $699, which has identical rasterization performance but has 20GB VRAM and wider bus width, compared to a 4070 Ti Super at $790 (13% more expensive). The question becomes: is the better RT and CUDA worth the $91 dollar charge?
@KanakaBhaswaraPrabhata
@KanakaBhaswaraPrabhata 6 ай бұрын
The answer is going to be different each people. For me, yes. 16gb is not much a problem even now and near future, then about the raster performance maybe the 7900xt is slighty better, but how much better is better? I mean with hundreds fps already on both, even 30fps difference won't matter so much (raster rendering is ez for both gpu). Then the RT performance, on higher end you may want atleast try Ray Tracing, and it definitely much better on 4070 Ti Super than 7900XT, especially in Path Tracing. And as for RT, i can definitely say RT (epsecially Path Tracing) is meant to be used with some upscaling and this is another point where nvidia upscaling is better than amd, better qualty and better features (Ray Reconstruction for examples) And don't let me start on another features that might unnecessary for dedicated gamers but it is very useful if needed like dual nvenc encoder, OptiX for Blender rendering, Tensor Cores for AI things, Video Super Resolution, and currently RTX SDR to HDR. I'm not nvidia fanboy, but for my perspective is AMD is cheaper but nvidia still better card and definitely worth a little bit more. But in the lower ends the answers might be difference though

Think like this, Apple's Iphone come with 6GB ram where in the world of 12GB to 16 GB ram yet they are the best or one of the best phones that world has ever seen, why? because the bus width and the efficiency of the ram is much more than that of a 6GB android and thus it is able to compete with the top end 16GB models. "If AMD was dominant, would they do the same thing?" - we already got the answer to that question, just look at the CPU market. Zen 3 was very expensive at launch, because it was faster and more efficient than Intel. And it was exactly the same with Zen 4, especially in terms of total platform cost. The new 8000 series APUs are also designed in a way that makes you want to pay more. You want the full 12 CU iGPU? You have to pay over $300 for the 8-core model, where in fact those 12 CUs would be fully saturated by just four cores. Neither of these companies is your friend. They are corporations, their only goal is to milk as much money out of you as possible. And if they get the opportunity to do so, they take it.

Another selling point for AMD vs. NVIDIA are AMD's OpenSource Linux Drivers, btw.! Whenever I need to upgrade my PC again, I'll probably go AMD again (used to have a really nice 2nd Hand HP AMD-Notebook with an R7 260M 2GB dedicated VRAM from 2013 I ran Manjaro on and the OpenSource Drivers from AMD enabled the Dual-Graphics from the A10-APU and the dedicated R7 to work flawlessly, which wasn't even possible under Windows anymore since the Windows Driver Support for the integrated Graphics didn't allow to install newer drivers and and the integrated GPU couldn't be deactivated in the UEFI Settings of that Notebook either!)... So, unless NVIDIA somehow also goes OpenSource with their Drivers at some point in the near Future, I will prefer AMD over NVIDIA anytime with Linux-Systems! I do have a new enough Windows Desktop, too with an i9900KF and a 2700 GPU from NVIDIA. Yet, I somehow dread the day Windows Support runs out for that hardware an I'll need to setup Linux on that machine, even though I'll probably just rund some old Windows in a Virtual Machine on that thing then to do the tasks that aren't as comfortable on Linux like scanning then...with 64 GB of DDR4-RAM, that's still pretty quickly do-able then. Not like this ancient lil Core2Duo Macbook with NVIDIA GPU that uses only a few hundred MB integrated/shared RAM from the max. of 8 GB System RAM. Glad I got Linux to work pretty smoothly on it though...and the OpenSource NVIDIA-Drivers, that are available (not from NVIDIA, but community-reverse engineered, if I'm not mistaken!), run smooth enough with what I need that lil Laptop for...but I tried proprietary Drivers and it was a pain in the heinie!

I think value comes in steps, not in a linear curve. it's a bit like "can this card play this game without game breaking compromises or not?" It's a pass / fail thing. AMD = Luxury consumer good nVidia = Productivity work horse

It's not a problem with nVidia, but with a certain type of consumer's mindset. If you're in this mindset, you can't buy overpriced 4070 Ti Super or 4080 Super and expect it to be good for years and future games. Objectively those cards will work great for years and future games, but *you* will not be satisfied and *you* will be spending more time looking a FPS counter than the actual game content itself. This will become especially painful in a few months when 50-series GPUs are released. Your only option is to buy 4090 now and then upgrade to 5090 in a few months or work on your mindset.

I wonder why? Because stupid people will buy anything that's thrown to them .... without considering what they are actually getting rather than focusing on brand value

Problem is, the companies think they’re too big to fail. They have virtually no competition, you think of a smartphone you think of an iPhone, you think of a GPU you think of an RTX card. And this means they can charge exorbitant prices for mediocre products. These companies were once the pinnacle of innovation in their fields but now they decide to take advantage of their propaganda. Not very truthful of either.

NVDIA actually invests in more technologies to improve gaming...AMD doesn't. They just piggyback on NVDIA years later. Both AMD cards had driver issues with games

Recently helped a KZbinr build a new rig and as he was reliant on NVIDIAs sodtware suite for his content creation and streaming I had to spec the 4070ti super for him because he needed the VRAM as he gamed on multiple displays (at once) and you just need VRAM for that. He wasnt the happiest with the price point but thats what the option is now.

Last time I built a desktop was 2013, been using laptops for portability, I find it disgusting how expensive things have gotten since then. Nvidia reminds me of how intel used to behave, deliberately holding their products back because of lack of competition now. Like when AMD brought us Ryzen intel was forced to offer better value now just look at the price to performance ratio of intel, the 13th / 14th gens are pretty great but there's no way they'd have that core count had AMD bot pushed them

This video's premise is dumb right out of the gate. You are comparing Apple's product stack pricing strategy for 1 generation to Nvidia's product stack pricing for a generation + a mid generation refresh. And an incomplete product stack at that. Is Nvidia expensive? Yes! Is it worth it? Worth is determined by what people are willing to pay and we know Nvidia's market share. Want Nvidia to cut prices? AMD and Intel need to compete. It's capitalism 101.

Nvidia is worse than Apple. With Apple you get the best value if you buy the cheapest option and anything you need extra is crazy expensive. Meanwhile, when RTX 4000 launches you pretty much got worse value for your money the cheaper the GPU you bought was. Wanna buy something cheaper than a 4090? Get fucked.
