READ On . . , and Read the book Revenge of the Sith When Anakin awakes as Vader off the operating table and is starting to get furious as he now knows (way too late) Sidious tricked him. Sidious then tells him Padme is dead and that he Anakin killed her in his anger. When Anakin/Vader yells out NOoooo He uses the Force in that room to crush everything and does so. Palpatine being treacherous and easily guessing what Vader will do, becomes one with the Dark Side of the Force to avoid being anhilated by Vader's anger that has no end. Vader does reach out to choke Sidious but can only locate a powerful shadow. Vader's anger cannot do anything to this malevolent laughing shadow. Vader realises he is ALL powerful but where it matters most, as Obi Wan warned him about being twisted by this Dark Lord, his thirst for un-ending power will destroy him. Anakin is destroyed in that operating theatre by Sidious's words. That's why in this comic he (Sidious ) attacks Vader with Force Lightning. I prefer the brilliant book the Revenge of the Sith by Mathew Stover because Sidious laughs maliciously whilst Vader destroys all the droids in the Theatre including the operating table. Remember, Vader cannot touch Sidious when he becomes one with the Dark Side of the Force. Also, Sidious is a liar because treachery IS indeed the way of the Sith. Sidious constantly tests Vader and puts him down. In the book the Rise of Vader Sidious promises to teach him ALL the ways of the Force but lies. He does not teach Vader how to fully become one with the Dark Side as Vader would instantly kill him. Sidious is very treacherous. He killed his Master. . . the great, but very careless Darth Plagueis. Sidious is very smart as he doesn't teach Vader anything that Vader can use against him.

Palpatine only wanted one true apprentice, that would have been his right hand man: Anakin. Maul and Dooku were nothing but tools. But then Mustafar happened and his precious apprentice lost all his potential to become stronger than him. And that changed a lot Palpatine's attitude towards Vader.
