I saw the most growth early 2023 when I had released 1 song every week for 2 months. I saw 20% increase per month, growth which normally takes me a year! I knew that wasn't sustainable long term but my aim is around 2 songs a month so I have time to actually make the songs I feel passionate about. After 10 years on Spotify I have noticed that only 1/10 songs actually DO well. WHICH is why you need to release a lot //Artist with 50 million streams on Spotify and more than that across other platforms. And I'm still a "small" artist. What a crazy world we live in :) EDIT: I also saw the biggest drop in streams ever in September/October 2023 and I have no idea why. I've never seen that kind of drop in 10 years. But I'm slowly fighting my way back up one song at a time.

Yes totally agree, releasing every 2 weeks also worked wonders for me! I did it throughout 2023 and gained over 100k monthly listeners and around 7 million streams with this cycle :- ) But i guess there is also a lot of luck involved if you get into the algorythmns but i guess releasing frequently increases the odds.

That's awesome! Congrats! Yes, releasing more frequently just increases the odds.

I think 4 or 5 singles then an album is a good strategy👍

I plan to release a song a week, with accompanying content for social media, so that I am publishing something, somewhere, every day of 2024. Let's see how long I last 🤣

Hey! I have a question: Will Spotify playlist pitching still be relevant, if we release every 2 weeks? Do u think puting out songs every 2 weeks will help us more stream wise, than doing it every 4 weeks + spotify pitch?

@@krisumusic advertising costs are just abnormally high just because of calendar, too much competition and new campaigns suffer a bit It’s different if you have an optimized campaign already going into these months cause then the ad algorithm already knows who’s into the ad and even if the cost goes up, it won’t be by much but new campaigns? Maaan lol

@@xaviarmusic Aah I get you, I haven't done any ad campaigns since like 2014. Back then ads were really good. I had some facebook hacks that doesn't work anymore. I had a low student budget back then but it was fire. From all I've seen it gotten really bad in recent years. It's way better to just spam out songs until something sticks than pay for ads. I just got lucky with the algorithmic weekly during the winter months i think! I noticed the more I release singles every week it got a snowball effect after 2-3 months so I will try to replicate that again.

I pay 200-300 €$ for each song so its also a financial question. do I want to get one song done or do a 4 day vacation or something. or safe it for the future or bleak times. real struggle
@zzayuh
@zzayuh 10 ай бұрын
Why do you pay that much for making a song? Studio time or something?

I'd recommend learning to do as much as you can yourself if you're trying to save money. That's what I do. As you get better you'll move faster.

mixing and mastering. I dont have the nerve to get good at this so I let people do it that do it for a living and I know I will have the best outcome. I do not have any plugins or whatsoever unfortunately@@zzayuh

@@tomdupreeiii yeah true I been making music since I was 14 in 18 now and do everything myself and have gotten 30K monthly listeners and 3 songs with over 100K without spending anything close to that amount I just wanna know what it’s spent on! Ads? Studio time? @hill

Hi Tom, is there an algorithmic advantage to release on Friday's? or it's just a common practice?
@tomdupreeiii
@tomdupreeiii 10 ай бұрын
Yeah, it's best if you're trying to capture Release Radar. It's also just common practice, likely due to the algorithmic advantages.

Hi, Tom! If you release two songs a month, would these two be in Release Radar? Or when the newest one enters the other will be displaced? Thanks for all your advices!

im wondering have u ever used audio normalization? for example i have 10 tracks and sometimes i can hear the difference in volume levels between them, so how to know for sure? whats even the standard? i just want all my music to be at the same level so listeners dont feel weird, or maybe i dont even need to bother and just upload the tracks as they are? 🤷‍♂

I try to make sure I mix all songs very similar. I save mixer presets which I use as the base for all songs. But yeah, some songs suddenly are way lower or higher. It happens :) I like when songs keep the dynamics, so don't wanna push them to the "roof". But compare to songs you like and put them into your daw if you can download the wav/mp3 files. My music has always been a few dB lower than the average. it's fine.

@@krisumusic thank u for the advice 🤘 u are right, i need to check levels of several fav songs from my own genre and compare it to my songs, i keep the dynamics 💯
