You gotta use Hypeddit, Tom. They have a FB API integration which sends conversions from Hypeddit directly to the Facebook servers. This circumvents the problem with pixel misreporting. I'm running a campaign right now with that setup and it is just as cheap as a year ago with every event being reported correctly

With conversions I had problems with the following: Philippines, Vietnam, Mexico, Egypt, Moraco, Indonesia , North Africa, Peru, Colombia , Tunisia and Jordan. Hope to hear back! Then to top it off, Spotify released my newest song under the wrong artist name, so it didn't even trip the initial release radar

@Tom DuPree III been a rough one, that is for sure. Tried them traffic campaign and they did not play out very well for me. Had a lot of clicks from Mexico and Italy, but nothing showed up on my Spotify from there. Kind of just shut ads off for a minute til I can figure things out

I’ve also found popularity score doesn’t necessarily mean you trigger algorithmic playlists. My new song has had a 31 popularity score for the first month of release, got a couple hundred plays on discover weekly and was taken off

I've only started using FB ads two weeks ago, and have been running conversion ads. I've been getting results that make absolutely no sense. Like Facebook and Hypeddit are showing 10x as many clicks as Spotify is showing streams. I'm going to give traffic ads ago. Thanks for the insight on the pixel issues.

I think switching to traffic is the right move at this point. Something is seriously wrong with conversions and there's simply too much luck involved.

I think with traffic campaigns you lose a lot of data. I've had a good performing song since October at 5 a day and it's consistently remained under 10cents and that's a conversion campaign, so it seems that for me conversion campaigns still work? I'm intrigued by traffic campaigns though as there is no learning phase. Would really like to know those countries you removed as well

A few months ago, I would have agreed about the data loss, but over the past 60-90 days it seems as though the data I'm getting (and others I've spoken to) is so hit or miss that it's unusable. I for one haven't used any pixel-based audiences in 2022 at all. They've just become ineffective. If your conversions are still working, that's awesome. Keep them going! I still think they can work, but it's just a shot in the dark as to whether that will happen because of the updates Facebook has pushed through over the past six months. Planning to do a video on the updated country breakdown soon!

So we can see that your CPM difference b/t the Conversion and Click campaigns is what made the difference in your CPCs. When you look at the details of your Ad Sets/Countries, what specifically was driving your CPM so much higher in the Conversion one?

My launch is also at a standstill right now. I was seeing some nice numbers, conversions were pumping at a nice rate at around 0.18c a conversion. I woke up one morning and my fb business manager and ad account was hacked! The hackers added 4 admins to my business account, made me employee so I couldn’t do anything. They then ran a 60,000$ campaign with my ad account to promote this sus crypto website. Luckily, the account locked when they racked up 1,200 in ad spend (that I’m currently working with FB to get refunded). Now I can’t run ads, and probably won’t have the whole account up and running again for a bit until FB finishes the investigation.

Is a minimum of $150 per day on ads during the first 2 days of a new release good enough to get a song off to a good start, in your experience? Or not enough? Too much?

Yeah, $150 is plenty. Ideally, you want to prioritize the first full week. $100 per day or more should do wonders.

I tried traffic ads, even targeting only Premium Tier 1 countries, but i get almost 0 streams on Spotify, even with hundreds of links clicks. They just dont work for me

I get similar (though not quite as severe). With conversions, I get something like 0.7 streams per conversion (normally mostly Tier 2 countries). With traffic, I get something like 0.1-0.2 streams per link click (Tier 1 English only).

If you check your conversation campaigns you'll see you get way more clicks than conversations, calculate your click to conversion ratio, and that should match your click to stream ratio in your traffic campaign.

@@Dihmarko The real difference though is that you have to target only Tier 1+ countries to do traffic, which makes your cost per link click cost spike. Some people are struggling with conversions so this is fair enough. Personally I can still get a conversion at 2x cheaper in Tier 2 than I can get a link click in Tier 1, and those conversions are much more likely to actually stream than a link click is to stream (even in Tier 1).

Could just be the music bro , bad songs aren’t gonna convert no matter how hot your audience is. Can’t just rely on ads to make the song better and more interactive ads are needed a lot of people are running ads now so higher quality ads are better.
