Leucine from eggs is one of the best amino acids for protein synthesis. They also have omega-3s, DHA and EPA. Gains for the brain and gains for the guns

🤔 did I miss something in the study half used omega3 without protein other half used omega3 with protein. Of course the latter group with the high protein did better! Was there not a third group with high protein and no omega3 to see if it was because of the omega or just the protein?

I have No idea what you just said Mr DeLauer but Im still watching and all I know is that at the age of 57 I have never gained muscle so fast and so easy or lost fat just as easy as now that Im doing Keto with intermittent fasting . I try to keep it 80% good fats / 15% protein and 5 % carbs.. I do a 20 -22 hour fast window and a 2 to 4 hour eating window 4 - 7 days in a row and a 2 day reset that I eat still almost the same macros but eat through out the day and I also have a few carbs like beer or mix drinks haha all work and no play ...some fruit mostly berries some times mangoes ..I'll keep watching Ill add a few more Omega 3's but ya Dumb it down for us Get-R don's out here..

cheater00 I had the same problem, and what has helped me is progressive overload with the weights, omega 3 suppliments and salmon, egg protein powder ( has no estrogenic compounds unlike protein powder), and, believe it or not cucumbers. Cucumbers ate known to help synthesise protein. I also take collagen powder. Collagen is important to rebuild torn muscle.

@cheater00 6 жыл бұрын
John M thanks. What about eating eggs instead of taking egg protein powder? How do cucumbers help?
@JohnM...
@JohnM... 6 жыл бұрын
cheater00 yep. Eggs are great for keto and protein supply. The cucumbers have certain enzymes which help amino acids utilise proteins for building muscle. A complete profile of amino acids can be found in nutritional yeast. And like this guy says, keeping down inflammation is a key, as where there's inflammation, there's damage.

Hey Thomas, Thank you so much for producing this videos. Part of the reason why I consume your content is because I noticed you always based the information in facts and studies... I must say you are doing an outstanding job in making them comprehensive. It would be helpful if during the video, as you move throughout different topics you show a quick caption with a reference to the study that you always add to the description of the video... or probably a link to the study targeting a new tab. This is just a suggestion and I hope this helps. Thanks again!

Hi Ive been watching a lot of your videos lately I really appreciate everything you're about right now and actually presenting the science based facts. A few questions tho if you get to this, Im a bigger guy ( 6'7" and I weigh 282 pounds) but I'm having troubles trying to figure out what my eating schedule should really look like. Maybe not my schedule more so what my caloric intake should be and what my macros should be at for weight/fat loss. I've lost 28 pounds in the last three months but I've had a lot of people telling me I'm doing everything that I shouldn't be and I'm just not sure if I'm losing the weight because I'm under eating and over training some days and its just obviously shredding the weight maybe? if you could guid me to the right direction it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Thomas, I have recently found your channel and I am genuinely trying to make some life-changing diet choices. I really want to apply a lot of the stuff I'm learning through these videos, but what perplexes me is, you encourage us to have less meals throughout the day, so I am trying to do two meals a day. But you have these drinks that we could make in the morning, or post workout food, or healthy snacks that we could eat if we wanted. Where do we stick those in? (I'm talking about especially the drinks) because I would like to have a nice smoothie, but if that were to take in place instead of 1 meal of the two, I might be too hungry by the end of the day! Or does that smoothie not count as 2 meals a day, along with intermittent fasting?

.All fish oils are toxic and Rancid !..a billion dollar industry ! a scam ! "polyunsaturated Toxic fats" In the 1940s, the agricultural chemists found that they could fatten their animals faster if they poisoned their metabolic systems with an anti-thyroid drug. The found the animals would get fat on very little food. Yet, the drug turned out to leave a carcinogenic residue in the meat. Farmers soon found out that corn and soybeans containing polyunsaturated fats (PUFA) would do the same as the anti-thyroid drugs and suppress the respiration of the animals and make them get fat on very little food. In the process they found that they were getting these yellow-fat diseases and brain degenerations (degeneration of the gonads, infertility, and so on). Around the same time the medical people noticed that the cholesterol was lowered in the process of eating a lot of these polyunsaturated fats. And that led to the spreading of the marketing of unsaturated fats to the human food supply, rather than just for the fattening of farm animals. And since people didn't want to gain weight on the least amount of food, they needed a new reason for selling their fats to humans. And, lowering cholesterol became the excuse in humans. But the agriculturists knew all through the 1940s that corn and soy oils were very fattening, and eventually, very toxic. But since they sold their animals as soon as they reached a marketable size, they didn't care (if they died later; they were killing them before they had the chance to die of the degenerative diseases)." -RP Bottom line: Although,the polyunsaturated fats will lower cholesterol (by suppressing the immune system), one of their main functions is to fatten animals, including you if you consume them, on lower calories. This is why farmers use high polyunsaturated fats foods like corn and soy to fatten their animals. What foods are high in polyunsaturated oils ? Vegetables, seed and nut oils. Nuts, seeds, soy, corn, fatty fish like salmon, omega 3 and 6 oils, fish oil, and animals that are fed a high polyunsaturated diet . How do they cause hormonal imbalances? There are many changes in hormones caused by unsaturated fats. Their best understood effect is their interference with the function of the thyroid gland. Unsaturated oils block thyroid hormone secretion, its movement in the circulatory system, and the response of tissues to the hormone. When the thyroid hormone is deficient, the body is generally exposed to increased levels of estrogen. The thyroid hormone is essential for making the "protective hormones" progesterone and pregnenolone, so these hormones are lowered when anything interferes with the function of the thyroid. The thyroid hormone is required for using and eliminating cholesterol, so cholesterol is likely to be raised by anything which blocks the thyroid function. [B. Barnes and L. Galton, Hypothyroidism, 1976, and 1994 references.] Q: How do they damage the immune system? Vegetable oil is recognized as a drug for knocking out the immune system. Vegetable oil emulsions were used to nourish cancer patients, but it was discovered that the unsaturated oils were suppressing their immune systems. The same products, in which vegetable oil is emulsified with water for intravenous injection, are now marketed specifically for the purpose of suppressing immunity in patients who have had organ transplants. Using the oils in foods has the same harmful effect on the immune system. [E. A. Mascioli, et al.,Lipids 22(6) 421, 1987.] Unsaturated fats directly kill white blood cells. [C. J. Meade and J. Martin, Adv. Lipid Res., 127, 1978.] Q: How do they cause oxidative damage? Unsaturated oils get rancid when exposed to air; that is called oxidation, and it is the same process that occurs when oil paint "dries." Free radicals are produced in the process. This process is accelerated at higher temperatures. The free radicals produced in this process react with parts of cells, such as molecules of DNA and protein and may become attached to those molecules, causing abnormalities of structure and function. Q: What if I eat only organically grown vegetable oils? Even without the addition of agricultural chemicals, an excess of unsaturated vegetable oils damages the human body. Cancer can't occur, unless there are unsaturated oils in the diet. [C. Ip, et al., Cancer Res. 45, 1985.] Alcoholic cirrhosis of the liver cannot occur unless there are unsaturated oils in the diet. [Nanji and French, Life Sciences. 44, 1989.] Heart disease can be produced by unsaturated oils, and prevented by adding saturated oils to the diet. [J. K. G. Kramer, et al., Lipids 17, 372, 1983.] Q. What oils are safe? Coconut and olive oil are the only vegetable oils that are really safe, but butter and lamb fat, which are highly saturated, are generally very safe (except when the animals have been poisoned). Coconut oil is unique in its ability to prevent weight-gain or cure obesity, by stimulating metabolism. It is quickly metabolized, and functions in some ways as an antioxidant. Olive oil, though it is somewhat fattening, is less fattening than corn or soy oil, and contains an antioxidant which makes it protective against heart disease and cancer. Israel had the world's highest incidence of breast cancer when they allowed the insecticide lindane to be used in dairies, and the cancer rate decreased immediately after the government prohibited its use. The United States has fairly good laws to control the use of cancer-causing agents in the food supply, but they are not vigorously enforced. Certain cancers are several times more common among corn farmers than among other farmers, presumably because corn "requires" the use of more pesticides. This probably makes corn oil's toxicity greater than it would be otherwise, but even the pure, organically grown material is toxic, because of its intrinsic unsaturation. In the United States, lard is toxic because the pigs are fed large quantities of corn and soy beans. Besides the intrinsic toxicity of the seed oils, they are contaminated with agricultural chemicals. Corn farmers have a very high incidence of cancer, presumably because of the pesticides they use on their crop. Q: But aren't "tropical oils" bad for us? In general, tropical oils are much more healthful than oils produced in a cold climate. This is because tropical plants live at a temperature that is close to our natural body temperature. Tropical oils are stable at high temperatures. When we eat tropical oils, they don't get rancid in our tissues as the cold-climate seed oils, such as corn oil, safflower oil and soy oil, do. [R.B. Wolf, J. Am. Oil Chem. Soc. 59, 230, 1982; R. Wolfe, Chem 121, Univ. of Oregon, 1986.] ..Go to Raypeats website to read this post ; raypeat.com/articles/articles/unsaturated-oils.shtml ..

Now it makes sence! I've been taking 500 ml of krill oil daily for about a month now, I was surprised after using the "Ab Carver" twice I never felt it's usual CARVING pain in the abdominal area that would normally settle after roughly 24 hours, Im excited to experiment more with this new data, great video. Any thoughts on krill oil specifically?

Interesting, but I'm a tad unclear on a few points. Insofar as protein synthesis is concerned, is it more productive to consume omega-3s at the same time as one consumes protein (esp. whey)? Also, would it be more beneficial to take omega-3s following a workout, especially during the "anabolic window", or does timing not matter that much? Thanks.

im not a scientist but any means, just a phycology buff, so take my word with a grain of salt but, ur body stores fats(thats why it also helps keep muscle cuz fat is hard to get rid of) and Omega3s are a a fatty acid. I think as long as u are getting them on a regular basis and they are in your body in general ull be fine. Along with that ur body dosent flush out fat the same way it does with other nutrients, that why its good for ur brain because ur brain is mainly fat and omg3s improve the neural(nervous system) pathway connections in the brain and assist with memory and what not. So i would assume that Omg3s improve the signaling of the nerve fibers in the muscles the same way they do in the brain which in turn helps the body adapt to working out more efficiently/directs other nutrients(carbs/proteins) to the targeted muscle groups. Hope this helps!!

Omega 3s seems to be like one of the rare things in nutrition that are just beyond awesome for your body. Like Vitamin C.

Hey Thomas, great video (high quality nutritional information as always) I'm on the keto diet, and consume maybe a pound/week of macadamia nuts as just a small snack. I prefer to get what I need from food vs pills so: Is it worth buying an omega 3 supplement? And if so any recommendations?
