I'm going 5x a week in the gym for 2 years. It's so amazing the way you feel! My biggest advice is: do not give yourself the option of not going to the GYM. Wild at heart by John Eldridge. A book every man should read. It's written by a man and it's for men. I promise you that you'll have many "A-ha" moments reading this book. Every young man intuitivly knows what it is to be a man, but without proper guidance, especially in today's world, it can be hard to "connect the dots". Read this book. A lot of the thoughts and feelings you have will start to make sense. Side note: it is at times a religious book. If religion isn't your thing that's ok, just when the author speaks of God basically replace that concept with "the universe" or whatever higher form of consiousness you subscribe to. And if you subscribe to none well then just skip those parts lol.

You start with a glass of water. Then a few days later. You add a second glass. A few days later another. It takes 66 days to really instill a habit. "Patience and persistence is key". Something we are lacking more and more in a World obsessed with and built around "NOW". Want that thing off Amazon? Same day delivery. Pizza? 30 minutes delivered to your door. We're dumb enough to ditch dates because the "spark" wasn't there in the first 10 seconds and it's easier to just start browsing dating apps while leaving the restaurant and your date behind you. We quit jobs after a year because of a lack of sense of accomplishment or progress. Christ, it's a year. A year is nothing and a career takes YEARS. Love takes TIME to get and you're ditching the potential love of your life because it wasnt an instant enough connection for you. We need to slow down, ditch social media, and get back to basics of what life really is. Not how we see it in movies or ads or fake social media posts.

yeah, been to speed dating recently, talked to like 10 guys, 5 mins each, none of them seemed interesting enough for me, because it was too many people, too fast. I'd rather meet someone in some normal circumstances, and best just see what kind of person they are in everyday life, like at work. But the problem is I work from home, so i meet nobody but my clients online.

I agree to a certain point, however, I find myself struggling a lot with my current job. It's my first job, and yes, I feel like I'm getting quite good at my job, but since I'm working a lot of overtime hours and just don't seem to be able to adapt to them, I'm questioning whether I wanna continue doing overtime hours. It's been almost a year, and I feel like instead of my body adapting to the long days, it just starts to give up, and every day I feel like I'm more tired than the day before. I am going to sleep more and more at 9.30-10pm and wake up at 6 because of that. Simply because I don't have any energy left and need to survive the next day.
@farukarslan35834 жыл бұрын
@@fabianvanderelst9643 this sounds similar. You have a life that you spent on certain things. Work is one of them. Overworking is a good thing to show yourself to the company, getting more things done quickly. But I think it's not a sustainable habit. If you really passionate about your job, you love what you do and time pass without realizing, keep that momentum. But at certain point you get overwhelmed, you got less energy day by day. If it's not necessary/urgent stop overworking for a while without effecting your job in a bad point. Prioritize efficiency over time. I also struggle with that sometimes. Just my two cents.

I tried so many things and ways to improve myself but nothing worked. It will work for a while and then back to normal. Then i started to think what is my biggest weakness. The answer is my sleep cycle. I always failed to sleep and wake up at the same time or sleeping same amount of hours daily. I tried to improved it and let go the other habits on which i was trying to improve. I changed the alarm tone to some affirmations to train my subconscious mind. Which helped me a lot in waking up early and at the same time i.e. 7 a.m.( as waking up at 5 is too unrealistic to me). A month after that i started seeing changes in myself. 1] my morning become more productive. 2] i have too much time as i wake up early. 3] i started eating right food and drinking lots of water without even trying. 4] i feel more refreshed every morning. 5] it reduces my screen time as i know it will affect my sleep. 6] adapt some good habits as i have to do something after waking this early. 7] increase confidence because of the affirmations of the alarm. 8] self acceptance.❤️

One thing I'd like to add from experience as a bit of a perfectionist myself. Building habits can be hard. But Matt is right, they can totally change your life and if you start small (look into The Ladder Effect) you can do it. But remember this. Just because you had a bad day doesn't mean anything. Don't let it derail your progress. Don't get too down on yourself or start hating yourself for sleeping too late one morning or being too tired to go to the gym. Remember that one stumble isn't a failure. It's just a stumble. We all stumble sometimes, we all miss a day or two. The important thing is to love yourself and understand that one or two missed days don't mean much in the grand scheme of things. No one is perfect. So brush yourself off and make sure to get back to it the next day. The only person in the world you're in competition with is yourself.

Own the morning. Do what makes your soul feel peace and your world will change. Mine: wake up @ 4:30, get coffee, read for 20mins, write down a gratitude list as simple as being grateful for green grass and clean air. Thanks for the great channel Matt!

Something that helped me with the gym is enjoying the gains, but not directly addressing, recognizing, or talking about how consistent I've been. (Keep track on a calendar or notebook) But, if I say out loud to myself, 'wow we haven't missed a day in 4 months.' Then I might subconsciously *reward* myself by missing my next workout day. Then another, then the habit is broken and it's harder to start up again.

I just started a similar path...I am recently out of a 3 year relationship and it has crushed me, I have been so depressed. I have started to go to the gym and use the 2 day rule and the payoffs are not too noticeable, yet I feel so much better. I have been eating healthy, drinking water, and truly nurturing my body. Thank you for this push to continue my journey. I look forward to becoming more social; eventually graduating and paying off my debt too (hopefully one day I will crush cans with my biceps)

You have inspired me. Recently I’ve been in a dark place after my 5 year relationship ended. I plan on losing weight and becoming more healthy. Also I recently started a minimalistic lifestyle as well but still need to make better diet habits. You are an inspiration and I thank you for your positive videos that helped me get out of a dark place. Thanks Matt!

Just an encouragement for anyone who needs it: it doesn't matter which habit you work on first. Just doing something consistently will give you a base to set up other systems onto. Commit to that first thing and when it's stable you'll be able to fit more pieces on!
