The only rule is to have no rules. Sure, there are ways that make the sound better to hear, but not using rules is interesting.

Put delay, reverb on anything. Like THAUR said, no rules. Try to think outside the box more than ever.

Lol its not like its impossible, esp if u have short notes & plucky synths without to much reverb

Wait... You don't sometimes? I've added it on most instruments through out my time, drums, bass, guitars, pianos, pads, vocals... etc.

It's the same guy mixing in m50s
@eyuelzero3 жыл бұрын
The bass is an awesome idea! But I don't think I'll ever dare add an echo on the bass layer... Instead, make an identical pattern on another low plucky instrument but filtered well. Then adding the echo effect. This way, I can tweak the rhythm it'll produce separate from the bass. I believe this will also give me much more flexibility in mixing and mastering.

I just found your channel and immediately subscribed. You make everything so simple and your content is super insightful. You should really open up a Q&A session for your viewers because I have so many questions about you (job, work, education) if you're comfortable with it. You're one of the most realistic and likeable youtube producers on this platform. Keep up the work Mr. Rome and I'm looking forward to your future videos!

Good stuff as usual. I was kinda shocked when I learned that the default panning (on my DAW) is Stereo Balance/mono panning. So you lose the right signal if you pan left, etc. I like Stereo panning which moves the right signal into the left. There’s also Dual panning.

What you do is what I call, "Driving Production". A front screen and two side mirrors. Whilst driving the song look out the front window but then you hear something in your left or right ear, so your reaction is to look at the side mirrors...SIMPLE. You want to create imagination for the listener 😎😎😎😎

Copy the ARP line and 1/2 the volume, use auto pan on the prime, the copy do the same. However, ensure that the panning on the copy is a mirror of the prime - so as the prime pans left, the copy pans right ... Add some delay to taste maybe a slight detune on the copy (again to taste)... Instant 🔥.
