I actually love Jonathan! Hes very well written. Hes a character with a positive flat arc. He doesn't change intrinsically, but morphs the world around him for the better. Hes a paragon of good and genuinely wants to believe that there is something inside Dio worth saving. My favorite part of Jonathan is how emotional he is! He cries when he thinks he killed Dio in the mansion, again after the pluck battle, and when he dies. Regardless of everytbing that happened he still cared for Dio as his brother.

Some kid came into Jonathans life by fate and ended it utterly. He lived a miserable life, but still chose to be a light. Its very tragic because he didnt ask for any of this, and still chose to do whats right.

Josuke8 being boring is such an abysmal take, from chapter 1 of Jojolion the mystery of his character felt so refreshing and easily kept me engaged through out the story, and his development from wanting to learn about his past to accepting that the past was never him and that he’s living rn with people who support him not the 2 in the past was beautiful, yes araki may have fumbled with the introduction of Toruu, but even than wonder of u really isn’t a bad villain, the start of the vid really through me off, and makes me question what you look for in a character and what you find “exciting” especially with the praise you gave to part 7, with Johnny honestly being one of the most 1 track character in the series

I love part 9 so much so far. I think the vibes are definitely and Jodio feels like he’s really inspired. The difference I feel is that Jodio is the first character that doesn’t follow his “golden path” trope. He isn’t a good person. Yes, Giorno was a mafioso but let’s be fr, he’s a good guy. Jodio isn’t, he’s greedy, he sells drug and is a rather selfish person. But because of that, we as the audience are interested in seeing how he becomes the normal hero that Araki usually writes

Also it needs to be said that Araki did a fucking amazing job in part 7 with taking away hype from diego and dio in general and outting that on Johnny and Gyro The fact that the alternate form of Dio doesn't get as much hype as Johnny or Gyro is a major success for part 7, as it makes sure that it's not just dio's story He was confortable enough to put the world in as well, which still doesn't get as much hype as you'd expect

I feel like most Jojo protagonist arent interesting if taken just by their description, their actions in the story per say sements what we truthly think about them. I see characters like Giorno the same as villans as Tooru, Ok I get you but you are still boring Jodio in particular feels more like the original dio than any other character, he is aware he is mess up and unlike Dio didnt had the excuses of living in abuse. Personally I want the main villan of the part to be Jodio himself betraying everything to become filthy rich, but I doubt people would let a Jojo be a real villan.(tho gappy will probably comeback as one tho)

Jodio is an amazing protagonist He is cool as shit He talks a lot He is a literal psychopath With an interesting af backstory But this is not to say that other protagonists don't have good characters I love Gappy's character, maybe more than Johnny's as well Josuke just doesn't give a fuck and that's cool as shit Also I have a hard time putting Jodio over Joseph and og Josuke, two of the most well-defined characters in the show Right now as a character I'd put Jodio 100% over Giorno and Jonathan It become more unclear with Jolyne Johnny and Gappy but i think he ranks above them I know there's a meme of Jotaro being cardboard but genuinely he has a great character He's the embodiment of badass so rn I'd put jodio like right below or at the same level as Jotaro But ain't no way bro is coming even close to Josuke and Joseph just yet Edit: also to clear up i dont hate Johnny's character but imo he only works as a duo, but when he is in a duo he's PERFECT Just on his own i wouldn't put him above Gappy because I genuinely love how Gappy is on his own But he's 100% above Jolyne And who knows maybe I need to reread part 7 to remember better

Also ngl for me the biggest flaw would be when araki creates a power, immediately realizes its to broken, and then either retcon the power to something else or they just never use that ability again. It happens all the time in jojos and its the only thing that REALLY bothers me about the series. Examples are giornos damage reflection, gappys plunder, hell when valentine is first introduced his stand works in a completely different way then what it ends up being, it was basically a different power that got retconed because it was generally to confusing
