My neighbor has a 10-year-old diesel pusher RV and the controller board that controls the hydraulic jacks failed. He had a heck of a time finding a replacement, and not even the company that designed the board would try to repair the board itself!! He finally found a company that had an earlier design of this board and sold them used for $600 and no guaranty or returns as they were electrical. Fortunately, the replacement board did work but very frustrating, especially since he paid $350k for the bus new.

Dinosaur Electronics can usually rebuild boards like that. Worth a check on that!

I agree with spending the funds to replace an old unit due to safety, that's the way it is. Other things are just have just been discontunued. I been trying to find a cold water fill valve for my 6200 Washer for over a year since calling Splendide and they said parts are no longer available for that one. I like the older units that are more mechanical and not digital, with a main electrical board to go out and now the whole thing is dead. I had water in one of the lines when gone away for 2 weeks in freezing weather and the valve split then leaked after. Some JBWeld helped to get back operational but a towel under the valve is still needed for drips 😞 Anyone parting out one of these washers with a working valve they'd like to sell would be helpful 👍 Like the videos, always great info 😊

I'm at the time waiting on my 20 yr old DeWalt -slide out controller to be rebuilt in the state of Ohio because of just that company no longer in business, new part number but no part to be found, even at an RV salvage place.

Had a 2002 Pace Arrow, ABS light came on and played hell getting the splitter assembly.

This is my everyday carry meter for RV work. It has AC and DC current and voltage, it also reads capacitors and can read temperature. amzn.to/3JdN8Cm

I can understand that on furnaces Although the cracks can be mig welded and we have c02 and carbon monoxide detectors now I diddnt know about the mercury in the stove manifolds but we got mercury in the thermostats on the walls but im immortal as i drank from garden hoses and ate worms as a kid lol I grew up in the 60s so im used to fixing stuff and our old car owners manuals told us how to grease things and adjust the valves ect Now the owners manuals tell you not to drink the battery acid ? So what they got now a 5 year degree to tap an A/C and add R 12 or whatever freon to it so it will last another 30 years ?

30 years in building engineering and yes I get it things go out dated. Got it! But I have a customer with a 2019 yes 2019 5th wheel with a suburban oven and he forgot to lock the oven door and in transit it broke the outer glass. Remember 2019. Come to find out his unit is discontinued and no parts available. On a 2019! That’s just ridiculous.

US corporations like to change their design and model every few years, provide you with a “great” 10 year parts warranty and when it breaks after eight or nine years, good luck trying to get parts or service. They want to sell you a new model.

Do some leg work yourself, however, because I found the manufacturer of parts that I was told were no longer available and was able to get them when the service department of an RV dealer told me parts were discontinued and no longer available. I have also found that some parts discontinued or no longer sold by an OEM are compatible with third party parts, sold under a different part number, and sometimes used by another OEM under their name and part numbers.
