Currently have my water heater out to replace the water connections, and looking at all this as I have it out. So much detail and what a great video! I also learned some good info at store about PEX connections. But after watching a video that didn't show detail like this, I was about to spend more money than necessary. Thankfully another shopper showed me a better solution, and less expensive. The PEX crimper is very expensive tool for a 1 time use. Hopefully I will have your water tomorrow for Thanksgiving day! Thank you again. Anxious to watch your other videos!

Thank you for such detailed explanations. Please tell me, I have a problem and I can't understand what the reason is, my thermostat from Coleman has a relay and when I turn on the heater this relay clicks 2 times and sometimes it happens that it clicks 1 time the heater starts up and heats up and then clicks again and stops and works randomly, I tried to install a new thermostat but it didn't help me, the heater is in perfect condition it is 100% working and was tested with different components

Amazing how a leaky pop off valve, caused so much, but like you say, a neglected water heater. Just going through this on my recent purchase of a travel trailer, which during the back flush a lot of calcium material came out, and because the anode rod was almost at the wire, I'll have to check more things. Thanks for the video. Learned more.

Great video for sure. Really awesome. Just got a new for me, 2006 travel trailer where the water heater LP works, and DC, but have not verified not working on A/C, so this is a great start. Thank you.

Love this video so much .. have been reviewing for last couple of months with exploded view of parts you mention for that make/model/serial - ok so you mention the big orange wire that acts first as a source of arc or like a spark plug but then becomes a source of milliamps through the gap of the electrode .. how does it know to do this? what is the mechanism? I am super keen person who hopes to be an apprentice, even at 55!!

The part where you disconnect the solenoid wires at 18:00 is a major point of instruction. If watching, please make sure your wires are connected properly. Mine were not and as soon as I matched my wires to your video my LP SPARKED! THANK YOU! God bless.

Okay so we have a suburb Sf 35 I replaced the electrode/igniter thing and I have replaced the limit switch. Wasn’t able to get heat. Well I than replaced the circuit board and now it’s engaging like it wants to lite however, I am smelling gas from the exhaust tube and nothing happens. It doesn’t ignite.

Furnaces don't just output CO2 they also output CO, HC and NO depending on the air-fuel ratio. Industrial furnaces. IC engines and boilers have catalytic converters on them. I tune them to 6000ppm CO and 700ppm NO. Post catalytic converter is 72ppm CO and 1 ppm NO. I set the gas pressure using the regulator just like on an RV. For high elevation you can re-jet it or lower the fuel pressure.

Hi Darren. If a sail switch works properly on start-up but intermittantly opens from varying airflow does the furnace immediately fail or is there a time-out delay (such as one or two seconds) before the air/limit fault trips? An example of airflow deviation would be from reduced CFM from a voltage drop from a high current device elsewhere.

Thank you! This video and test was exactly what I needed to make the $ decision to replace my "blocked" Norcold NA10LX cooling unit that I found with choked ventilation. I also went with CoolFunRV you recommended. They work core exchanges and were the least expensive option I could find in the US. I did have a problem with the initial start of the CoolFunRV unit not working at all and freezing up on the return lines to the tank. Note that CoolFunRV does not reply to emails (at all), but after a phone call and quick call back from their technician Sal, I learned that the unit was "back cooling" due to the unit not settling completely after shipment. After a little shaking and a restart, the fridge was down to 35°F in about 6 hours. Yay! Thank You again for this great channel.

Nice, thanks for going into the weeds a bit. I could have definitely kept watching you go on and on for another hour. Maybe that would help me figure out why the fridge keeps running too cold and freezing the top two shelves even with the thermistor slid all the way to the bottom.

Hi, I was just wondering about what you would charge for a hot water heater service. I realize that you can't do it yourself, because I live in Bowling Green, Missouri. But I have a trailer with a Atwood in it, just like the one that you serviced in this video. Thanks for the awesome info. Joe 😊

Aye, sir. Wonderful, articulate, no nonsense video. Similar symptoms and burner condition. The electrodes were touching the burner just like yours. I started to bend it gently and it snapped off, so two parts on order! Looking forward to a warm winter.

Hi there, This video led me to replace my control board as I was not getting power out of the board to the gas valve and the ignitor. After replacing the board I now get spark and the gas lights but goes off after 6-10 seconds. I replaced the ignitor but still have the same issue. It is a Atwood GC6AA-10E. What should I check next?

I would recommend putting Pipe Tape for Gas (yellow) on the fittings to prevent leaks.
@MyRVWorks9 күн бұрын
That's correct for NPT threads (never the first two threads though). But you never, ever, ever, never, never, never, never, ever, ever put Teflon (tape or paste) on a flare fitting. If the flare is properly swedging itself that is your gas tight connection.
