If it's about posting relationships online, then it's just that I feel like relationships should be dealt with privately. Sending a mob of strangers after an ex, or someone you have a dispute with just doesn't sit right with me. I don't even care if you're in the right. You shouldn't get unrelated people involved in your issues. If it's about Mishima, then I also kind of forgot what parallels I was making since I forgot what the drama was about. I remember a little after Joker was announced for Smash Bros I found his channel. While I never interacted with him, his videos served as an introduction to the characters and in-jokes the fandom makes. Afterwards I was put into a domino effect of becoming a Persona 3-5 fan but I could never be there without his channel. It’s unfortunate when who or what inspired you’d turned out to be bad it honestly makes my outlook of what I am as a Persona fan feel unclear to me.

hi, i used to be associated with jamezie during the height of his popularity and even invited him to a podcast me and a few friends were apart of (well, more like my friends, since this was before i became a regular co-host). i never had a bad experience with him and even included one of my tweets for one of his piay episodes (i was minako arisato during the persona says era, which were basically twitter users shitposting as persona characters). that said, i can shed some light about the persona awards situation: the persona awards was an award show thing jamezie created and people had to vote who the best persona character was. if you know about the #goodbyegoro meme, it came from that very award account when akechi lost to naoto. funny stuff, but other than that, it quickly spiraled into fandom toxicity. i remember when kasumi lost, one person started mocking her fans and even her voice actress for no reason other than “she can’t act”. as someone who interviewed laura post for the aforementioned podcast, i was REALLY pissed. unfortunately, jamezie kinda participated in the fandom wars. since he hated makoto after the breakup with mel, he was contemplating not including makoto and even mocked her fans in the persona awards account. he got a lot of push back and stuff included makoto against nanako, which the latter ultimately won. it was a huge mess altogether. i haven’t interacted with jamezie for a long time and probably never will after everything that went down. i really hope he actually takes accountability for what he did to mel instead of blaming everyone but himself. and it’s a shame because i loved his dumb videos (i honestly prefer the text to speech style videos over ai voices). it’s a shame he turned out like this. also small correction: jamezie used tts, not an ai voice generator.

I remember the Persona Awards, I was there. Stayed up late just to wait for the polls to go up. It WAS very toxic. So many people were so riled up everytime their blorbo lose and the amount of violent tweets I see over them was rediculous. But even though, it felt like a "you just have to be there" moment, especially with all the voting tournaments that's happened on the internet for the past couple of years. It's really wild learning what we got about Jamzie. I was very disappointed about him after this video but thank you for making this.

The persona character awards was such a good experience. The #goodbyegoro trend was awesome. I remember when he tried to do the second annual awards, and how quickly it got shut down, and I was really sad about that. The whole awards show really brought the fandom together, at least on Twitter. I knew there was drama going on at the time (I had access to his private account so I saw all his private tweets) but I hoped it would stay personal. I’m sad about the loss of the persona awards but I’m glad for what we got.

The relationship drama seems like pretty general break up stuff, both parties seem to have had their own issues. The only special thing about it really is the fact that it was all aired publicly, probably since the whole thing had to do with the communities on the internet, when it would’ve probably been better if it stayed between the people who it actually concerned. Obviously the way James acted wasn’t great but it sounds like he was at the time somewhat codependent and losing that relationship with the person you held very dear is a shock that can really make you act pretty erratically. I have a lot of empathy for both sides here, it seems both truly had their feelings hurt in different ways. Break ups are usually messy and not black and white by nature, hopefully both parties are doing better and have also grown from the experience

Keyword being aims, I do not think he was aiming to do that (I have forgotten the details of this case and won’t be rewatching because I just don’t care that much. However I don’t recall it sounding like he wanted to maker her feel like shit). I don’t think I am being naive. Thing is I’m not even trying to defend him, he was a shitty boyfriend, there was simply nothing that would indicate it was intentional and instead just a by product of being insecure and immature, therefore not abuse. I have witnessed actual abusive relationships and I’m just frustrated by people throwing very serious words around lightly, because it undermines their meaning. I’m sick of having to second guess people talking about extremely serious situations because so many others have bastardised the words. I want to believe real victims! And thing is, the relationship does not need to have been abusive for her getting out of it to be a good thing. Sometimes no crime is involved but a relationship or one party in it is just shitty and toxic, and that is obviously harmful and the person should absolutely distance themselves. Every abusive relationship is shit but not every shitty relationship is abuse. I want to keep believing those who are victims of abuse, I do not want “abusive” to become a synonym of “toxic”

James very much comes off as a gaslighter and manipulator. He shifts all the blame onto his ex without any evidence, tries to tell his ex that she's selfish and everything's her fault, stalks her, claims he doesn't care about the haters when he very much does (enough to make a Twitlonger about it), and yet he still has fans to this day due to the fact that all of this is rather unknown to the general public. I think if he had provided evidence of his ex's stalking behavior, things would be different, but as it stands now, all the evidence stacks against him. His content is funny, but everything that happened with him just leaves a sour taste in my mouth whenever I try to watch his videos. So, I appreciate you bringing this all to light. I knew about his behavior before this video, but only really skimmed through the doc so I'm sure I missed some important details. I hope his ex is doing better now. No one should have to go through a toxic relationship.

This was looked down upon by everybody and he ended up making his account private. He might've also said some racist stuff but again, I don't remember exactly.

I started getting into Persona a bit before Joker was revealed into Smash. Once 2019 began, his videos popped up on my feed. I enjoyed them so much that I subscribed. I still remained subscribed after his total disappearance but was contemplating unsubbing at the end of this year if he hadn’t returned by then. But now, I think I’m unsubbing tomorrow. Also, his last video he ever uploaded was “Persona 5 Arena”. At around the beginning of the year, that video, along with several others and his entire community page just disappeared out of nowhere. Then, during the summer of this year, everything about his channel was deleted. Since then, his subscribers have been steadily leaving.

Sorry to anyone who enjoyed his stuff(even I used to watch it) but I will not shed a single tear for his disappearance. He tried to play the victim against someone who was battling cancer Mel tries to back way from him and he was very clearly projecting all his insecurities onto her. It’s seemed he had a fragile ego cause he could’ve just dropped the whole but instead wrote a whole Twitlonger that despite his claims seemed to be to paint a target at Mel and the ShuMako community not a great look. And most people at large that aren’t part of that part of the Persona Fandom just shrugged it off not thinking it all that major and keep enjoying his content but then he gets into with Persona 1/2 part of the fandom and makes another Twitlonger that’s very similar and with such winning statement as "Hey P1/2 fans? If you love Persona so much then that means you love P3/4/5 as well ya hypocrites!" Like wow man! Which apparently was the point he decided not to screw around in the Persona Fandom anymore as if realizing he couldn’t keep making himself out to be the victim every time he got mad at a part of the fandom And full disclosure I am a Makoto fan and a ShuMako shipper and am even in the Discord server that was mentioned in this video the "ShuMako Hive Mind" as he characterized it so I freely admit to being biased to Mel’s side on this issue. But c’mon there’s a lot more evidence against him than her here.

The dude had some decent videos and I don't think he's a 'bad person' or anything, but he clearly had some pretty severe maturity issues. It just reads like a desperate teen/young adult that got a little too obsessed with a relationship and made the mistake of bringing it online and relating it to fandom drama. It doesn't come across as abusive so much as pathetic, I'm sure he has/will move on just fine. I'm honestly not sure if airing out this drama in video form (especially entire private messages) is really in anyone's best interests though? I’m still confused , what did he do wrong? Like personal drama happens all the time and people have two sides of a coin and friends are going to look at the best of you instead of the worst even though you might be flawed. In a depressive state also you say and do things that might not make sense but aren’t from a bad heart. Ie not bad intentions. Like I am reading the comments and Everyone is saying I know what he did was wrong and it’s sad but I watched the video twice I still don’t understand what he quote on quote did wrong? I am skeptical of the Mel situation despite someone quote on quote coming forth. I personally have had things happen to me and people say bad things about me that aren’t true and those peoples friends just repeat it. But if you asked anyone who knew me they would just be like ya that doesn’t sound right and also they have more context about me and my character. Basically Jamie was a clingy ex who wrote a twitlonger about a group of ppl attacking him, without much or any evidence. A friend of his ex then made their own with evidence of what he has done that he didn’t mention in his post. Essentially both stories more or less lined up, with Jamie only including the things she did to paint himself the hapless victim while the friend posted what Jamie did with evidence. He was a clingy ex who harassed someone with cancer cuz he couldn’t get over her, and either sent mean tweets or dms directly, or vaguely alluded to her. She did the same, but from captured screenshots he was shown as more aggressive and bitter than she was. He attributed all of it to fandom drama in his post, while covering up his own actions. Later on he talked about being attacked by the P1-2 fanbase over some Twitter competition he put on, seemingly because they believed he had a bias against P1-2 and was likely having it effect the win/sabotaging the competition. He could be telling the truth but considering his past actions hiding his own actions and blaming it all on fandom drama, he could be lying since he’s been outed as willing to do that. Either way, he left the internet afterwards. It could be cuz of the drama of internet fame, burn out, and/or the fact lots of ppl didn’t like him anymore. He could’ve left for his mental health. Since he seemingly wasn’t chased off the platform. Or he was, cuz he wasn’t lying about P1-2 fans (personally I think he is).
