As my late friend said about him “loveable old disaster that wanted to open the windows of the church for a breath of fresh air as he called it, and let in a hurricane.”

What rubbish you talk. He was one of the greatest popes. Holy & loving. He lived the true message of Christ. I have no doubt he was chosen by Holy Spirit. The conservative wing of the church didn’t like him because he put the true meaning of Christs message before the man made rules of the Church. He makes me so proud to be Catholic.

Constantine and the popes transformed Christianity from a faith rooted in spiritual truth into a political power, merging pure doctrine with political ambitions. This shift deviates from biblical teachings, which do not grant the pope ultimate authority. For example, when Cornelius bowed to Peter, Peter instructed him to stand, saying, "I myself also am a man" (Acts 10:26). This humility contrasts starkly with the claims of the pope as "Holy Father" with supreme authority. The practice of transubstantiation also raises questions. This doctrine, rooted in Aristotelian metaphysics, suggests that bread and wine become Christ's literal body and blood-a concept not explicitly found in Scripture. In John 6:63, when disciples were troubled by Jesus’ words about eating his flesh and drinking his blood, Jesus clarified, "It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life." This statement emphasizes the spiritual meaning of his words, not a literal interpretation. Additionally, Leviticus 17:10-14 forbids consuming blood, a command Jesus would not contradict. If Christ is now glorified, no longer confined to flesh and blood, how could he require believers to consume physical elements representing his sacrifice? The Catholic priest, a sinner like all of us, cannot command the Almighty into bread and wine, which remains subject to decay, unlike Christ in his glorified state. Jesus himself said, "the flesh profiteth nothing," further challenging the logic behind physically eating his body.

But his dying request to stop the council was not headed! Do you really believe as is implicit in Vatican II, that Buddhists can achieve a perfect state of liberation without the sacraments or sanctifying grace? Do you really believe your Catholic ancestors that were kings or duke sinned by using civil government coercion to prevent the public practice of false religions and the public worship of false god? Do you really believe that the Jews who put to death those who worshiped the golden calf sinned? These are some of the conclusions implicit in the unintentional doctrines of Vatican II.
