Whoa, whoa, whoa. Incorrect. You lost me at 6:49. You either 1) haven't played the Undead Campaign for the Frozen Throne, 2) Haven't played it long enough to remember it, or 3) you're biased toward Illidan. Firstly, you cast aside him obtaining the Skull of Guldan as some sort of inconsequential improvement to his abilities, capacities, and power. That's not how this work, Illidan gained the strength of demons, of Fel. You can't dismiss that. Secondly, and most importantly, Arthas' connection to the Frozen Throne was damaged and Ner'zhul was substantially weakened when he cast out Frostmourne. That is huge, it's the whole POINT of the entire Scourge Campaign: The power of the Lich King was WANING. Illidan was STRONGER than he started and Arthas was WEAKER: And Arthas WON. This wasn't "a specific scenario". It was a 1v1, mano y mano battle and Arthas pulled out on top. If you wanted to argue that Arthas won because of his own training as a paladin, and not the strength imbued to him by Ner'zhul, you could say that. But you didn't. I'm not impressed. That was absolutely and unequivocally wrong.

If you think so, you need to go replay WC3. During the dialogue between Arthas and the LK before the final mission, Ner'Zhul fully restores Arthas' powers AND boosts them further. This is possible because of Arthas' proximity to the Frozen Throne, and Ner'Zhul does it because he's desperate. At the time of their duel, both of them have gotten massive powerboosts since their fight in Felwood during the 3rd War. And yes, Illidan was absolutely demolishing Arthas in their duel when he was actually trying to fight, instead of gloating. Go read Arthas: Rise of the Lich King (the most current and "most canon" source of the story). Illidan was winning easily, before he let his guard down and started trashtalking Arthas and boasting about his own powers (which as you know, was when Arthas seized the moment and managed to land a near-vital blow).

You forget to mention the ARMOR that Death Knights favor: Saronite, a special metal that counters magic as well as several abilities that make Death Knights powerful magic-counters in lore. A.) Saronite will block a lot of the incoming magical brunt of it, and several runic abilities will also stop the major incoming damage of a spellcaster and turn the energy into runic power to use against the caster. 9 time out of 10 a Death Knight will win against ANY class, even a Paladin, seeing how Saronite does a especially great job at not only blocking light magic, but also reflecting it. And as you said, close combat, casters are fucked. Death Knights SPECIALIZE at closing distances and getting close. From binding you to the ground with frozen chains, to lassoing you with shadow magic and pulling you into range for his deadly runeblades. Demon Hunters WILL have a fair chance against Death Knights, but the rest... well, they are screwed.

Demon Hunters wont be able to penetrate the Death Knight's armor. Also they are directly countered by frost magic, since it counters ther agility and movement, which is the biggest strenght of a Demon Hunter. Also since DK's lorewise are able to fight paladins they have FTL combat speed and reactions.

Hmm you either don't like Death Knights or ignored their lore. A spell caster would beat a DK? You forget that DKs are made to withstand magic damage as dps? Blood for melee? They counter all dps maybe hunter would be an issue because they do range physical damage (see sylvanas vs arthas. She was able to fight him off for a bit and poison him easily even before she became a banshee she gave him so trouble). I think you should check again and re do this video.

I don't know about countering holy magic. Holy magic is like the one thing that hurt them. But it at best puts them on a level playing field. Any other magic user though, yeah. He was talking about range but they would just get death gripped. Remember jaina trying to fight the lich king in halls? I think I also remember a dev saying that frost dk's are colder than frost mages. But I think the two classes the dk would struggle with would be Paladins and Demon Hunters. But they would struggle just as much.

Saronite which according to the lore reflects magic of all kinds but most notably holy magic. Its also the reason that Acherus in lore is the most powerful necropolis ever constructed, not even Naxx which as we know is very powerful can even stand a chance against Acherus.

When comparing the Death Knight and the Demon hunter you were focusing more on the melee combat and not on their spells yet you included Demon Hunter's spells.. What's the deal? Death Knights can literally melt the flesh off their opponents bones, (Necrotic strike/plague, and Death and Decay) and can chill the air so cold, and so fast that it stops a person from being able to take a breath. (remorseless winter) Yes, Demon Hunters are fast, and yes they're strong, but if you can't breathe, and your bones and joints are frozen solid, and your skin is melting, and each cut against you heals your opponent (Death Strike), you're going to lose pretty quickly. I wholeheartedly believe Death Knights to be one of the strongest playable classes in the game. (Behind Mages and Druids... Yes.. Ahead of Warlocks..)

Lots of wrong information in this video. 1. On the topic of Arthas vs Illidan. Arthas was actually severely weakened at that moment and was rushing to get to the Frozen throne because it was too late. This is why he left Illidan alive instead of finishing him or raising him. 2. Holy Light is not a great advantage against Death Knights. Against the scourge and undead in general yes. However Gen 3 DKs were manufactured from the ground up to be anti-paladin shock troopers. This is why they were so easily able to raid the Paladin class hall in legion

I was with you until you got to the casters.... Then I decided that I wasted my entire time with this video...... First of all, Deathknights originated as the anti caster. So many tools to counter spellcasters: Anti magic shell, Anti Magic ZONE, Mind Freeze, Strangulate, Death grip and chains to counter mobility, and then on top of all that, Dark Sim to turn the casters own magic against them!! Death Knights are designed to be the ultimate Mage KILLERS. Why does Doron not mention this...... He's under estimating Death Knights. They also use Terror as a weapon. Current Death Knights willpower is incredibly strong. They have lost the ability to feel fear themselves. Against the Burning Legion Death Knights can counter their fel magic easily and turn it against them. They can mercilessly Cut down Demons without fear and cannot be bribed with power from the legion. And lest we forget Kil'Jaeden himself fears Death Knights. That is the reason he has never assaulted the frozen throne with his own forces. He knows his creation the lich king has become so powerful that he created the most powerful form of Necromancy in the cosmos. So powerful infact that anything that lives could be turned into the scourge. With the scourges ability to suck the souls from the living and bend it to their will KIl'Jaeden knew if he had sent his forces they would be killed then turned against him. And since the scourge take the souls of what they kill along with the body the Legion won't get those forces back even though they did not die in the twisting nether. Death Knights are the greatest weapon against the Legion. In my Opinion of course! Man Doron doesn't know what the crap he's talking about....

KJ did not send his forces against Frozen Throne simply because there were hardly any Legion forces on Azeroth at that time. Also nowhere it is stated that DK can kill demons pernamently. On the other hand its know that you cant raise demons which makes demons ultimate counter to death knights.

Being a dk lover, you're really overestimating them, sure they are strong and are definetly anti casters as you said but Ultimate counter to the legion is abit far, sure the SCOURGE itself could be since thier very mechanic works very similar to the legion but sadly theres also too few DK's to make a difference against the legion. Now if it was ARTHAS as LK i'd be inclined to agree. He did take on 6-7 arch type demons alone.

Dont know about your belief of powerful spell casters being a counter to DK's. The vast majority of DK spells are specifically designed to COUNTER casters. Anti-magic shell, Anti-magic zone, Death grip. Chains of ice. If anything, DK's would have an easier time with casters than with other melee all things being equal. DK's are basically hard countered by equal skilled light users like priest and paladins, and arent really soft countered by ANYTHING that is of equal skill. DK's on the other hand hard counter pretty much any casting class, and soft counter other melee in due to armor (rogues) spell breaking (shamans) or endurance (warriors). Basically, if you arent a Paladin or a priest, you need to be individually more powerful than the DK you're fighting.

Lmao and not to mention he completely over-rates demons to begin with. Demons are scary because they come in numbers, and in most cases dont die permanently; E.G. they have nothing to lose from getting themselves killed and thus dont need to hold back. A single demon may kill a ton of innocent people but a stormwind knight could beat a felguard, a pack of imps, a voidwalker, etc. Demon Hunters are literally just dodging attacks and then killing demons with the same weaknesses any other creature has, and rolling the dice hoping the next swing doesnt take their head off like any rogue does. And then they have regen / damage healing / chaos damage but that still relies on their target being vulnerable... a bunch of half naked demons don't compare to a Death Knight in full armor with no sense of pain and a taste of causing pain to others.

Warlock are top 1 for sure But Paladins or Dk are not Even clouse to top. Druids are much more powerful than Paladins or DK. Druids are very clouse to warlock when it comes to power They top 2. Than Shadow Priests are insanely powerful (Top 3) 4. Mages for sure can destroy Paladin or DK Even shamans i think had big advantage over Paladins. They were all trying their magics against it, and the paladin of the group tried with all of his might to do something to the rock to no avail. His light didn't do a SINGLE thing to the saronite. In fact, no-one's magic had an affect on the saronite whatsoever. Loves the videos and I respect your opinion. Just thought I should mention this :D

Lorewise mages have a lot more than damage spells. Mages can travel through time, polymorph their target, simply freeze them instead of actually killing them, teleport themselves and others, and replicate magical abilities including their own. Not to mention that mages are supposed to be very well studied and very smart, much smarter than a regular dk would be. I don't think it would be a stretch to say that mages would have better odds at defeating a DK although it certainly wouldn't be easy.

Death knights are literally unstoppable juggernauts who: 1) Counter spellcasters more than anything else in the warcraft universe. 2) Will make short work of a DH (If we are talking an even match up of a master DK vs a master DH) - heavy saronite armoring + neverending stamina and endurance against light armor and warglaives which are QUITE debetable if they can even pierce through saronite armoring. In the end, DHs are part of the living. They get tired just like anyone else. 3) Are countered only by light wielders. The biggest counter to a DK is a strong paladin who wields the Light. Note: I am a roleplayer and know lore inside and out, and for the record I don't even have a Death Knight in my character list, nor am I interested in playing one. I literally can't stand such misleading nonsense, however. Have my dislike.

Liked. Dk-s are literally warriors with basic magic (rune), and neverending stamina. Also are undead, so bleeds poisons are not much of a threat to them. Unless you grind their body to nothing with a spell or phisicaly they won't stop. There's a reason why everybody is afraid of them.....

I always got the impression that Death Knights of the player generation were, lore-wise, kind of suppose to be anti-mages. With their anti-magic spells and various silencing abilities, most spell casters would be at a disadvantage. Though Warlocks would probably fair better than regular mages since they are traditionally more powerful and being able to call upon demonic aid certainly helps.

You did not mention that DKs are casters as well, can copy spells, have abilities of whatever they were as living and any class can become a DK including your beloved DHs. And some things you made outright wrong: Mistake 1: Guldahn created what we named the first generation of DKS not the very first DKs - the very first DKs were created on Argus from Draenei by the Legion 2. The first gen DKS were not necromancers. They were warlocks 3. there are 4 generations of DKs. The 4th Gen being all DKs created AFTER the Fall of Arthas or raised by necromancers not belonging to the scource. 4. DKs can feel pain. Even arthas was HURT by Sylvannas arrows - its jsut that DKs are way more resilient towards pain. But they can be tortured. 5. Lorewise the only way to kill a DK is by destroying his brain. Everything esle wont matter. 6. Afaik Rune magic was said to use the energy of azeroth itself and thus being capable of theoreticly everything that is possible with arcane magic. if you know the runes you can hurl fireballs arcane bolts or whatever. 7. DHs have experience fighting DEMONS not undead thats a huge difference bro. You dont become a great vermin hunter by hunting elefants. You aint experienced in fishing salmons by fishing whales. Different stories. 8. Dks also get superhuman strength and speed due to their state. 9. Since when can the LK directly empower DKs? its not like you get a LK power buff... 10. You are very biased....very very biased. 11. You do realise that DKs are multiclassing? They are DKs now but were warriors and paladins before - that or other classes (possible though casters are more likely to be raised as liches) 12. DKs are IN SPECIAL effective against mages and warlocks. Saronite armor makes you IMMUNE to magic, thats not "helping" thats winning. Antimagic shield and antimagic shell actually counter magic...they are basicly immune to warlocks and mages. strangulate also helps and deathgrip into a runeblade helps a LOT. dude...really...Priests and Paladins are due to their light spells good against DKs but everything else doesnt stand a chance. Also rune magic can theortically do the same as arcane magic so whatever the mage brings the DK can counter it. Not to mention that some DKs are actually warlocks or mages AND DK on Top so they still ahve access to their spells. 13. Theoreticly a DH can be raised as DK. DKs Win. Every class except Paladin and Druid can become DK AND KEEP their former powers

Reality rune magic uses the ley lines as power source and copies its patterns. Runemasters can do the very same mages can do. And yes mages dont really understand how rune magic works as you only need to know the patterns and how to draw the runes correctly to use them, no innate magic ability needed.

if you do you should check your lore again. first you declared dhs the strongest of all classes then you declared warlocks the strongest of all classes, now you ignore the fact that both DHs and Warlocks can be Deathknights in addition to waht they are...and get a lot of mistakes in your video too. Ultimately ANY class can become a DK. And all classes that become DK can still have their former powers except Druids and paladins. DK win by default

A question, i've come thus far in the arguement and im wondering... You state that a warlock can retain his powers even after his become a Death Knight, but wouldt mastering rune magic, fell magic AND melee combat at the same time be overwhelming? Dosent the fell render the corpse uncompatable to Death Knight raising? Or what about Fell and Necromancy counter effecting eachother in the same body? Or What about the power vanishes from the corpse into thin air and thus lost forever at the time the Warlock is reanimated?... Please debunk my speculations.

A few things I spotted immediately that are wrong. Firstly, you are heavily underplaying the magic capabilities of deathknights. They may not fight as mages or your typical spellcaster, but they wield very powerful magic and are extreamly capable spellcasters. Their magic is strong enough to raise the dead, and with the use of certain runes can even replicate the spells cast by their oponents (Lets not forget that necromancy is actually a school of arcane magic as well.) Secondly, You are greatly undervaluing the fact that deathknights arent only deathknights, but a raised class with previous expirience in combat. An extreamly powerful warrior raised as a detahknight suddenly becomes an even deadlier force, and this applies to pretty much all other classes.

That is the case though. They wield magic but only to a certain extent. Their magical abilities are not near a level of a warlock for example. Some mages and warlocks have many years of experience and study, while the death knights were only that for a couple of years and if they were a warrior they were never in touch with magic. Secondly I did say that they are powerful warriors + the spells. It is obvious that they were something in the previous life, otherwise Arthas would not have picked them.

Doronsmovies I can agree to the fact that their magic would not be on par to a powerful warlock, however their magic is powerfull, even when compared to a mage, afterall they simply have a different method of use, it is still the same magic (rather than directly focus on casting spells they empower themselves, their strikes, raise the dead and occasionally will sling a spell or two as seen with death coil and howling blast.) Something intresting I would like to point out is that death knights seem to have some kind of inherent knowledge on how to cast spells as soon as they are risen, (DK class hall campaign Spoiler) As seen with nazgrim as soon as he is raised (Spoiler ends) that might be something intresting to look into. I think we can both agree that the power of a death knight itself can be very subjective as it HEAVILY relies on who they were before being risen into undeath. This is further supported by the class hall campaign in legion and how we choose our champions.

Must mention that Death Knights are the only ones who can wear saronites armors without truning into madness, thoses armors makes them almost invunerable to any light spells, the saronite swords can go through any other type of metal and moreover they can shatter the soul of the poors fools they stab, making it and destructive weapon even against other Undead/Death Knights, not to mention that the Unholy 3rd generation Death Knight were designed to be a destructive force against any spells caster, granting them abilities to literaly annihilate any kind of magic, a power they're the only ones to have in their possession.

Old Horde DK's are the equivalent of a Samsung Galaxy, then you got Arthas who's Galaxy S2, and then all the Ebon Blade DK's who are Galaxy S3 (Just cause I make a bunch of Galaxy S3 phones a day/week/month after their release doesn't make them S4) , Horsemen might be Galaxy S4 because of their unique circumstances of raising and the power/s that did so. But Ebon Blade DK's are still very much S3 since their Developer (Arthas) croaked and Ebon Blade wasn't really in the business of refining the Scourge's works.

I have to disagree with you. Death Knights are probably one of the most, if not THE MOST powerful of the classes. This is even acknowledged by Chris Metzen himself. Let's look at the lore of it and take in to account the current big bad in WoW, the Legion. The Dreadlords and the Legion do not fear any, EXCEPT the death knight. The Lich King and Scourge were created to weaken the forces of Azeroth so that the Legion could invade. When it was realized that the Lich King was no longer under the control of Kil'Jaeden, Illidan was sent to destroy him. Kil'Jaeden knew that the Lich King was going to surpass all in terms of abilities, strength and power(which he did) and Illidan was the only hope. He was defeated by Arthas, a death knight. Call Arthas the Lich King's champion all you like. Going off of your own logic, ALL 3rd gen dks are champions of the Lich King. That title is moot. DKs SPECIFICALLY counter spell casters. In terms of physical ability, they are unmatched. To put it plainly, random death knight vs random mags/warrior/pally/whatever, the inherent powers and abilities of the dk are superior. People have hated the DK since they were introduced.

The biggest thing omitted is Death Knights are walking armies. In game army of the dead ghouls only last a short while but in lore once raised they stay active until they are destroyed. A trip to a graveyard or ancient battlefield can increase the damage potential of any Death Knight hundreds if not thousands of times over. You also didn't get into the process of becoming a Death Knight only the most elite become Death Knights the rest die. This means that every Death Knight you see is already a master level opponent.

Here are some things I would like to clear up as I can't reply to everyone individually in detail: Do note and the reason why I didn't say this in the video is because I thought it would be obvious. This entire series is my opinion based on the lore facts. The thing about Warcraft lore is that it can be interpreted in multiple ways because certain areas are so gray, especially when it comes to magic and abilities of characters. If you disagree with my results that is fine. 1. Aren't Death Knights the most elite class? No, the order that the players are a part of was created with the purpose of cleansing the Plaguelands. Arthas definitely picked best candidates from the fallen champions and as we have seen there were a lot of unworthy initiates. However quantity also mattered to him as he wanted to overpower the Paladins. The Death Knights were not the ultimate super weapon of the Scourge, because as we have seen Arthas betrayed them and was willing to sacrifice them just for Tirion. 2. Aren't death knights best counters for spellcasters? In a way yes, compared to most other classes. They can create anti magic shields and can wear saronite that is very effective at reflecting magic. This, however does not make them invincible, a spell powerful enough can break through anything. The death knights did after all lose the battle against the paladins. Plus what magic shield is going to protect you when a spellcaster summons a massive fireball from the sky that turns into a fel reaver, as Gul'Dan did. As a further example to this the Paladins are able to shield themselves from incoming attacks by the Light but it doesn't mean that the shield can't be bypassed, as we have witnessed at the Broken shore with Tirion. 3. Arthas was weakened and he easily defeated Illidan, how is that possible? The Warcraft 3 lore and the novel lore (which is canon) is a bit different and some things are clearly explained in the book. Near the end Arthas was given all the power Ner'Zhul could spare and was effectively at his most powerful stage. The cinematic that we have seen in the game which Blizzard regrets for not putting in the effort where they swing a few times and Arthas deals the fatal blow is not really accurate. When it comes to the lore Illidan outmatched Arthas in combat skills. 4. Shouldn't death knights be above demon hunters? A demon hunter army led by Illidan destroyed a home world of the Nathrezim (Nathrezim that kept Lich king in check). They also planned to invade Argus, the main base of the Burning Legion where Kil'Jaeden is. The same Kil'Jaeden that created the Lich King who created the death knights. So based on the achievements no, because as far as we know there hasn't been a single mortal race or class to invade and damage the Legion in the way demon hunters did. Lastly, death knights are not invincible immortal killing machines. Many of them have been defeated and destroyed and one of them, Koltira Deathweaver was imprisoned by Sylvanas with not much trouble. Mistake 1: Guldahn created what we named the first generation of DKS not the very first DKs - the very first DKs were created on Argus from Draenei by the Legion 2. The first gen DKS were not necromancers. They were warlocks 3. there are 4 generations of DKs. DHs have experience fighting DEMONS not undead thats a huge difference bro. You dont become a great vermin hunter by hunting elefants. You aint experienced in fishing salmons by fishing whales. Different stories. 8. Dks also get superhuman strength and speed due to their state. 9. Since when can the LK directly empower DKs? its not like you get a LK power buff... 10. You are very biased....very very biased. 11. You do realise that DKs are multiclassing? They are DKs now but were warriors and paladins before - that or other classes (possible though casters are more likely to be raised as liches) 12. DKs are IN SPECIAL effective against mages and warlocks. Saronite armor makes you IMMUNE to magic, thats not "helping" thats winning. Antimagic shield and antimagic shell actually counter magic...they are basicly immune to warlocks and mages. strangulate also helps and deathgrip into a runeblade helps a LOT. dude...really...Priests and Paladins are due to their light spells good against DKs but everything else doesnt stand a chance. Also rune magic can theortically do the same as arcane magic so whatever the mage brings the DK can counter it.

Reality ok thats more than one question ^^ 1) if a DK was a warlock or mage before, though he would more likely has been raised as Lich then, he has the evry same powers he had as mage / warlock in his life just with the addition of DK powers. The only class that looses its prior powers on becoming a DK is a Paladin. Shadow Priests may still work with shadow magic perfectly. 2) a DH can be raised as DK no problem. Anyone can become a DK. 3) afaik the only thing needed to become a DH is to absorb demon souls and using this corruption against them. And theoreticly a DK can totally do that so yes a DH can become a DK and a DK can turn into a DH. 4) Check my channel i do viking type videos ^^ And yes playable vrykhul would be great though there wpuld be hitbox issues due to their size. However in theory humans basicly are vrykhul in the game (just the weak offspring) so...you kinda play a vrykuhl

They can see in 360 degrees, meaning nothing will surprise them. Their mobility would prove a massive advantage. They can take about as much damage as a death knight, depending on which demon they bound. A demon hunter who bound a Wrathguard would eat punches like a fat kid eats cake. Then it comes down to logic. Your average examples of a creature with 50 years of experience versus two creatures, one with 1000+ and the other with 10s of thousands of years - the latter takes the W. Your average DK vs your average DH is already at a disadvantage because he’s fighting in a 2 on 1. It’s like fighting Ironman with a really expensive tank - you might fuckin nail him, but chances are the amount of tools he has at his disposal prove to fuck you up. Maybe you should consider the "rock-paper-scissor" mechanic in RP-games where as the rock is the "tanks" A.K.A. Warriors, Death Knights and Paladins. paper is the "casters" A.K.A. Mage, Priest, Warlock, Shaman and Druid (and Hunter?). Scissor would then be "assassins" A.K.A. Rogue, Demon Hunter and Monk. In this setup: the rocks counter the scissor, because the assassins can't kill the tanks faster than the tank can kill the assassins; The scissors counter the paper because the assassins can sneak up on the casters and take them out before they can begin casting; and the paper counters the rock because armor isn't a factor when it comes to magical damage (and they're too slow to run up close to take them out). So, all in all, the thing you just said in the video directed to the fact that Death Knights are the strongest class within the "rock" category, Demon Hunters are the strongest in the Scissor category and you didn't say anything about the rest but I'm going to assume that the Warlock is the best in the "paper" category. Note: There are more factors than this "rock-paper-scissor" functionality of course. e.g. Holy vs Shadow, Fel vs Nature/Elemental, Frost vs Fire, (Blood vs Arcane?), etc...

I feel like DKs actually counter mages and warlocks. The first generation was specifically designed to wipe out Dalaran, and they did just that. When the death knights attacked Dalaran, they crushed everyone in sight. Third generation death knights also have this ability. Arthas was also capable of crushing Dalaran, however he had the help of Kel'thuzad, the Scourge and the Legion. I feel like a warlock would have a better chance against a DK than a mage would, as they can summon powerful melee demons and use the more powerful fel magic, but I still don't think it would be an easy fight as you said. Paladins would counter death knights, but would also be equally countered. Light and shadow (void) are pretty much equal in strength, they would essentially crush each other.

I'd actually say melee classes have a better chance of countering a death knight than spell casters. Death knights are just made to consume and reflect magic, interrupt casts, slow the opponent down, death grip them, etc. A good warrior on the other hand would just be left to deal with the death knights melee capabilities, as a warrior can't be countered by any anti-magic shell or interrupt.

Becoming undead doesnt disable your ability to wield magic of any kind (see forsaken mages and warlocks) so you can use that as DK if you learned how to. DKs can learn any form of magic but the scourge ones are only trained in rune, frost and blood magic and necromancy but they could learn any magic and if they had learned other magic before they could still use it

Dks are based on fel magic. What we got from the Aszuna qline is that Arcane magic counters fel magic and vice versa. Dk's default Antimagic shell is green indicating it's a shield made of fel magic blocking out arcane based spells, but not really having an effect against fel based ones

Hi, I recently started to watch your channel and I love what you're doing. There is one thing that has been bugging me tho. You mentioned "strong" and "weak" classes several times. Are you sure that's accurate description? I mean, Warriors can't make anit-magic shells and can't raise some ghouls.But basicaly being dead makes you feel no pain, but also makes you lack survival instinct and adrenaline rush and stuff. Also warriors can wield legendary weapons which may make them even with DKs. Take Broxigar and his magic axe. Skilled warrior and good weapon, I bet he could slice some DK in half right through his weapon ArthasXSaurfang style. I feels like it's all the same with mostly non magic classes. You could say hunters are weak class, but they can generally have the same power as demon hunters or mages. The fact that there are propably more weak hunters than mages doesn't change anything about class equality. At least, that is my opinion. Do you agree? If not, how do you feel about this topic?

I have a question I've been wondering about death knights for a while, I'd like to get someone else's opinion: are death knights psychic? To clarify: This is something I wondered about back in the old WCIII-era rpg books, where the lich king was given psionic abilities, but it is sort of backed up by abilities and events observed in lore. The lich king can mentally command the Scourge, of course, even when they were still sentient and seemed capable of grumbling about it. During TFT, the lich king's pain was transmitted to Arthas, and even with Bolvar we see him capable of reaching out and telepathically communicating with the death knights. So the Lich King had a lot of psychic-like powers, and DKs in general are sort of like mini lich kings in terms of how their powers work. As for the Death Knights themselves, they definitely have telekinesis in the form of death grip, gorefiend's grasp, strangulate and asphyxiate (where the DKs show some Darth Vader inspiration), and Mind Freeze and Dark Command also seem to be telepathy-type abilities, in addition to being able to assume DKs control their undead servants telepathically. Within the lore, psychic-like abilities are usually within the domain of shadow magic, which death knights have some associations with in addition to blood, frost and unholy. It would be interesting if they did, since priests are the only other class which really show much that you would call psychic powers. What do you think, could you justify a Death Knight doing psychic-like things? Communicating telepathically and so on?

I strongly disagree with the mage and warlock matchup. The death knight is basically a mage slayer, between antimagic abilities, deathgrip and debuffing, it's almost impossible for evenly matched casters to defeat a death Knight. In lore at least.

What you didn't know? Blood dk is making a comeback in pvp in the upcoming patch. Also its not usually easy to kill a blood dk even as a caster.

Definitely downplaying Death Knights. The lore says they are the most powerful. This seems a little bias to protect your own loved classes which i get, but Gameplay is a whole different thing so we can still enjoy other classes. Lorewise a Dk Stomps any class. The strongest adversary would be either a priest like velen or a powerful necromantic lord like kil'jaedan. Two ends of the spectrum. Out of all the classes they stand the tallest due to their damage mitigation for all types of assault.

2: this depends on the person. Arthas raised a dragon even before he became the lich king, not to mention Sylvanas lol, he was extremely powerful with spells. You also forgot that they can be raised again and again. death has no meaning for them.

Hey Doron, I've got a question about Death Magic, that I've seen allot of disagreement about (Usually me and other people) Though I can see that Death has it's own force, I think what other people call "Death magic" is just using shadow magic tapping into the force of Death/Undeath. What do you think about this?

Huge fan of the channel! First off I wanted to say I loved the video and was super glad to see it pop up on my dash! I main a Death Knight myself and agree with a lot of this video though I had a few disagreements. Maybe it's because I'm a newcomer to the Warcraft lore but I feel like I'd have to disagree with Death Knights being on par with most spellcasters. They seem to be built with countering spellcasters in mind. Their shields, their deathgrip and even their asphyxiate abilities attest to this. I feel like any ability that would destroy a Death Knight like the ones you mentioned such as dropping a massive fel meteor on them would... also kill the caster themselves because they'd be dragged in with them as for Demon hunters I agree it'd be a very close match and depending on the user themselves and metamorphosis would definitely give the Demon hunters a big edge. Anyways, sorry if I'm rambling but I had a bit of a dumb question for the new expansion! Death knights can absorb souls into their runeblades, right? Doesn't a Demon's soul escape into the Twisting Nether when it dies? Would this ability to steal souls apply to a Demon's soul as well? If so do Demon Hunters have their own variation of such magic? It'd be really useful against the Legion. Anyways, sorry for my rambling and dumb question. Big fan.

Death knights do feel pain and fatigue, one of the opening missions for death knights has you rescuing a DK from scarlet torturers, he expresses pain, fatigue, and even internal bleeding.

Most of that was because of the light, the Scarlets were all light users, and the reason why light hurts so much is because it reanimates the dead cells, letting the undead FEEL how rotten and decayed they are. So normal methods are not going to cause a Death Knight pain, it needs to be holy.

Ok firstly Arthas was actually weakened due to the damage the frozen throne had taken and only just regained his power for the length of the fight. Illidan in a weaker state knew that his only time to take down Arthas was before he became one with the throne. If it were a matter of Illidan training and gaining power to defeat Arthas he would have simply waited. Note that after Illidan had time to recover and fight countless demons he never went back to oppose Arthas.

Arthas had not been locked up for 10,000 years, okay, but he also did not have the combat experience of Illidan, who was much older, and also, the latter had a lot of time to recover his skill, before fighting Arthas. And you forgot to mention their ability to create pests and diseases.

As a Deathknight main, i disagree with the mage/warlocks being good vs deathknights Learn a players pattern, pop anticaster spells, win. Like vs a frost mage that ice blocks and blinks, wait out the block where they're going to tp, if they go the opposite direction, wraithwalk>deathgrip>wait for anyspell cast>mindshatter>win

Uther would have actually won that fight. He kicked the shit outa Arthas. But he was taunting Arthas. He said something about Invincible I think and that set Arthas off and he went crazy. If not for that Uther was about to smash his face. "Again I may be wrong, it's been awhile since I read the book but I think it was his horse Invincible that Uther taunted him with".

Here's how you kill Mages and Warlocks as a DK, you go Frost, pop Anti-magic Shell, Death Grip and then Obliterate twice, Howling Blast and finish with Frost Strike. Realisticly there are only two classes that a Death Knight would struggle against, and those are Demon Hunters and Paladins, especially Vengeance DH and Protection Pala, and especially if you're a Blood DK, since that would be a next to an endless battle.

Demon Hunters have obscenely high mobility, whereas DKs have obscenely low mobility. This means that a DH can kite a DK, then hit and run constantly. Rogues use similar tactics, but DHs pack a stronger punch.

SatanicFurry Freeze, deathgrip, chains of ice, slow, Ghulstun....DKs have options to rob someone of their mobility. But the main factor here would be actual armor and rune weapons vs glaives and nudeness from a more realistic view. And lorewise DHs had little training so far as there wasnt the time while DKs had good training as DK AND weere well trained Warriors / paladins / mages / warlocks before

It's easy to tell by the way you are talking that you don't care for the death knight class, but they would be more then a match for a demon hunter particularly a death knigh specializing in frost magic, if you take a demon hunters mobility (literally there main asset for fighting demons and creatures much larger/stronger then them) you cripple the class. And if they have to fight up close the death Knights unholy strength would prove far to much for them.
