Jaina pretty much took lordaeron from the horde alone. The aliance failed miserably in taking the city. Jaina stoped the blight, put down the walls of the city and even saved the asses of 3 aliance leaders during another coward attack from sylvanas

Tyrande is basically a demi-goddess if she decides to use the full power of Elune that is granted to her, she is Elune's chosen but she prefers to serve humbly instead of using the full potential of her abilities.

Man, the Alliance has some real power houses. The Horde needs its champions like Rexxar, Thrall and so on to stand a chance. Still bugs me she didn't teleport the Alliance out of the Broken Shore since she was present.

To be frank, it does not look like push comes to show for Khadgar when it comes to factions. He only showed up in Legion to fight the Burning Legion. He allied with the Horde and Illidari as well. He does not care about factions, only a threat that is dangerous to all of Azeroth.

I think if they are writing Sylvanas to be the big new threat for Azeroth that is really weak and boring writing. As for Khadgar he certainly did not care enough to show up at the Siege. And afaik there been no hints he will show up later either. In the beta, he was not even there to my knowledge. Nah, the more likely scenario is that Old Gods become the new threat and then maybe he shows up. As for Sylvanas, you got some things wrong and other things you just assuming things? she did not kill the innocents just to prove a point. Sure her original plan was to occupy it, but burning it served the same effect i.e taking away an important place for the Alliance. Ultimately her actions lead to a Horde dominated Kalmidor and that means the Forsaken can survive. Without the Horde, the Forsaken would die out. After all, they too few and weak on their own. First of all, it was hardly thousands on that battlefield, and secondly, it was not just to turn them into skeletons. It was to stop Alliance advance on the city. They were outnumbered and outpowered, the only way they had a chance was the blight. Say whatever you want about Sylvanas, but she is a successful general. Far as I can tell unless you can show me definite proof of otherwise. It isn't her plan to literally turn everything into the undead. She just wants the Forsaken to not die out. If that was the plan she would have used the blight all the time everywhere. She would have been using it at the Wrathgate herself, instead of being betrayed. At Telldrassil she would of raised everyone if that was her plan, but she did not. Even at the siege of Lordaeron, she didn't even raise many, it was a dozen at most. I mean cmon there was far more undead in Western Plaguelands zone lol. No, way more were simply killed by the Blight and not raised. Think about it, Sylvanas is not stupid. It would make no sense to turn everyone into mindless skeletons. They are weaker than your average warrior. The reason she raised them at the siege of Lordaeron was that she had to use the blight anyway to not be overrun and if they are already dead, might as well use some of the corpses to fight the Alliance, stalling them a little while she prepare for the next stage. Not doing so is akin to not using resources you possess, which is just foolish in war. So no, I disagree with you. Regardless, what we think is sadly ultimately irrelevant. Blizzard seems to little care what fans actually want and just do what Blizzard want instead. Nor are they very consistent in the lore. I suppose we will see over the next few months, but probably wont get anything new and conclusive until 8.1 unfortunately.

Okay... but how powerful is she? Is she the strongest human mage around right now? Also people underestimate how much strenght it took to raise that ship. Not only did she have to raise a ship weighing tons, a normal sailing ship was capped at 14.000 tons and this ship seemed bigger, she also had to displace the water around the ship AND lift the water in the ship. She easily had to use over 100.000 tons of force. That is insane

Jaina was trained by Antonidas, given power by Aegwynn (Medivh's mom), and wields a staff charged with Ra-den (Titan power). Jaina was weaker before, but she's definitely stronger now.

Just to illustrate how powerful Jaina has always been, she was able to use mass teleportation in lore during the events of w3 - to elaborate mass teleportation is a skill that in lore as opposed to the games, is extremely rare and only really talented and powerful mages are capable of such a feat it is similar to how resurrection is extremely rare and reserved to special characters in lore. And since then she was empowered by Agewyn in Cycles of Hatered, spend time with her being Jainas advisor, she was affected by pure arcane power of the mana bomb (her changed hair and eye is a visible effect but how else did it affect her) as mentioned she has the Staff of Andtonidas and gained some other artifact in the form of a gauntlet that she uses in the Battle for Lorderon cinematics.

she's as powerful as she needs to be to drive the narrative. Apparently can Tsunami Orgrimmar but cant blow a zepplin down over Theramore. Can Teleport an entire warship, levitate it, and fire weapons from it, but needs to run away from arthas and takes her a minute to blow up an ice wall.

nah. Its a common problem called power creep. They keep creating these scenarios that require greater and greater nonsense to overcome yet the cast remains mostly static. so you end up in situations where a character is suddenly God like in order to resolve a narrative corner the writer has painted himself into. Foresaken Blight all over the place but you still need the Alliance to chalk up a 'W'? have super mage appear out of nowhere and solve all your problems. Now that this particular gauntlet is down, fully expect some epic bullshittery to enable Sylvanas to be OP as fuck. Wont surprise me if she suddenly starts doing Lich King stuff just cause.

not the point i was getting at. Before that scene she showed to ability to arbitrarily teleport whole groups of people instantly. but kinda forgot she could do that for that fight. Like i said. her powers are driven by narrative. she is as powerful, or NOT as powerful, as the narrative calls for regardless of logical consistency. Jaina is a staunch Alliance member, and currently one of the more bloodthirsty ones at that. So why the hell would Anduin be surprised that she would show up to help do battle at Lorderaon of all places when she should have been, from the very beginning, a key part of its planning? Thats like if the US went to war and didnt bother to ask the air force if it would come as well.

With the spell she used to freeze the blight she could kill an entire army alone. In that cinematic you can see that the frostwave killed undead creatures instantly who are supposed to be highly resistant to cold.

I think that chief of the Alliance should be Jaina and for Horde should ve Saurfang. I like Sylvannas very much, but she lost herself so much, have no mercy for anything and more importantly honor on her actions. I'm expecting some kind of riot against Sylvannas from the Horde in near future.

@Mario Cupeiro Yea bro, book Malfurion is built different for sure. He is quite literally one of the strongest BEINGS, not just mortal beings. He pretty much single handedly defeated the legion in wota and again pretty much single handedly destroyed the nightmare lord (which even Ysera couldn't fight). Obviously other players contribute, but Malfurion does 95% of the heavy lifting in both wars. He also defeated Deathwing back in wota. The man has single handedly saved all of Azeroth... Three times. He is the most downplayed/underated character in all of the warcraft games. It's a shame really.

I remember that Gul'dan killed 3 orcs using magic in seconds, i was wondering if Lothar could beat him, the human warriors are normal humans? or can they become superhumans? to resist magic spells for instance

She’s canonically the most powerful sorcerer/mage alive. Also, in the Hearthstone card “Lich Queen Jaina”, the lore states that if Jaina had in fact joined Arthas instead of leaving him at Stratholme that she would have became Lich Queen - she was more powerful than Arthas (obviously). But Lich Queen Jaina would’ve undoubtedly been 1000x worse than Arthas ever could be.

I don't think Thrall stand much of a chance against Jaina at this point in time, since the elementals have mostly abandoned him. He'd have to rely on his strength and skill as a gladiator.

True but there is no reason to assume that he didn't regain his favor with elements,he is best shaman on azeroth so elements would forgive him in time(but I think that his use of shamanism in fight with Garrosh is justified)

Well, we know that at the beginning of Legion the elements still haven't forgiven him. That was the whole reason why enhancement shamans got the Doomhammer, because the elements didn't allow Thrall to wield it. Maybe they'll forgive him in time but the elements clearly don't appreciate Thrall abusing their powers in a Mag'gora.

He himself felt inadequate. The elements had nothing to do with it. He did not abuse his powers in the Mok'gora. If that was the case then he would have lost his powers after their first Mok'gora in Cata. He used elemental powers then too when they fought. Until he feels worthy of using the elements again he will not regain his powers. I personally do not know if the elements on Draenor from an alternate timeline are the same as the ones on Azeroth.

The difference is Sylvanas has been seeking revenge since day one and has only sought after selfish needs. Jaina has tried repeatedly to achieve peace even after multiple betrayals. Sylvanas is going up against her own family and blood, that is how corrupt her mind is. Jaina wanted peace but true peace between all races is impossible.

Sylvanas had her sisters and family. She instantly went on a selfish revenge run after she was freed from arthas. She has had plenty of moments to atone for her actions but she has always only sought after her own desires. She had plenty of support and Jaina did not have Kalecos or Anduin until recently. Jaina lost her family and people when she let her father die. She did not slaughter her family. Sylvanas is the emo teenage acting one while Jaina is the more adult rational thinking of the two.

People seem to forget that the orcs were *driven to create* the Portal by the Legion and thus began the 1st war. Why then does literally nothing happen in Outlands? If the orcs are done, if they just want peace, why do they not just go back to the Outlands? I haven't followed the story in a long time, so if I am missing something please explain.

Outlands exploded from all the portals being created. This is why Turalyon and Alleria had to leave and were "lost" for a while. Outlands is mostly inhabitable. This is why the Orcs need a new home or world to call home. After the explosion of Draenor is when burning crusade happens. I know on the Alliance side there are quests in hellfire peninsula that talk about what happened before we arrive etc.

Ya that is where I am not sure or if it is just an oversight on Blizzards end. Airships back then were not that common or advanced though. Remember that the Draenai eventually became the broken ones etc. Not all life ended when the planet exploded some survived. Some of the horde and other races were able to go into portals and come back after the explosion.

for the guys saying that the horde doesnt have enough firepower against Jaina lets remember that the actual aspect of earth is Thrall, sylvannas has a power equal to lich king nowadays, silvermoon is strong enough to make even the undeath army of arthas have some trouble and according to the lore, aparently, our last warchief is now a Loa so, jaina is powerfull, yeah, but the coin flips both sides, dont think that if a war wages it will be one sided

Sylvanas has a long way to go before she's equal to the Lich King. Hell one of her main plot points is that she can't do a lot of the stuff he could, such as making Val'kyr. Thrall got depowered hard during Legion. Silvermoon got 90% of their population wiped out by Arthas, I'm not really sure if that qualifies as 'having some trouble'. And I don't know if we have any clue what's really happened to poor Vol'jin yet (may he rest in peace). Fuck, the strongest member of the horde was probably the player character till they got depowered at the end of Legion. But then again, the alliance player character was pretty far up there too.

I'd say that the only other Mage that could challenge her is Kahdgar, after all he's the current Guardian, and as such is very powerful, other mage's wouldn't be able to com close to her abilities.

Without sounding rude. "One of the most powerful mages on Azeroth" is hardly news. How does she compare to say.. Kalecgos, Khadgar or Thalyssra for example?

Thalyssra literary said that Jaina is too powerful and they should run from her during the Stockade escape. Kalecgos is a blue dragon so he might be stronger than Jaina, maybe. I believe she is stronger than Khadgar since by the end of the thunder isle her staff absorbed the powers of the thunder king who is said to be slightly more powerful than the lich king. I would say that she is tied with queen Azhara.

Honestly...the only people I could be at least FAIRLY sure about being stronger than her are Khadgar....but well Guardian thing....and that's a coin toss tbh considering he had access to the whole Karazhan thing. but Hands down more powerful than Jaina? Azshara no contest even back when she was "just " an elf she was what several Millenia old and Illidan noticed how stupidly powerful her magical aura was when he had recently gotten his eyes. And then there's the whole sundering, turning into a naga schtick....and the 10.000 years that've passed since she may not hve been active much or nearly at all... but the several millenia surely count in her favor, if not for experience. Summed up, yes Jaina wouldn't be more powerful right now compared to Azshara but who knows, maybe she'll get some cool ass thing like Khadgar did, if nothing else she has some of Magna Aegwynn's knowledge to fall back on, and with her current frame of mind she's sure to become a potential Army Killer all by herself. i mean....that ship weighed a FUCKTON to get out of the sea, and to keep it in the air for that Magical Volley right of Undercities ass :D7

She is. It was confirmed by Blizzard, then it was confirmed by Rhonin himself in Tides of War. He said that she was the finest mage in all Azeroth. (He didn't know that Azshara was still alive tho', so she probably is the strongest mage after Azshara.)
