They're even more disgustingly powerful in The Snyder Cut of Justice League
The Olympians, also known as the Old Gods, were an extra-dimensional race of beings who were worshiped as gods by the Ancient Greek and Amazonian civilizations. The Olympians were slain during the War of the Gods by Ares, who was later killed during the last days of World War I by Wonder Woman, Zeus' daughter with Hippolyta.
Humans no longer worship them due to their death thousands of years ago, and the majority of humanity incorrectly considers the Olympians to be nothing more than a myth.
Millennia ago, Zeus created humans in his image, beings Hippolyta described as peaceful, passionate, and inherently good until Ares, son of Zeus, grew to envy his father's creations and poisoned their hearts with jealousy and suspicion. Soon after Ares's manipulations, humanity began to war with one another across the Earth until the gods created the Amazons to spread love and compassion among humanity, restoring peace to the Earth yet again.
Invasion of Earth
Centuries later, General Steppenwolf of Apokolips invaded Earth. Steppenwolf's arrival incited an alliance of Earth's forces. From Mount Olympus descended Zeus, Ares, and Artemis to aid in the battle that ensued, followed by the arrival of Earth's Green Lantern, Yalan Gur. Together with his children, Zeus helped to defeat a number of Steppenwolf's forces, fighting alongside Ares while Artemis destroyed their starships.
As the battle neared its end, Zeus smote Steppenwolf with a powerful blast of lightning, inciting the invaders to retrieve their commander, much to his chagrin, while Zeus interrupted the Apokoliptian Priests' ritual of combining the three Mother Boxes to form the Unity and terraforming the planet.
In the aftermath of the battle, Zeus entrusted the Mother Boxes to the Amazons, Atlanteans, and humans for safekeeping before he and his children ascended to Mount Olympus once again.
Ultimately, the peace brought upon by the Amazons did not last forever, and the Amazons became enslaved by humanity, until Hippolyta led the Amazons in a revolt against their captors. When Zeus led the gods in the Amazons' defense, Ares killed them one after another until only Zeus remained. With the last of his power, Zeus smote Ares with such power that the god of war had no choice but to flee to Earth in a weakened state.
Anticipating his son would eventually return to complete his mission, Zeus bestowed upon the Amazons a weapon powerful enough to kill a god. With the last of his power, Zeus created the island of Themyscira for the Amazons, protected from Ares and the outside world

I wouldn’t agree with a caveat. Aeries feeds off of war and being in the ultimate war that was going down id bet his powers were off the scale making him on par if not in excess than Zues during that battle. Wasn’t that how it was explained in WW? I’m not sure but Zues should be the most powerful of the old gods no matter what. And in the battle they seemed to do the most damage hands down. But seeing Darkseid kill a lantern without effort and taking on the armies of humans, Atlantans, the Amazonian, along with those 3 gods, he took on a lot of damage while dishing it out. If it were 2 on one he wouldn’t be distracted or caught off guard like he was. What bothers me is that SHAZAM supposedly has the powers/strength/speed of several Gods and knowledge etc...which kinda undercuts the gods themselves. It was a badass scene regardless!! Aeries: “hold my axe while I put my helmet on.”

UPDATE: What Ares and Zeus did to Steppenwolf, they did to Darkseid in the znyder cut. Darkseid is way more powerful than Steppenwolf. He had no armor but Ares' axe cut Darkseid so blood poured out. i see many argue how ares managed to kill the other gods. One explanation is very simple and explained in the movies. The war between darkseid and gods + heroes probably made ares very strong, while other gods have been killed or exhausted in the battles. Then ares killed the rest

Zeus even outclassed a Revived Superman. During the climax of Snyder cut Superman and cyborg shorty strained themselves in order to separate the unity of the three mother box’s. Zeus accomplished this with one mighty thunderbolt during the old war.

When you were talking about not being sure about the gods regeneration. Through mythology it seems that the gods gain a much higher bit of power when they are in their element so Poseidon is stronger in the sea, Zeus is stronger in the sky, and ares would be stronger with war raging on earth and I think that that’s how he was able to regenerate as much as he did

True!! However, Superman, in the black suit was still recuperating from being resurrected! He was not at his peak ability. He only wears the black suit to help him with further recovery! Cyborg was also most likely not at peak ability. He was still working out his abilities! In both cuts you see him learning things bit by bit. A more accomplished Cyborg wouldn’t have had trouble with the suit attacking Superman at his resurrection! So he was still working things out! He didn’t have time to learn more by the time he decided to go after the Motherboxes. If we ever get to see another film with Cyborg in it, we’ll most likely see him more accomplished and with even more abilities!

Also, at the first battle with Darkside, Zeus wasn’t brand new to using his powers. He had millennia to perfect them! He was at his peak ability ( which, I have to agree that he was insanely powerful). He wasn’t weak or near death either!

Well, also consider that Superman was probably not at his peak. In the Snyder cut he wore the black suit. The suit allowed him to continue to use his abilities while he continued to recuperate and regenerate post reanimation. Cyborg, while being super humanly strong, may have still been trying to get a better grasp of his abilities. A bit earlier in the film after listening to the recording of his father, he goes outside to work out the ability to fly. He learns to successfully do it. Not too long after that his father sacrificed himself marking the Motherbox with a heat signature. Cyborg is angry and decides to go after the Motherboxes with the intention of taking the Unity apart by going inside the Motherboxes themselves. He most likely went on ahead and put a hold on building his abilities further at that time.( speculation) In the Wheadon cut, Silas Stone lived. At the end of the film you see him working with Cyborg, helping him discover and further his abilities. So when he and Superman separated the Motherboxes, you had 2 beings who for various reasons, were not at their peak ability!

Okay, so correct me if I am wrong, but when Superman and Cyborg we separating the boxes, they had already combined into a single entity. While when Zeus zapped them, they seemed much less conjoined. If we assume, which is what is done most of this video, that the boxes become more inseparable as they come to complete convergence, think of it like magnets, they are much harder to separate the closer they get to each other. We can derive that the amount of power needed to separate the boxes in Superman and Cyborgs case was higher than when Zeus did. Also, I would like to add the the boxes have been effected by electricity multiple times during the JL movies. This has shown as a catalyst for the boxes, which may also mean that Zeus, aka the god of lighting, may not have needed as much power vs Superman and cyborg raw strength separation.

About the blackhole supe's speed estimation: you only need to travel faster than light IF you are beyond the point if no return in the event horizon, so if supes is further than that, he only needs to resist a gravitational pull proportional to his mass × the singluarity's and inverse to de distance between both squared. So, technically, he doesn't really need to be faster than light if he was far enough at the start.
