@@user-vr5zk9ox8d yeah you are right, in fact this game may seem silly for kratos be a father, but the dinamism between the old kratos and new one in order to father Atreus correctly is fascinating. Although they keep saying he is Lokir, i believe there is a difference in how the story tells everything. Its a timeline altered by kratos himself. Meaninh that how did things will played out may depen on the altered everything. After all Atreus is being fathered by Kratos not Odin, taught not to kill if unnecesary by a godslayer. Zeus story is what happens when a cycle is created. Cronos chop his father balls off, Zeus got powerful imprison thr other titans Gaea included, and open cronos belly to get his siblings back. And kratos well beat the crap out of Zeus siblings, caused an apocalypse and destroyed Zeus on all possible dimensilns and planes. Yeah you reap what you sow i would say, also should i say because everything that happened to kratos he ended up with no family, meaning that by going away from Greece he created a new life. I hope the next GOW is not a prequel where Krstos falls in love, cuz thats gonna break my heart.

That’s why it’s kind of unfortunate how he is handled in Ragnarok, in 2018 they really make it seem like Odin is more obsessed with figuring out how to expand his reach to all the pantheon worlds, and like his main goal isn’t just to avert Ragnarok but manipulate it into his favor, in Ragnarok they just made him want to know where he goes after he dies

@@RojoTrueShinobi I say there’s nothing really wrong with him in Ragnarok. Considering that these stories Mimir tells took place centuries ago and Mimir was trapped in that tree for 100+ winters. So it’s fair to say that Odin grew as time went on. Not to mention Odin’s character in Ragnarok is more close to mythology with his cunning and disguises to walk amongst men. So fun fact for anyone who missed it: Mimir is actually a celtic faerie named Puck. A mischievous but helpful forest spirit whom is sometimes interpreted as a Satyr/Faun which could explain the horns that he bears. Its said that Puck aka "Robin Goodfellow" helps those in return for good deeds or favors such as Kratos severing his head and freeing him from Odin.

The most interesting thing about hearing about all these mythological stories is not just that they are all fascinating but most of the time they come from people who were actually there and lived the legends. In a way I kind of wish we could hear these stories from the perspective of Thor and Odin themselves. How would Odin justify, say the tale of Ymir? How would Thor talk about the story of Hrungnir? Would he lie and say it was a fierce battle or would he own up to the truth and say something like "yeah, don't punch a guy made of stone I still have chunk's or rock in my head"

Mimir was a fantastic idea for God of War. Traveling in something as slow as a boat can feel slow and tedious. I can't remember how many times I got to where I was going and just sat near the shore to finish hearing the stories.

15:02 Hróðvitnir, also known as Fenrir, the arch-nemesis of Odin. Brother to World Serpent and Hel. Son of Loki. EDIT: Yes, Loki is presumably the mother of Sleipnir (Loki denies it and curses anyone who mentions it). Yes, Loki had two sons; Vali and Narfi, but they are essentially Fenrir and Jörmungandr. Odin cursed Vali by turning him into a wolf and made Vali (as a wolf) eat open Narfi’s stomach. Thor then ripped out the guts of Narfi and used them to bind Loki to a rock. The guts of Narfi was turned into a serpent and dripped venom into Loki’s eyes. That is why Fenrir is Odin’s arch-enemy, and why Jörmungandr is Thor’s arch-enemy. Quite ironic to create the monsters of your own doom.

They fuck around with the myths JUUUUUUUST enough to take Loku out of the picture. Notice that no one says why SPECIFICALLY Brok and Sindri made Mjolnir, because the original story involved Loki shaving Sif's hair off.

The best thing to do on a 2nd playthrough is to never open any of the shrines until you have Mimir. That's because every time Atreus pauses while talking about the shrine, Mimir actually has something to say if he was there. I missed Hrungir's shrine the first time I was in the area and went back after I got Mimir. The story of the shrine played out differently for me from what I saw here.

I think mimir is saddened by Starkaor’s fate mainly because he was branded a monster and a villain before his death. When in reality it was the man setting the slanders upon his name who was the monster. Even the best giants don’t usually get happy endings, a common theme I’ve found in Norse mythology.

I love how Mimir made Odin trip balls and tried to convince Odin that he gave his eye as a sacrifice for knowledge, knowing Mimir he gave a perfectly persuasive sentence with one tiny little detail that Odin caught and used to realize that the "sacrifice of his eye gor knowledge" was a lie, or if he did see into that green crack of knowledge and what not and thats what led him to start gouging his eyes out, it makes sense.

Can we get a Lord of the Rings game like this? Someone like Gandalf or whoever telling stories about the lore Tolkien created as they travel around? Because this part of the game was pretty awesome, I thought. Being able to learn (even if some was a bit changed) the lore behind Norse mythology through stories to pass the time was great. And Tolkien's own stories have plenty of lore behind them to tell.
