Thank you for the interesting material and your PROs opinion! In the scene where Matthew speaks before entering the school, a guy crossing the line between the camera and Matthew causes tension. And the fact that Matthew is walking backwards adds to that feeling.

Thanks for the tips. I wouldnt have done a cut like this with his voice playing while you can still see his face, I feel it takes away from the realism. Better to bring in the inside noise of the school first then had him talking again when you see him next

Good content man, but what's with the wideangle distortion (of your face shots)! It's distracting, or could just be my OCD :) Speaking of OCD, I find the first edit better - cuts the fluff faster. In the second he talks, then turns around, and starts talking again (from the J cut sound coming early) while his clearly visible mouth is not moving. That kills the idea that what we hear is him talking, which is retained better in the first edit (even if we jump from outside to the ladder between two consequtive sentences, it still has better flow).
