That's what it is. This guy ate a bunch of fat and blamed the protein. What a moron.

Hey bro! If im pre diabetic and want to build more muscle, what is the solution then in terms of diet? Carbs are low 50 to 75g a day atm And i try to have a high protein, high fat diet but blood suger rises each time i finish a meal as im shooting for about 60g of protein per meal. My average protein goal per day is 175g, as i weigh the same. Im trying to be on a calorie surplus, mostly with fats and protein. Thanks kindly

U don’t need anymore the 100grm of protein even if ur building muscle 175grms of protein will put ur kidneys under a lot of pressure even if there telling u go high protein there’s still a limit of how much u should be having ask any doctor they will advise 175 grms of protein is absolutely no good for kidneys

I find your presentation lacking. I think you need to stress and differentiate how protein effects type 1 and 2 diabetics. I am Type 2. Off medication. I control my glucose with diet and exercise. I treat myself to Korean BBq once a week. Protein galore. My glucose usually rises about 40 pts. If I get a little crazy, I would have the sushi or some noodles. My glucose goes to 180 to 210. So I avoid the sushi and noodles. My levels are back to normal two hours or so later. The same happens when I do Brazilian BBQ. Excess protein may affect Type 1s like you the way you describe because you cannot produce insulin anymore. For us type 2s who still do produce insulin or decreased our insulin resistance, we most likely aren't going to have the response you did. Our glucose may rise from consuming protein, but not as high as yours. This is true especially for people using non-insulin medications. So watching your video was a bit disturbing because I love beef, chicken, fish, lamb and I do check my glucose often (thank you, Freestyle Libre). Can't live without my meat. But ultimately based on my experience, this does not apply to me. The video offers a vital warning, but just stress who maybe radically affected.

im glad to hear youre doing well! maybe next time, when giving criticism, do so in a way that is more constructive and actually helpful and understand this video wasn't made specifically for you, but for a larger population of people, who may be impacted by what I discuss if you dont like what you see, keep scrolling

Forty seconds into the video, he explains he has lived with type 1 diabetes for over twenty years. I’m T2 and my sister is LADA. Ben, I find this information valuable despite us having different yet, somewhat overlapping diseases. Thank you for sharing your experiences.

So much contradiction out there when it comes to nutrition. Elsewhere I hear gluconeogenesis is DEMAND based not supply based. Meaning your body will take what it needs and consuming excess protein will NOT necessarily mean it will turn into carbs.

ask any T1D who eats a massive quantity of protein with minimal carbs what happens to their blood sugars and youll see its very much supply based

@@yourdiabetesinsider This was amazing. Am type 2 for about 4 years now and have cut down carbs as well as eating more protein. Now I realize that this could my issue. Just got bumped up to 1K Met a day. Thinking to get a CGM to track rather than poing 5 times a day. TY

What was the meat cooked in is a big deal. Ppl in the carnivore diet have cured their diabetes. I ate meat today, broiled turkey n chicken with pickles n my blood sugar went normal no pills today. Also salad dressing can spike.

I would say all the fat you ate is what actually raised your blood sugars. Eating fat raises blood sugars more than carbs.

Maybe a person should not eat so damn much at one time if they are watching their blood sugar.
