Being a punjabi I totally agree Hardly you will find a student in 12th,talk about graduation or prepare for any competitive exam. As soon as 12th results are out, students start applying for IELTS,parents start arranging money. Infact the ground reality of today is many Parents across punjab suffer from depression because the homes are empty, they are alone, there are no timely calls, kids visit them after 3-4years.

Not a Punjabi. But I went to Canada for my Masters. Stayed there and worked for 4 years and got my PR. So here is my honest opinion, I know no one asked for it but it can be helpful to someone. The picture of Canada that the agents portray is very different then reality. The local Canadian population is very unaccepting to immigrants. Cost of living is extremely high, so high that it has become next to impossible to live in a major city on an avg income. It takes a heavy toll on mental health and there is always a feeling of loneliness lingering around. There are many other reasons but these are main ones which made me leave Canada and come back home. Now after a year and a half in India my mental health is on track and I have created a business here.

if thats the reason why the heck dont panjabis stay in panjab only they can develop panjab why do they have this dirty mindset ??
@chiranjeevmehra98602 жыл бұрын
@@punitdas5207 According to my observation, most of the punjabis who come to Canada are not well exposed and are lack adequate educational qualifications, thus when they get their first taste of money and world outside their village and state, they think that is the best they can get out their as they don’t have anything to compare it with. Plus most of these people come with heavy family responsibility back home, so looking after their own mental health is least of their priorities. I have had acquaintances who used to work non stop for 18-20 hrs a day with just a couple hours of sleep just to make that extra buck to send back home.

There is a huge craze for going to foreign in punjab and somewhat many are just following a "Bhedchaal" and leaving punjab in search of luxury and dreams. But i feel that punjab needs its youth back. Being a punjabi, I have seen and noticed this very well that Punjabis are just creating excuses to leave India for chasing “luxury” and “quick success” in foreign countries. This wave is mostly fuelled by peer pressure, comparison with cousins/friends, lack of skills, awareness and confidence. There are a lot of young punjabis (including myself and my friends) who have settled by establishing a career in India because of determination and awareness about their goals, not because they had silver spoon from parents, but because they had love for the motherland. Now some agitated young fellow Punjabis might say that I must have got family business in inheritance being a brahmin or baniya etc. But my friend, I too belong to a middle class Sikh family like most of you. Take this as a witness’s testimony. Punjabi youth is not as courageous as the famous figures in Punjabi history used to be. They have become crybabies, always criticizing the government for their own lack of skills and clarity about their future. Every nation has faced employment crises, recessions and wars, but their people established their glory again. Germany has had holocaust, US faced the great recession of 1929, France had war. There are many more examples, they have built their fortune again. That is courage. That is the love for motherland. Come back home. Punjab needs you. Don’t run away. This is your responsibility. This is your motherland. Jai Hind 🇮🇳

Let me be clear I have no problem with them coming here for studies, but majority of students just come here to take PR and stay forever, even this is not bad it's good for the Canadian Economy. The problem is majority of the students who come here by passing IELTS test can't speak or write English Language when I asked many of the students how much they scored in IELTS majority said they got 7 bands so which are very good bands, so I always wondered how come these students passed the IELTS test and can't speak properly???? Looks like there is a huge scam going on in Punjab for IELTS test and the agents are charging 1 lakh for each band. Yes you read it correctly 1 lakh for each band let's say if you want 7 bands you need to pay 7 lakhs. There is a city in Ontario Brampton where majority of the Punjabi people are living and they openly say that if you want to live in Canada you don't need to know English language just come to Brampton you feel like you are in Punjab. The city of Brampton has seen rapidly increase in crime rate, many students makes gangs and they fight. All these students don't want to go out of Brampton just from the fear that if they go out of Brampton they need to speak English. I am not saying all 100% Of Students are same but I have seen few good students with good English language skills. Please read my comment and expose these agencies in Punjab who are making fake IELTS Scam.

So moving out from punjab makes more sense now. We are spending 15-20 lacks to get student visa, then in canada work hard jobs to survive while studying. There is alot of mental pressure on an international student who is trying to settle there. It's hard and cost alot of money, tons of efforts and time too. Mostly at the end when a punjabi becomes a canadian they still don't have good job now they start struggling for good job and then something else it's always continues.

Punjab is under a very wise and intelligent CM who is a known habitual drinker! He is very devout Bhakt, so much that he goes to Gurudwara and Parliament being drunk. Since he has come in Punjab there are 350 recorded killings, terrorist attacks and not to mention massive drugs and missionary issues. Oh another interesting fact, in Kanneda there are 8 Punjabis out of top 10 wanted criminals. Now that's an achievement! So Punjab is in safe hands really! Thanks to it's wise people. 🙂😇

We are really fortunate that we are born and brought up in Maharashtra. Be it any government or political party in maharashtra, everyone emphasised on jobs generation. That is the main reason there is such a less migration from Maharashtra within or outside in India. I myself working in IT and got many opportunities to go abroad. But, I always thought of my parents and remained here. Now salaries in IT are reasonably good and I don’t think it make sense to move aboard leaving parents, friends and relatives behind.

If Universities in Canada and the US couldn't charge more for international students, they wouldn't give as many opportunities to international students. The whole political justification that these universities give to the local population is that international students pay a lot of money. Something similar is true with labor. Businesses want foreign workers to work them extra and pay them less, otherwise they would just hire locals.

They charge hire tuition for students out of the state in the US. For example, a Texas University will charge a higher out of state tuition for a California resident than for a Texas student. An charging international student is a premium in the west. That is how they make their money.

As someone who lives in Punjab I can say that the majority of students or workers who actually want to go foreign, they don't know anything about different legal factors and other stuff that someone needs to consider going to any foreign country. Their desperation to go foreign and lack of knowledge leads them to get tangled up in the scams run by these so called "agents".

I just talked about this with my family today. I am a punjabi who was born and raised in germany and currently in punjab for holidays. Its crazy to see when i go outside there are not a lot of punjabis here anymore we got replaced by other people in our own state due to migration. But on the other hand i can kinda understand it because life here is very hard everything is going wrong from a-z there is no good jobs here either and salary is very low mostly. So the temptation to go abroad make more money and live a comftortable life is very big. I know so many punjabi guys in germany who came over there with portugese passports and they dont even speak a bit of portuguese, its basically a passport factory. One cousin of mine got also scammed, being send to belarus with no option to go further. I would wish that all abroad punjabis (also abroad born and raised ones) would come back bring there skills together and work on a better punjab so the desire to go abroad decrease and the desrie to stay or to come back increases. We really need to better ourselves and grow as a state. Its hard to see my homeland falling apart like this. 😓🙏🏽

Why can't the government create a very simple solution like creating a govt website that lists down all the legally registered agents. I also did the same thing in 2015 - got a job offer in Europe, but rejected it for the same reasons as above. But when I became a parent, and suddenly my perspective changed. Things that you considered “chalta hai” or “we are like this only” didn’t sell anymore to a parent who wants only the best for his child. So I finally moved out at the relatively older age of 35. Yea of course, all the above things do matter and I miss them like crazy. But when you look at the larger picture of my son’s future, career, education opportunities, pension - basically living a stress free life, the choice was a no brainer. No they need to cut welfare and promote industries. Punjab destroyed its industrial revolution by prioritising farmers and welfarism.

It's no easy bro, the farmers of Punjab and Haryana were the main force behind the anti farmbills protests.

Bringing change isn’t possible as long as socialist propaganda is propagating across the state. Industrialization is required. Even Communist Party of Kerela defended an Adani port from local rioters. Punjab govts need to do the same i.e. promise socialism but increase capitalism.

Its been a trend in punjab to go abroad ... Even my relatives want me to go abroad but being only son of my mother (single parent) , i denied. But this isn't the thing .... Thing is that nearly all of my friends are going abroad , they aren't too financially weak ... I don't know why they are going and the worst thing is that i can't even request them to stay here ...... I commit that going abroad is good for needy ones and it should be the choice of the person himself/herself ... But i wanna say one thing to all .. if you're planning to go abroad then please atleast think about your parents whether they'll live happily after seeing you at a long distance or not ... After that choice is urs ...

I can explain it very well because I'm from Punjab remote area/ border area. Main problem is education/awareness about carrier option. Punjab's education system totally fucked up. Student dont have plan about their carrier option. Let's talk about my own experience, When I completed my 12th , our teacher and elder didn't guide us about entrence exams even our level of education and knowledge can't be competed with other states. I don't have any idea about UPSC exam SSC exam and other. My physics teacher don't know basic knowledge about his subject. Most of the school, college and university don't have appropriate teaching staff. Most of the student even teacher promote cheating to clear exam or pass a class. Due to scarcity of good infrastructure of education system and jobs, a punjabi boy/girl think about abroad study or work. Nowadays most of punjabi migrating through illegal way. They just want to leave punjab and india. Because other nation provide good salary to basic workers. Which is easy as compare to choosing carrier option in Punjab. They have to compromise but it's sad reality. When I got mobile phone, thanks to the jio who introduced internet on cheap prices, due to cheap prices of internet everyone can afford it and get knowledge which thought worldwide through the Study apps and YT.

Punjabis spend 15-20 lakh for going abroad and sometimes even more. Punjabi farmers are rich that's why they go to abroad . Normal middle class people can't afford it. so it is luxury for them .
