A very wise UPSC teacher once told me, it's not like S. Jaishankar gets a smart way of handling crisis once it hits the country, people like him replay all these scenarios in their heads way before even they occur. But many of his claims are wrong especially the claim of 45 trillion dollar looted by Britishers. In fact these figure is made by a Marxist economists UTSA patnaik who used 5% compound interest to calculate the loot taken. Even the inflation rate at 1947 was 3.68%. Also the inflation before 1860s were almost close to zero. Then how could one compound the whole loot taken during 200 years of British rule with 5% interest rate. Also she again multiplied with 4.68 to convert pound to dollars. How inaccurate is her calculation. How can jayashankar come up with such baseless figures without valid proof. Even if you calculate the entire GDP during British raj , it wont make even 30 trillion dollars.

A very well researched video. Just wanted to point out that @11:26, the opinion piece written by the PM for NYT dates back to Oct 2nd 2019, and the other article that was mentioned in the video @11:16 titled "Modi's India is where global democracy dies" was published on Aug 24th 2022, and I'm pretty sure that the PM did not write any opinion piece for NYT after the newspaper published the controversial article, so in my opinion, the FM criticising the newspaper is justified.

New york times and other global news channels have criticized Modi and India (both are different) a lot from 2019 to now, and even before that. They have praised them as well, but not in the same quantity of their criticisms. At the end, they don't really have strong/biased opinions of India. We need to keep in mind that that their opinions holds value when it makes sense and have strong logical views. And for that we need to understand what they are saying and why, ignoring third party opinions and labelling them anti-india is coping, and not knowing how to judge a topic without extreme bias. Take an example of press freedom, you can see that 90% news channels don't speak on what is happening in India, don't question the governemt, and act like clows to gain views. Big corporations are buying up news channel essentially making them work in a limited framework.
