Fiona Hill is one of the most powerful British people of the 21st century but the chances are you haven’t even heard of her.
She’s advised three presidents of the United States on foreign policy, especially on Putin’s Russia.
She gave evidence at Trump’s first impeachment. at this time of international chaos, of an America which feels inside and out, on the edge, there could be no better time to talk to this woman with a unique perch on American power, British decline, and how in the end, all roads lead back to the Kremlin.

The more people sit up and listen to Fiona Hill, the better the world will be, she has such clarity when deconstructing how we got to where we are politically and historically and communicates it so effectively. There’s nothing for you here is an outstanding book. I wish she’d run for Prime minister!

Interesting video. Merely one problem: Putin isn't betting on Trump.; he's merely commenting on Trump and on Biden, and what it would mean for Russia. Trumpists in USA are now betting that Biden will be condemned, and Bidenists are betting that Trump will be condemned.

The main problem currently, as FH emphasised, is that trumpism has deflected attention and intelligence away from the very real world threats we are now facing. the threat from Putin is only one of those currently looming. US Government needs more people like her doing more analysis, and less grubby short-term politicking. Sadly that's where the money is. My accent was working class London - equivalent in status, but not the same as Fiona's, but my school experience - 14 years earlier - was similar. (Perhaps I was more audacious though less gifted}, - A bit of a 'chancer.'.who took every chance that appeared on notice- boards, even if I didn't fit the criteria..and a surprising number paid off. Fiona Hill is a wonderful role model, but you don't have to be as talented as her to take your own chances, and not be discouraged if they don't all pay off.

U.K. must go right or left, it must attach to Europe or the U.S. Look at U.K. history as a navel power on a small island that drew it power from many colonial holdings by way of a navy. U.S. is much like U.K. as a very big island surrounded by water with need for a navy and a commercial water fleet for internal noncolonial power movement. America is Europe with no boarders and unlimited ocean. U.K. is either part of Europe or part of America to balance it's position in the world.. The strongest concentrating of potential empire power is now found in the Americas. The next 100 years will see a consolidation of unity in this block with a tilt toward the North. Europe will need to find a consolidation that encompass Russia because of energy needs. Science may modify this need, but that is a long shot. America is 75% populated by European peoples with most knowing where the grandparent came from. I do not know when are where my ancestry came from, but my family has always been proud of it's Scotts Irish blood. The names gives it away. I am married to a lady who is from Spanish Italian ancestry and very proud of it. We have been American since the Battle of the Alamo and the War of 1812. We are American. Think about it.
