It's that time again folks, a ROM hack Professor Oak's Challenge! It's been highly requested that I finish the other two Kaizo games, so I figured I'd go back to Blue Kaizo, the only other one I have very much experience in, and I hope you enjoy. It's definitely an easier POC I've done, but that doesn't mean that it's not hard, it is. About the Pidgeotto evolving at level 9, it's not just Faulkner's Pidgeotto that was that level. In Yellow version, there was a 1% chance for a level 9 Pidgeotto to appear in Viridian Forest as well. It was probably meant to further emulate the anime seeing as Ash was able to get a Pidgeotto there.

There was one patch of grass where you were guaranteed a level 9 pidgeotto in yellow. right before the trainer used to do the level 100 glitch

Still think they could’ve swapped out that Pidgeotto for a Hoothoot or some other Flying-type. My big issue with how the Gold & Silver gyms are laid out are that they don’t feel like they use enough of the new stuff.

I have to say, since Kaizo's doesn't allow you EV's, you can concentrate on other things involving. Now I know that if you have the congronize ability you can easily pass natures to wild pokemon. So I started collecting natures. Also, idea for the next one, collecting all medals in Black2 and White2

Just to let you know, sleep in gen 1 is a flat increase to catch rate based on your ball (assuming it's unchanged in kaizo) I believe it adds 14 percent for great balls and 21 percent for ultra balls

Have you tried Theta Emerald Renev? It has a higher difficulty curve but not as high as Emerald Kaizo, all pokemon up to gen 6 + alolan forms and mega evolutions and special areas for some legendary pokemon.

The catch rate of one isn't too bad due to the fact that puting a pokemon to sleep gives them a set 1 in 6 chance to be caught on in an ultra ball
