I actually did this challenge a few months ago, and I had a time of 118:45. That included ALL the Pokemon between Ruby and Sapphire though, as well as a complete Living Dex. Still, 45:50 is a really good time, well done!

An unbelievable time - I managed my Sapphire run in just over 69 hours - although I ruled out the day care and just grinded and used rare candies. Had a massive issue with taking Moon Stones off Lunatone, though, costing me about 6 hours of in-game play time - so you had great luck with your Solrock! That's how I felt in my SoulSilver run where my first post-elite four capture was a Chansey holding the Lucky Egg :)

Question: You mentioned that Slakoth is easier to train than the disobedient Makuhita, so wouldn't it make more sense to train the second Slakoth to level 23 and then trade it?

@@jaysfr3850 Obviously he meant no trading with other games. That Makuhita trade is necessary for this challenge since it's the only way to get Makuhita before the first gym, and if you watched the video, you would know that he did go for that trade.

Hey there, Fire1520 here. The reason why we don't is because it requires a lot more XP. Makuhita is in the Fluctuating group, whereas Slakoth is in Slow, meaning you'd need to grind an aditional ~6000XP to get to the same lvl. In addition, Makit is a trade, which is to say it gets a 50% XP boost, meaning the gaps is even wider. And while disobedience is annoying, it's not the end of the world: sometimes you just select a different move that will 1HKO anyway, or it just decides to obey in the first place. Last, if you're on a rigged run like my current attempt, you might be starved for resources early on and Makit will allow you to get your items going.

Ive done the same with the cocoons but i made them struggle the crap out of the Pokémon in route 105 and the cave ( i must say on the first pick ups i managed to get rare candy and a 2 years stock of full restores and super potion)

Recently picked my old sapphire POC up after a year and, either Chaotic got really lucky with 70+ rare candies at pre badge one, or I got really unlucky with just under 40 (on top of that I'm almost at double the time too)

I did a Ruby+Sapphire Co-op POC and Pokemon not listening to me was an even bigger problem because Grovyle would also not listen to either trainer, since I used a third file just to get the final starter. Ended up using like 16 Rare Candies on it just because battling with it was so annoying.

I'm nearly on 300 hours with it... Just in the post game safari now where you have to wait 100 days for sections to mature (just got to day 20!) for specific pokemon become available. Most excrutiating section tho is pre-Whitney where you have to wait for 4 randomised NPC Pokenav calls from Picknicker Gina (x3) and Schoolboy Alan (x1) to get leaf and fire stones respectively. This can easily take months of waiting.
