After seeing Johnstone torture himself in this challenge in the original Red and Blue and Gold and Silver, I decide to torture myself even more by going through the remakes! Today we're going to see how easily you can complete Professor Oak's Challenge in Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen! This video took quite a lot of time and effort to put together while still keeping up with Mega Man videos, so I'd really appreciate it if you shared this with a friend. here's a funny detail you didnt mention: it is almost necessary to use your master ball on entei (or raikou, if you picked squirtle) since both know roar, and if they use roar during the battle, not only does the battle end, but the game thinks you defeated it, and it will stop roaming the map. the only way to get it back at that point is to reset to an earlier save.

Amazing video, however I did notice a few mistakes you made in the challenge itself. 1.) You didn't get Grimer until after you defeated Koga and gaining access to Surf outside of battle, but it's actually possible to get Grimer before defeating Koga. It has a 1% encounter rate by fishing with the Super Rod in small pond of water in Celadon City. This allows you to get 2 more pokemon added to the dex total in that section. 2.) You should defeat Blaine before Erika. Doing so gives you access to Kindle Road where you can catch Ponyta and Rapidash, whereas defeating Erika first will only give you access to Articuno. Since you want as many pokemon as possible with the fewest gym badges, Blaine should be done before Erika, technically. Still though, amazing video and can't wait for the HG/SS one.

In FireRed you can only obtain 170 Pokemon. LeafGreen has one extra Pokemon, Azurill, which you get from breeding an Azumarill holding a Sea Incense. Maybe that's where you're getting the total of 171.

you probably should have caught several meowth and used pickup while farming for xp to level up. meowth has 5% chance of getting PPup, tm10, or rare candy after each battle in FR/LG. it isnt based off level so you get a 5% chance each pokemon you battle. keep the candy and sell everything else and you can get the game corner coins really REALLY fast.

simão mateus I know, but I’m saying if they would streamline it, make it more accessible, and make it easier to use, then I would pay for it. The emulators I’ve used in the past have had glitches and issues with saves and eventually I have to delete and reinstall the app because it won’t work. If Nintendo just put out an official gba emulator for phones and put a bunch of gba games on it (much like a nes mini), I would definitely pay for it.
