3:30 This makes me remember the story of a certain singer in the 70s, in Italy. His name was Adriano Celentano. He said that people over there would love anything that was in english, even if they didnt understand a single word, and that as long as it was english lyrics, it didnt even have to be that good of a song. He made a song called "Prisencolinensinainciusol", with gibberish english lyrics, and it became a hit, reaching number 1 in charts.
@laurajanco2i Жыл бұрын
looool as an Italian it's spot on. We obviously speak Italian since we are born and English is just a second language, that someone only masters when they are in highschool, if they study it, they're good at it or they like it. I can tell you that children and teens most times don't know a word of English, so they would just listen to songs from any other country (since in Europe it's normal to listen to any music, of any language) and only pay attention to the instrumental, like me before I started to pick up English and to speak it. I used to mimic the words I used to hear, because I wanted to sing the song, but it was just gibberish most of the time.
@Chu_Nyanning Жыл бұрын
I remember that song. When I gave it a listen I had a hard time believing it was gibberish until I paid close attention to the lyrics.

What everyone is saying is their point. It was never meant to make fun of rap at all. That's why they made it to sound good. They're trying to give perspective of them hearing rap and only being able to pick up a word here and there but totally vibing the track, performance, beat, etc. But realizing they have no idea what it's even about. This parody is genius.

The game NeiR: Automata does somethings similar with its soundtrack but played entirely straight. I would be playing the game, and then something in the music would catch my ear and make me think, "Wait, was that German? Was that a snippet of Spanish I heard? I swear that bit there was English." It turns out all the lyrics are nonsense, but nonsense that borrows sounds from various languages. So it constantly sounds familiar, without ever being able to grasp what's being said. So yeah, totally possible to write a complete banger out of gibberish.
