The Great CooLite He's usually about average or above average size in the comics and is super defined. Right now (ASM Vol 5), he's drawn as being pretty buff, visibly bigger than most grown men but not necessarily huge. Sometimes (mostly in the 80s) he's depicted as genuinely ripped with a similar build to Captain America at Cap's beefiest Just look up McFarlane Spider-Man, he's jacked af. Him being scrawny is mostly just the VERY early comics and more recent interpretations. Ultimate Spider-Man popularized the idea of him being a skinny, awkward teenager, which is why you see him as really small in more recent versions (especially if he's a teen). I personally prefer him to look bulkier and taller than average but nothing like a body builder. That's why I'm kinda disappointed that they have Tom Holland look so short; it's impossible to take him seriously when even MJ is visibly taller than him. I can't see Tom Holland believable playing an adult Spider-Man unless they spend a lot of time making him actually look like an adult.
@djrocksgaming62554 жыл бұрын
Falcon Windblade No way. He looks more built than than Red-Black suit Ditko Spider-Man from the first comics and maybe a little more built than Ultimate Spider-Man, but he's WAYYY skinnier than most artistic interpretations of Spider-Man in the comics. Spider-Man in the main comics is usually depicted as not much smaller than Captain America or even the same size a decent amount of the time.

0:19 spider silk is actual several times stronger than steel when scaled to human size, it's also extremely elastic, durable, and can have compression properties depending on how its stored. It can also stick to almost any surface allowing for web slinging. He didn't use fishing hooks or steel wire because it can't stick to surfaces and unlike spider webs its difficult to store in compact spaces and Its not that elastic. If there is any substitute to spider webbing is a mixture of carbon nanofiber and reinforced rubber. Common sense and research would tell you that...

@Money4Nuthing4 жыл бұрын
I think the unrealistic part is not how strong the webbing is, but how consistently it sticks to whatever he's shooting at. Just because the silk itself is very sturdy doesn't mean it will always have strong adhesion to Spider-Man's surroundings.
@Cri_Jackal Жыл бұрын
There must be some added component that acts as a glue, dispensed briefly at the moment of firing so that it coats the tip of the strand. Spiders actually produce a secondary "spider glue" that they attach to specific parts of their web, which they continuously upkeep, those being the points of connection to the structure they've attach their web to, and the areas meant to catch prey. The dry parts of their web is the path they traverse around, as they are not immune to their glue. In an experiment where scientists were able to artificially produce a supply of spider glue, they found it could resist 910 pounds per square inch of force.
@arknado86043 жыл бұрын

this is a little late but Peter has an IQ of around 160+, making him practically a genius. So being able to make what he does in the movies is simply easy to him.

The unrealistic bit isn’t the fact that his technology mimics the physics of real webs. It’s the storage and propulsion of the substance that doesn’t make sense.

Just because Peter Parker figured out how to make synthetic webbing in his high school chemistry class doesn't mean it's unrealistic. If the class had the materials to make it, of course he's going to make it. Because it's free. Also, he was considered a "gifted student" for a reason. He is literally listed as one of the smartest people in the Marvel Universe. I myself was a gifted student, which is proof enough that it isn't that far fetched of an idea. Thank you for reading my rant. Now if you don't mind, I'm going back to my "fun" project

The capability to create his own web is also "part of his spider powers", he would have never been able to create the web launcher otherwise. I know it may sound strange but its like that.
