If you have a Computer Science degree from an accredited university, decent GPA, and internship experience, you have nothing to worry about. If you're not a super-star coder, you may not land a job at a FAANG company right away, but you're essentially guaranteed a job at a "normal" company. If you don't have intern experience, you should work on some interesting side projects and put them on your GitHub.

The tech industry always mention a script on their job offering page “equal opportunity/affirmative Action Employer/Gender Identity,etc” but the fact is that they only sort candidates from IVY league. This is contradiction and giving false hope to others who doesn’t have an opportunity to pursue their academic grades… Hmm… :(

they only put that for legal purposes they don't actually believe in it. just like when they say things like "we believe in work life balance!" which is bullshit
@cpculture4641
@cpculture4641 Жыл бұрын
That’s actually incorrect..the only reason they put that there is because they want to sort out whose actually confident to apply..tech is growing so fast that collages are offering boot camps that have equal weight to a 4 year degree..it’s less time involved and pretty affordable.

Thanks for this interview, Mayuko. My question is "why are still there more tech jobless grads when there also more tech positions advertised"?
@carlsanc3880
@carlsanc3880 3 жыл бұрын
Because most grads are unhireable and have zero knowledge that can be applicable to real life scenarios. Imagine it’s your personal business, and you have limited money, need to get things done and done well, who do you hire? A kid that just got out of college or a seasoned engineer that knows how to build actual real life applications/tools?
@minismalls3096
@minismalls3096 2 жыл бұрын
@@carlsanc3880 if you have limited money how can you possibly afford a seasoned engineer? they are very expensive. this is why so many positions go unfilled, because companies want the best for the cheapest price. the fresh grad receives entry level pay, and has the time and tools to learn. nobody is being given a chance and that's why there's such a huge gap

I’m kind of confused of when she was talking about when to start applying like what dates did she mean? Also why did she say graduating in December is bad?
@axis2010
@axis2010 3 жыл бұрын
Generally speaking, most college students in the US graduate in the Spring (May). For these students, they should apply in the Fall prior to graduation. They would start their new job in the summer (June - Aug). For students graduating in December, there isn't as many full time jobs starting in January since most are in the summer.
