i own a 640i 2015, its great looking sexy car...must say a Pussy Magnet .....pretty reliable , good on fuel and 315 Hp is factory which is enough for me in Australia.

Not really miles vise but then all depends was car abused , regularly maintained etc , but you will definitely need to change an upgrade couple hoses pretty much all of them Eat some oil here and there if you have soft clothes, doors option, those actuators will definitely go bad , very much like any other car but the ride is fantastic. It’s fast comfortable powerful heavy, lol surprisingly not bad gas mileage if you behave all in all, I’m still enjoying mine in past eight years brother…….

If you really want to enjoy these cars then there is only one rule to follow. WARRANTY. I always get the extended warranty added onto the original warranty. I still have a year left on my Alpina B6 plus I added 3 more years and 36,000 miles.

Warranties only cover stuff when it breaks so u can’t pay for preventative maintenance so they don’t even help

Just make sure that build was after month off July, First few months of 2013 still have n63, July and later it’s n63TU

I wouldn’t call it a money pit but being different then rest of the BMW lineup, it does require premium prices on parts, accessories,etc and the engine vise is just like a rest or BMW lineup with her 4.4 - v8

What do you mean with the ECU? With the stock ECU it’s 450 hp if you have ECU flushed or reprogrammed You can increase I think All the way up to 600+ hp

This generation of 6 first released in 2010 which means it's developed around 2008 / 2009 (remember financial meltdown?). You can tell it's very cheaply designed & built compared with the previous generation. No wonder the original engine had some many defects - sounds pretty much a disaster. BMW reliability cannot compare with Porsche, still Porsche parts and services are no cheap either. As a long time 650i owner (still have the 2008 model), my hindsight is simple - stay away from German vehicles.

This gen actually started production in 2012 in the u.s. and 2011 in germany which would make earliest development around 2010

I test-drove this gen in the US back early 2011. A new gen typically takes three years to develop and finalize.
