Keep making videos. This is the best one I've seen to date when it comes to "how to". GREAT JOB!

Ive seen other videos which showed sometimes the adapter plate gets buggered up and has to be fine sanded in order to seal, so just slipping a new gasket in would actually not work.
@A.C.7122 күн бұрын
Agree 100% I did it this way and had no issues. Not worth being lazy on this one.

Thanks for video getting ready to replace mine been leaking for a while, I’m afraid my housing is pitted and will most likely need to replace the whole adapter.

Great video man, I’m wondering if it’s essentially the same process for a 2012 ford f150 3.5 ecoboost? Cracked the oil filter adapter when installing new sensor.

Are you sure this is navigator 03? Why isn't there a differential under the base? And my '04 has a differential blocking the handling space?

How much would a shop charge to do that

probably from 1-2 hours worth of labor

I just can't figure it out. I pinched the radiator hose and to be safe I pinched the hose from the bottle as well. When I pulled the hose off, radiator fluid poured from the housing itself. Just a free flow of gushing radiator fluid until I put the hose back on. I double checked my clamps and tried again and same.

yeah .. but you still have coolant in the block .. so its normal

Someone told me I have to remove the 4x4 axel ? My is a 2005 f150 5.4 3v 4x4 crewcab..can it be done the way he shows ?
@ethandupit7310 ай бұрын
Probably can do it without pulling. It will be a pain though. Just did my 2010 f150 5.4 3valve 4×4 and it was tight but manageable

I'm in the process of seeing just how annoying this quick project really is. I've got the Fx4 and it's a very tight if not impossible fit. I can't see the fourth bolt head
@A.C.7122 күн бұрын
@kevinwilks9403 I did not have to remove axel, O e bolt is a feel situation but other than that, it actually went pretty smoothly. I did take the advice of others and take the plate all the way off and really clean it well, there was some pitting etc I buffed down and smoothed out so no chances of having a leak.
@kevinwilks940322 күн бұрын
@A.C.71 thank you. Im managing. I found the one I couldn't see, with a borescope. Mine are a size 10mm. Engines got 312k miles on it so I hit the bolts with PB Blaster last night and will try again today.

@kevinwilks9403 if memory serves I used a 1/4 inch 10mm socket with an extension and wobbly

This gasket will also fail and allow oil in your coolant, making you think your head gasket is blown. Mine did not leak oil on the ground.
