How Safe is the Bivalent Booster Covid Vaccine Shot?

It may take sometime for the bivalent covid vaccine to be available in our country.
Now with XBB and XBC Variants have entered the country….
It is therefore recommended to use the Bivalent Covid Vaccine as the booster shot to protect us against the XBB and the other many subvariants now spreading worldwide.
But How safe is it?
What are the potential side effects of these new bivalent booster shots?

Hi Doc Gerry. Thank you for the info. I’ve had the Pfizer Bivalent, I only had body ache, site pain and lethargy for 2 days. Afterwards, everything was fine. Stay safe.

Good evening Dr. Tan I had the 1st two initial vaccines by Astra Zeneca in 2021. I had the 1st booster in November 2022, then March 2023, next set of 2 will be in July and November of this year. I would be doing the booster shots every 4 months (as per advice of health care professionals). I have a congenital heart defect, so I guess, I would be one of those "immuno compromised group". When I get my next booster, would I be able to have the Bivalent even if I had a different Pfizer boster shot? She is availae in the Philippines May 2023 apparently. Thank you for the info. doc, i had my bivalent pfizer vaccine last august 11, 2023 but no side effects. how long will the vaccine takes effect to the body?

@@DocGerryTan If I'd need a booster, I'd prefer the original one. Studies from Columbia and Harvard don't find the bivalent one to be better. FDA's Paul Offit repeatedly cautioned about this.
