I agree a lot with the things you said. The pros of this saudi merger with boxing is that we are getting the big fights we've always wanted like Bivol vs Beterbiev, Usyk vs Fury and other great matchups. On the flip side, I don't enjoy the atmosphere of the events and they do feel very dead and hollow. The arena is always dead quiet, even when the main event is about to start. I also don't like the performances and random concerts that we have to go through for no apparent reason. Luckily there was none of that in the day of reckoning card and I don't think there will be anymore concerts in upcoming events, at least I hope not. Also, I hope the saudis can come up with a way to unify all the belts so that all boxers fight for one undisputed belt rather than 4.

They are spending billions on top of billions right now in hopes of stimulating the economy down the line and i think theyre following the same gameplan for ppv sales: put on banger events one after another for a loss for the first couple years, eventually the returns will start coming in whether it be in ppv sales or just stimulating tourism to the country. Basically the same thing amazon did in its rise: invest every penny they earned for years to keep building their business and then focusing on profit and monetization once they start dominating their industry. With the other "negative" things ppl point out like sportswashing or the lack of loud fans cheering, I couldnt care less as long as the big fights are happening 🤣 Fights like Haney vs Tank or Joshua vs Fury are so big i would pay to watch them scrap in a garage with noone around if that was the only option.

I remember watching a video that claimed countries like US which rely on Saudi's oil have started to innovate energy production (following the recent Russia-Ukraine conflict) and are now less inclined to protect Saudi Arabia from its multitude of enemies that stemmed from its shaky hold on authority, history, relying on Western powers, etc. (IIRC) Seeing that their beloved oil exports could be in a downward trend in the upcoming decades, pursuing other means to stay afloat would be the obvious move to make. Their Vision 2030 is their way to turn SA into a tourist destination, and Boxing seems to be the sport that fits their agenda.
