I love how it is all, "if the rams simply did this..." Not a single thing saying the Vikings earned the win. Let's not mention that it was the first time that Gurly didn't make a single defender miss (ie. tackling for the Vikings was on point) or that the Vikings DL constantly beat the Ram's OL and got 13 QB pressures (2nd most pressures that the Ram's had seen to that point this season). I guess if the Vikings were a better team, the Ram's would not have scored a single point, but they are only a decent unit and the Vikings were just lucky that the Ram's had a rookie HC.

Savage Got Game they shut the falcons out completely for the the first three quarters. And what I mean is that the offense doesn't need to put up 34 points a game to win anymore because the defense is currently allowing less than 14 points a game. It doesn't matter how many yards you allow. Because red zone defence is the most important defence. Also they're allowing a lot less yardage right now, their overall stats just look bad because of shitty defense in the early season. Sorry didn't mean to write a novell.

Brett Kollmann the double A gap set has 25 basic setups before they even get to tricky. I don't think you really know your xs and os that well. Harrison Smith is also statistically the best safety in history this year and he has the ability to move around based on his own personal pre snap reads which is a huge part of the defense.

Only after the fact. Its easy to watch the game and say what will work against a certain offense or defense. Hindsight is 20/20.
@mitchellanderson39606 жыл бұрын
This is exactly why Zimmer is against having video access on the sidelines and only having stills or seeing it from a booth; any one can catch onto what a team is doing if they can replay it over and over again. Adjust by feeling and seeing it, not by video.

Can you do a video about how McVay got his revenge and spanked Zimmer’s defense?
@kylelandon13587 жыл бұрын
Like the breakdown! Although you correct about your second trap example (Gurley TD), I do think the first 2 examples were just split zone looks. That is inside zone with a crossing blocker (TE in those examples) to take care of the unblocked DE. This is what McVay and Shanahan run a lot of their boots off of. As soon as the DE squeezes that block too hard the boot will be called and the TE will release into the flats. Great stuff!

When the Rams played the niners, I noticed they would sometimes quick-set-and-snap. The defense and camera would not be ready for it. It was a bit tough to see what they were doing, but it was really interesting and effective. And in Goffs mic’ed up segment his cadence would start with “turtle” or “turbo.” When the Rams, or basically only the Patriots, bust out their hurry up, seems like especially the first couple games of the season, it’s so effective and easy. “Why doesn’t every team do this?” But when other teams try it, inevitably they are sloppy in or inaccurate. Drop, false start, something kills the drive. Conversely, teams that can do it well, the defense is afraid to set up late, so then the offense can wait and adjust the play after the D has shown their hand. Slightly related, but in Seattle’s 2 min offense they are just able to get lined up and set for the next play sooo much faster than bad offenses. Why?!!? Can you do a video about Patriots or Rams tempo, especially turbo?

@Perceptious376 жыл бұрын
on that play around 4:20, Goff was just staring down 81. He should have been looking through 89 so he could see the cross between Kupp and 89, while still having peripheral vision on the flat and to see if Watkins was burning his defender. Goff is bad, but this was a great play that should have been a 1st down to Kupp on his slant. Goff even plants at the perfect time to throw to Kupp, but he is too busy staring down 81 to see the whole field. So, he just scrambles and throws an incompletion and still takes a hit.
