in the time it took them to make that one muffler some machines stamped out and welded 100 of these things in some big automated factory. But.... It is good to see people that still understand how to do things by hand. I hate that so many people have forgotten the skills of our grandparents.

@@annoyingbstard9407 Yeah well they are doing it with the most basic tools and likely only on the job training. Not to mention i am sure they make all sorts of other stuff. Not just the same thing every day. These are people that are making due with what they have and getting the job done. You have to have at least some respect for that.

@@plaid13 No. I have little respect for a nation of people that knocks out children purely to provide them with ongoing cheap labour. These are all little family businesses that employ kids as young as nine and no, this business will make just these exhausts and the people working there will have no experience of anything else in their lives that’s until they lose a hand eye or worse when they will be left to beg or starve. Until Pakistan actually takes some action to stop this sort of misuse of its people it will always exist in the Stone Age.

So how does the custom manufacturing happen now ,have people started using nose instead of hands. For bulk manufacturing there are different cheaper solutions. This is an order to make factory where the parts that have gone obsolete or are on long back orders can be quickly produced as an alternative and fyi the same guy can make 20 different steel sheet made parts in his own workshop not just custom mufflers .

In the early '90s, I worked for a company that wrote software for small phone companies. In one of the sales meetings with a potential new customer, we were listing all the time-saving features. The potential customer, a county-owned telephone system, asked if these features could be disabled. Why? Because they viewed their role as one of not just providing phone service to the county, but employment as well. Sometimes it isn't about efficiencies.

They're lazy. It's a culture of laziness. In America, our culture of laziness leads to amazing innovations in the name of making things easier and taking less time. In their culture, they're too lazy to change. Also, poverty. But there comes a point where poverty is no longer an excuse. Like, everyone and their dog in these videos has a stick welder. This guy does not. I'll grant, there's probably some merit to oxy-acetelyne welding thin sheet metal. But why cut holes with a chisel? They already have a drill press. Would a couple of hole saws really break the bank? Doubt it.

Excellent work ! The master and his crew deserves all the credit. Prerfect example of “Hard working + Talent “. However, the master should have paid more attention to his and workers’ health. He does this everyday ! Safety brother , safety ! Gloves, Eye protection , mask and better shop organization. This missing part in all Pakistan Repair videos is the “ professional working culture”. This is something can be achieved if the government comes up with better training, affordable power tools, improved “ working condition” standards, and imposing the laws. So, improved efficiency and better human health can be achieved , so the prosperity of the society.

It interesting to see this made by hand. In the US if you made this muffler by land using these techniques it would cost hundreds of dollars for even a small vehicle muffler. The cost of labor is much higher. That's why a machine can produce hundreds a day to compensate for increase labor cost. Even with increased capacity we still can't compete labor cost wise with China.
