So fascinating to me to see how many cultures this is a part of and it always signifies joy. I had no idea that our Native American tribes do this as well as the Arabs.

SoutheastasiaOceania 1. i’m southern african, people from Zambia down to South Africa ululate, its a very common fact and i see it at home celebrations. 2. i have seen in documentaries and films that people from the Arab region also ululate, search ululate on youtube and the first few videos that come up are of east and southern africans along with people from the Middle Eastern region. you came on the internet to fight for no reason lol, i don’t know why you’re angry, at least search and educate yourself on cultures before you make bold statements, you’re only embarrassing yourself
@Txitxitt4 жыл бұрын
We do this in arabia arabic tribes always do like this when they want to celebrate Btw Indigenous women are really pretty
@jvampyre17443 жыл бұрын
Is it just the women in arabic countries that do it? Or do the men ululate as well?? And for same of different reasons?
@معرفةوترفيه-ت2ظ3 жыл бұрын
@@jvampyre1744 For most of the Arab world, only women ululate. I think most guys attempted it at least once in their life though.
@jabu1591 Жыл бұрын
@@jvampyre1744Men don’t ululate in Arab countries, it’s a false stereotype typically seen in family guy. I’m not Arab but Berber and our men don’t ululate but the women do for celebration

This is a great video! I always come back when I want something to smile about.😄 I shocked my folks when they first discovered that I could lulu. My auntie and cousins were floored and lost their minds. Heck, I surprised myself because I never practiced before, let alone even knew I had that gift. Mom says that I should always practice and never lose my ability to lulu. She even said at some point that I should enter in a lulu contest the next time we go to another powwow. It's even funnier because I am half-white. I guess that's my indian spirit coming out. 🤣

Hmmm. How do I ask this. How much is enough native american to say "I'm part native american". For example, my Great Grandma was native, giving me juuuust enough genetic material to tan better than most white people. But seriously, I would feel SO SILLY if I ever said "Oh yeah I'm part native american". Fuck was she great great gma?? I think she was just one great. I only met her once and don't know about that side of my family. But it's a running joke, the whole "I'm 1/64th native america (or in my case 1/8th).
@kilipaki87oritahiti6 жыл бұрын
jessicamshannon If your grandparent is/was native, yes. In my opinion, as long as you have it in your blood. But tbh what matters is the heart.
@kristinboxwell4 жыл бұрын
My bloodline is so diluted with many different ethnicity. But it's the opposite for me, because our paternal side on my maternal side, is all white, not sure what specifically was told Welsh but I have an English last name so I'm not certain, my grandfather (my mothers father passed when I was a baby) never met any of his side of the family) my grandmother on my mother's side had a white father as well again not sure what specifically. Never met a single one of that side either. 🤷🏻♀️ my native side is all I know. I married a native man, so my kids bloodline is a bit stronger.
