Thanks for clearing that up. I still respect the Sardauna regardless. I guess some his actions and dealings explains why he was marked for elimination in the first military coup.

Bello's cup became full, when himself, Balewa, and Akintola conspired to imprison Awolowo so they could easily win the 1964 Nigerian general election and remain in power.

This is how truth of history shows self. This is the cause of the 1966 coup de tat because the British set up in the North/Nigeria was about to be dismantled. Abacha dethroned Sultan Dasuki and paid the same prize too. Obasanjo survives because he is their yesman, the one they could trust. Nigerians should now know that the coup had nothing to do with Igbo. Unfortunately for the British, they coup failed to put one of theirs, Chief Awolowo into office. Aguiyi Ironsi got in and the following day, the BBC turned something that was hailed as a nationalist coup into a tribal act. The opportunity arose for them to get back power they felt had lost hence pushed the country to civil war. Till date, the problem of Nigeria is Lagos and the Emirates in the North who are the British representatives in Nigeria, robbing the nation to its knees. Any government that does not recognize this fact is doomed. Nigeria needs another Abacha with this experience.

Research well before writing a script. Why will say Sanusi 1 is the 11 emir of Kano?. Where to you put the Hausa emirs abi they no rule kano?. You can't delete the history of Hausas Lie lie...

@@DienEbriI think it may have something to do with the fact that Muhammad Sanusi I wasn't the 11th emir of Kano if Hausa rulers are included. While I am not sure, Muhammadu Sanusi can be said to be the 11th Fulani Emir of Kano. That's most likely the "Ishu".

Bello was arrogant, tribalist, ambitious and above all a victim of British divide and rules which continued till this day. In North they “British” succeeded as well as west with the exception of east that would even come to try to hold Nigeria together.

@laurenceabilunier, really, but the history told us that British handed over Nigeria to Tafawa and Azikiwe, both are from North and East, and the opposition leader which was Awolowo was from West, Tafawa and Azikiwe were ruled Nigeria from 1960 to 1966.

@@love-heartbamaiyi4258 you completely missed my point. Nevertheless go on with your point. Infighting amongst Northerners and another infighting amongst Westerners. Read between the lines. That actually would define the birth of tribal politics instead of national politics. The other person ( Eastern) bridges but it never holds. Your next attempts to intervene in serious issues like this should involve serious research based on historical accuracy devoid of sentiment and malaise. The Sardauna remains the most pragmatic leader , who would have made the North an envy of the other regions. He was a leader with courage, conviction, confidence, and capacity. He remains the most revered post colonial leader of Nigeria.
