Ross did talk about some contract and even showed he signed away his channel to Sky in the beginning. Really looking back at it, it seemed like the definition of not involving money and friends though questionable if they were friends, not to mention the decisions that Sky made as apparently he got in a ton of debt for the channel and used Ross’s channel as collateral, which is exactly what happened and you can even see his old channel had videos from people that weren’t him.

I'm someone who is Bipolar and Autistic (among 3 other disorders), and I'll just say for the record, they *cannot* be used as an excuse for 99% of his actions. Mental Illness is only a possible excuse if the person in question is clearly genuinely trying to get better and to improve their negative aspects. Adam was not. Hopefully he is now.

Man finding out everything with skydoesminecraft hit my heart badly. I remember my boyfriend saying he got outted for being a bad person. This was like 2 years ago I believe? I cried on call because this person was my whole childhood and inspired me to be a minecraft youtuber. I watched his parkour videos multiple times and even started off the new decade with an old mario parkour he did, i watched his mod showcases, cops n robbers, his paradise parody, SkyDoesGaming, his roleplay videos with sky media, everything! After reading about what he did, I feel so bad that Elizabeth did not want to come out with this information because she felt like it would break kids hearts. She should never have to feel afraid of protecting kids from such a bad person, and I hope she’s at peace. Plus ever since he “quit” youtube and rebranded as NetNobody he’s been trying to build up that brand. I saw him trying to bring back people from his past as a way to get old fame, but when some of his friends didn’t want to come on the episodes, he kept saying “i don’t know what their problem is with me, sorry if i did anything, but it’s his fault if he doesn’t wanna come on” and it felt so off. Even the way he was kind of defending Jinbop after his arrest and saying “he’s never been a bad person to me and never acted that way around me so..”

As a kid, I was hopelessly attached to Sky. I had hit a rough patch in my life that was effecting the way I was growing into a teen, and I spent countless hours watching his content. If he had been any worse of a person, countless children like me would have potentially had been abused by him. It says a lot that the only worse thing you could have done was groom and abuse children, but considering he turned a blind eye to Jinbop doing so there might be more to uncover, especially since Sky openly defended him.

I will fully admit to having been basically a "fan" of Sky in a weird way since at least 2014, so I've seen much of both the heyday and the downfall. That being said, I was more a fan of the people they played with than them specifically. Same here buddy! My parents have also noticed that nearly every major Minecraft KZbinr from the early to mid 2010s all suffered a horrendous downfall. This also goes for other major KZbinrs whose content wasn’t centered around Minecraft. Meanwhile, the less popular but still highly successful KZbinrs seem to be better off. Likely because they don’t spend so much time and energy into doing KZbin or building an online brand. The internet truly is beyond awesome, though it seems overrated and it’s probably a good idea to take a break from it sometimes and doing something else for a while.

I had a friend (actually 2 friends; both are now ex-friends) who was OBSESSED with SkyDoesMinecraft. To an unhealthy degree. She would literally draw, RP or ship Sky with other people from Team Crafted (mainly Deadlox; not even joking.) When the initial controversies began coming out years ago, she literally our friend group not to talk about it "because it was upsetting her". Yeah. She said that. Which made me start to hate Sky's videos, and made me start regretting starting a friendship with her and the others (which would later end in late 2020 for unrelated reasons.)

I personally wasn't a fan either of skydoesminecraft, the only places I saw them was on minecraft animated videos and later tommy's videos, I honestly had no clue all of this was going on and I'm glad Adam simple left and got the help they needed because in every single stories i hear about a content creator that went down the deep end they either get arrested, ignore the issue and continue the problem, disappear out of no where, and etc. not one have I heard one actually go and get therapy. I hope that if he ever does come back which is very unlikely, he will be a better person and be the person everyone wanted him to be. Now in case there's any confusion, no I'm not on Adam's side on this whole thing, I just feel that although the environment he grew up in definitely didn't help him growing up as a person, it does not excuse what he did, and I hope he ends up learning from his mistake.

I watched sky a whole bunch as a kid and i only stopped watching him after i got over minecraft. But after those few years i got back into minecraft and started to enjoy it again and then i started to wonder what had happened too all those minecraft youtubers were doing…… and seeing this i just hope he just gets help that is all i can say.

I'm pretty good at not getting attached to internet personalities, although the situation with Sky is still disappointing for me. I remember at least giving Sky some benefit of the doubt. And then he kept getting into controversies. And then finally, the bit bombshell dropped. It was such a fall. A part of me does feel a bit bad for Sky, but he's a menace to society so the feeling doesn't last long.

It was mind-blowing seeing how many people he ended up effecting. Like I know people were like Adam simps and it shows, the internet took their side for everything and when the truth come out, many people's stories did. Alesa was made the bad guy, when she was a victim herself, she played the role of bad guy well, when everyone made her into one and what's worse, hearing her story how Adam took her wallet, car keys, then left her in a house with no food while she was heavily pregnant for hours is absolutely horrible. Also Dawnables, Adam's first girlfriend, Alesa basically confirmed she was blackmailed off the internet by him. Also behind the scenes, Max, Ross, and Tim revealed that Sky Media was not the "coolest place on earth". Adam had everyone bully Tim, knew Jinbop's interactions with younger audiences, Adam chooses when they come in to do content and basically had two schedules, the one where they come in and the one where everyone is "lazy and ungrateful". Also Max admitted the place was an absolute dump of a place. Max and Ross also talked about how everyone had to have a gimmick, Max had to be the mad one, Ross had to be the dumb one. Also probs didn't help that Ross basically lost his original channel as he sold away the rights to it to Adam and when people were whining and crying over him not being a Narwhal, because of the old Sky days, Ross was forced to change and he couldn't say so or when he did, people turned a blind eye to it. Max was offered a similar deal, which would restrict his online life and everything, he turned it down. Honestly, it's just... wow. The problem is, Adam was doing this for a long time, even before the Team Crafted days and everyone was scared of them. It's just good it's out in the open, but they're planning on doing a documentary and you know it's gonna paint them in a good light.

I slightly disagree here. I don't think it was a lack of confidence, but rather it was a very different game intended for a very different audience. Early Minecraft, and some of the earliest Minecraft communities, was very technical. The main audience at the start was mostly young adults (maybe 15-25 or even 30 range?) and if you look back at some of the early Minecraft stars (Etho, Sethbling, X's Adventures, PaulSoaresJr, Yogscast), they'll all older adults. Minecraft mechanics were largely unknown at the time, so their videos tended to be more technical explorations of game mechanics, like redstone, farming, survival, and just figuring out how the game worked. It wasn't until a couple years in that it started to gain more appeal for children, and with it, KZbinrs that focused on comedy and entertainment.

God I remember not understanding anything and being sad about his Channel going under. But now, following Mithzan and YourPalRoss I absolutely hate how much I ever contributed to that channel, I hate how I was once subscribed to J*n B*p, I hate myself for ever feeling bad for him whenever Alisa left him with Mason, and I hate myself for still loving some of his content… I hate that it makes me laugh…It still makes me laugh.

Not sure what you mean by saying Adam was one of the few to carry a video through comedy and personality. Comedy has had a place in Minecraft videos since the beginning.? I also was never a fan of Sky, but I had a friend who was, and I found the second-hand exposure incredibly annoying.
