Like watching you navigate this new way of life. I do not buy like I used to. I tend to borrow an item from a friend before I buy for example a waffle maker I borrowed it for a month and used it twice. So no need to buy one. No impulse buying and I no longer let influencers persuade me to buy as I've learned they benefit from it and most of time I really didn't need it. I've got rid of a lot of my stuff as it was just stuff. Its actually really empowering when you get there. All the best with this life style change it can be so rewarding and a great feeling knowing you are not following anymore and just doing you and what works for you.

I am really enjoying this new direction you are including amongst your videos because this has always been part of my frugal living strategies, though I didn't know the phrase "slow living". I have used the term seasonal living because an essential component for me has been living in the season and embracing what is wonderful about it now, like you mentioned the opportunity to go bike riding with your family. That is a joy of these warmer months and in the winter it might be outdoor winter activities together like skating or sledding, or indoor cozy activities like board games and hot cocoa. No/low cost simple things that celebrate the season we are in rather than longing for or spending exta money trying to create the different season (like buying strawberries in January)

Thank you for this video Lara, one of my favourite slow living things to do is star gazing! Just from my back garden, I can see so much on a clear night. And it's totally free! ❤xx✨🌠⭐💫

Oh wow, that sounds amazing! What a beautiful thing to do. I adore star gazing too! Sadly there’s a lot of light pollution where I live but I still love looking at the skies at night ✨✨

I used to keep a list of things I would like to have. Then in spring til fall when I went to yard & garage sales, estate sales and flea markets (not sure where that term came from but there are no fleas, lol). If I found it for an excellent price, usually 90-99% off I would buy it. I think you call yard & garage sales boot sales. I found brand new in the box small appliances for $5 that new are $60-120 in stores, designer clothes with tags on for $0.50-$1. It was like a treasure hunt.

Hi Laura! I think you’re doing a great job ‘introducing’ the concept of slow living to viewers who may not have known about it or didn’t know it had a name. I’m sorry some people feel like it’s worth taking time out of their days to be jerks in the comments. You’re doing great and I hope you feel the larger support from the community you’ve built here. Best wishes!

Ah, thank you so much for your comment! It's seems wild to me someone would comment that, especially as I've documented the "journey" in a few videos and said that it's all new to me. I hope that for anyone as clueless as me it's helpful to see me navigating it. When I started I didn't have a clue how big the whole topic was, I just felt drawn to slowing down, but it's amazing how huge the community is and how many people are looking to slow down this busy life of ours! But anyway, I hope whomever that was finds content they prefer and realises we're real people behind the channel and videos! Thanks again xx

It's almost like her management company told her "slow living is trending now, get on it". Feels forced :(
@LaraJoannaJarvis

This is so unkind and unnecessary, not to mention untrue. I doubt my "management company" even know I've done this video, or any videos about slow living. I have been really enjoying exploring a slower way of life recently after burning out but it's all new to me, so I am learning as I go. I live a very fast paced life, so I wanted to document it for anyone else who is interested but has no idea where to start or how to do it. Having made money saving videos for years I thought it would be interesting to explore the cross over.
