This makes Chaldea servants and enemy servants/wild servants sense. We basically owned a permanent copy of a hero and if somehow the same copy are in the same room they just fused.

The rules regarding servant memory is quite muddy in FGO but there are often some instances that do offer explanation, like some of the Apocrypha servants. For example, LB Avicebron does remember Apocrypha but not like a memory as if he was there but rather like reading a book that said a copy of him killed a child that was his master (he mentions not even remembering Roche's face). Meanwhile Semiramis remembers the relation between her APO version and Amakusa but does not show that much emotion herself because "her feelings," referring to the APO copy. And Amakusa himself was an exceptional situation where after his APO summoning that was done with meddling with the Holy Grail summoning system, but his fake Ruler class that did not qualify got something akin to a save game that recorded his Ruler version using Apocrypha self as the base, as he mentioned it in his first interlude. Basically, what FGO is doing is making use of how the heroic spirit version can receive records of the memories of their copies but unlike the gacha in game, the probability of them having certain memories of past events in the franchise is stacked in our favor.

To make it more simple the more clout you have the higher chance of becoming a Heroic Spirit but if you have too much clout you won't get summon because you too damn strong like most divine Servants. Also it depend on how much lore+feats they have to materialize in the first place.

The fact that the Fifth holy grail war contains GOATS such as Cu and Hercules is so much wilder with this information. Like, Saber and Gil are there due to shenanigans with the Fourth war, but Herc and Cu have MASSIVE cultural significance. Herc even being summonable with his fame is kinda stupid.

In grail war it's just mages hacking the system for their own use, the grail and ruler keeping the rules to the best of their ability In addition Suazang in Camelot say usually summoning servant isn't even possible:the best normal mage craft can do is evoking a certain aspect of the heroic spirits (something like a blessing from them: getting intelligence from a smart heroic spirits for example), grails or/and true magic allows to get to a servant

The contradictory and excuse plot nature of lot of the nasuverse makes things needlessly complicated and confusing. From what I understand, heroic spirits directly interact with the second and third magic due to existing beyond time as every version of themselves and being an ascended state of the soul. As such, summoning even a fragment of them in the form of servants requires the second magic to pull aspects of them from the throne and the third to materialize them into pre prepared class vessels. Presumably, variants like demi servants and class cards can bypass use of the third magic by manifesting the power of a servant into an existing person instead of truly summoning them. What makes the most sense about the memories is that the heroic spirit on the throne remembers their summonings but since servants are only aspects of their full selves, what memories they get in their summoning varies. They generally remember the entire lifetime that version of them lives through but have a disposition specific to the time and aspect of themselves they represent. What they remember from past summonings can vary and there are presumably ways to manipulate that in the summoning process the same way the class and version of the heroic spirit you get can also be manipulated. The grail system would have strong incentive to block memories of past summonings from carrying over if summoning the same heroic spirit more than once and the memories could potentially get degraded if their essence went into the grail to be used as a power source vs getting dispelled back to the throne directly. Without tampering around the summoning, I would expect servants to remember past summonings within the timeline they're currently in but not the ones in other timelines. TBH the agents of the counterforce explanation for heroic spirits doesn't make much sense when some of them are exactly the kinds of people that would get the counterforce summoned against them. There's also the issue of counterguardians being distinct from heroic spirits in being agents of the counterforce preserved by Alaya solely for that purpose. It makes more sense if the throne of heroes is like how magecraft systems get engraved into the world by strong belief but with souls. Potent legends get engraved into the world and the associated soul is preserved in the throne as a result. The original meaning of the term hero wasn't really a moral thing so much as people who achieved great deeds worth remembering, which alongside varying moral standards easily accounts for heroic spirits being morally diverse. Incidentally, it especially doesn't make sense for Gaia to summon heroic spirits as part of its counterforce since the throne seems to be more Alaya's thing, preserving human souls. Gaia would hate that. It also already has the reverse side of the world to stash its gods and phantasmal beings, who specifically don't reside within the throne of heroes. Their spiritual nature and inability to reside within the current state of the world would justify being able to summon some of them as servants but they specifically should not be from the throne of heroes even if they have some other similar atemporal place of residence managed by Gaia. FGO had to do a lot of screwy stuff to justify its plot but it really makes the most sense if most heroic spirits were never really intended to be summoned so much as the rules of the world as defined by humanity demanded that their legends and souls be preserved and people eventually figured out how to make use of that. Another thing that doesn't make sense if the servant classes still applying outside of the grail system since they were specifically a method of standardizing the traits and abilities invoked from heroic spirits within the limited forms they could be summoned into. The knight classes even seem to have been designed to give the 3 founding families an advantage over the 4 other participants in the grail war.

Servants are clones in the sense the main body would have all the skills and noble phantasms of a hero instead of them being lost if not summoned as the right class. The grail is using incomplete 3rd magic, if it was the real deal servants would recreate themselves on the spot when destroyed and never fade

Souls are broken down and reincarnated upon death, so it's pretty much impossible to summon the original person. All the throne does is record data on the person as this happens and uses it as a template for summonings; but this is somewhat iffy since this data can include pretty much *anything* even remotely related to that person, take Vlad III for instance and how his legacy influenced his form as a servant. And about heaven's feel... yes and no. It does in fact use heaven's feel to summon them but apparently it's an incomplete version that can only do so temporarily. Unless the servant falls in grail mud, actually makes a wish successfully on the grail, or is just an exception to the rule, they won't be fully incarnated and will need mana to stay afloat.

Despite how informative this video was, I'm still confused by the nature of Heroic Spirits. Specifically, the Grand Servant. Like, I know the requirements all that, but I just can't seem to grasp the need of a Grand Servant. From what I understand on this video, and my own research, Magus's can't summon Heroic Spirits because it's too difficult and are beyond them, so they developed the Servant System instead. Servants are a subset of Heroic Spirits; beings made by the Holy Grail by creating cheap bodies to hold a portion of a Heroic Spirit power. Not only that, but these beings are divided into classes, each with it's own set of unique skills and parameters. Some Servants can be summoned in different classes, because they had many different talents and skills in their life. Like Cu who is a master spearman but is also a capable mage in Rune Magecraft. If he is summoned as a Lancer he'll have stats suitable for close range combat, if his summoned as Caster he has stats with a high mana pool. Though he still capable of using runes in his Lancer, and is still has martial skills in Caster form, those aspects are nerfed in their respective bodies, because their vessel weren't built on accommodating all of his skills. Not to mention that each class has a unique Noble Phantasm. Only the World itself (Gaia) is capable of summoning a True Heroic Spirit. From what I understand, "True" Heroic Spirits aren't limited by classes. They have all of their skills and talents available, with a parameters to compliment it. And they are only called upon if the world is in danger. But that's like the same function of a Grand Servant. If you boil it down, is just the same, only they have the condition of only being summon against a Beast class enemy, which supposedly make them the strongest, yet they're not as great as a "True" Heroic Spirit 😅. Like Grand's are still divided by classes, which means their stats and skills are narrowed down on a specific field of combat that the hero is good at, even if they have talents on other fields. Yes, I know that they're suppose to be the best at what they can do, but why limit your last line of defense and not let them have the stats to compliment all of their strengths? Not only that, there are strict requirements to become a Grand Servant, and even if you do become a Grand you can lose the title if you decided to be generous without Gaia's consent. Like seriously, why is that a thing? King Hassan lost his Grand title because he was helping Chaldea, even though he was fighting a Beast of Calamity, the sole reason why his position EXISTS in the first place. This is also makes me question the existence of Heroic Spirits in general. Because the Throne of Heroes was made to have warriors that counter against threats against the world, the Grands covered that. Then we have Counter Guardians who prevent possible threats from rising up, or ambitious mages close to reaching the Root. Everything else in-between seems unnecessary. Unless I'm missing something that still give purpose to other Heroic Spirits. I just can't seem to understand what sets these different variations apart.
