(the joke is neither metaphor is accurate because the replaced subjects don't relate in a similar way. what tax avoidances are to tax returns is not equal to what emulators are to speedruns. The concepts that bind the two are different in both circumstances, and therefore, there is no accurate metaphor.)

"Demon's Souls is the From Software game that I think people are likely least familiar with." There is absolutely no way that is true. Most people probably only know about the Dark Souls trilogy, Demon's Souls, Bloodbourne, Sekiro, Elden Ring, and maybe the King's Field tetralogy. Out of the almost 75 games they have made, I'd bet Demon's Souls ranks as their 7th most well known game. That's in the 90th percentile! Here are just a few that I would wager are all far less well known than Demon's Souls, and even King's Field; Shadow Tower I & II Eternal Ring Evergrace Forever Kingdom Lost Kingdoms I & II Otogi II Ninja Blade And that is only the games that are at least kind of similar to the gameplay of the Soul's series. They've made many more games, dabbled in a lot of genres. They've made a lot of mecha games, like A LOT.
