Some "Trivia" kind Sir...when Emmons (PSG's) came out first; with the split screws (On the right END of the changers); I went wild when Buddy Emmons used that one split. IE: "6 String", flatting 1 tone (knee lever); and the same 6 string; sharping a half tone (with the B pedal). So the note is a G. Another change using 2 pulls; on the same string at the same fret. WOW! Then many others started to use that change. But I saw many other changers. Sadly, The SGF kinda laughed at me. So, here today, you are doing it. And you made my day dear brother. And your brother. May Jesus bless you and yours always dear friends. P.S. there is another "split" on the "9th string" with a strange change. If you want, I will explain it here.

Where & how do you make that adjustment if my guitar doesn’t have split tuning?
@SteelPicking3 ай бұрын
I would have to think on that. Ask around on the steel guitar fourm. Lot of good info there. Your new guitar does not have allen screw adjustments on the end of the pull mechanism on the pickup side above the nylon tuners?

Am I correct that splits only work on all pull mechanisms? I think I've heard that push-pull guitars can't do them.
@MrPatdeeee Жыл бұрын
That is correct.

That's good info to know; thanks. Just curious, are there any advantages to push-pull guitars over all-pulls?

I am sure there are two camps of thought on this. I know tone is a big factor also the ability to split a note. But having said that there is so much music on a 3x4 set up it would take a person a life time to figure it out on either guitar. Keep Picking! Aaron

@@SteelPicking Are you saying push-pulls might have better tone than all-pulls? I would have thought tone would be more about the pickup. As far as using splits, I'm really interested in experimenting with my own custom copedants, and being able to choose between lowering a string a half step, raising it a whole step, or raising it a half step seems very versatile, especially for things like playing complex jazz chords.

The new Emmons resound push/pull can do splits. The Orginal push/ pulls cannot.
