I’m 57 just had a calcium score test came in at 108 , first thing doctor prescribed statins till I seen a cardiologist, went to cardiologist passed with flying colours I’m very fit and work out regularly blood pressure perfect cholesterol slightly elevated, so cardiologist insisted on statins,on doing some research I quickly came to the conclusion that my decision to never starting the medication was the best choice for me,and I’m very comfortable with that decision 😊

My blood tests showed that I had high LDL, low HDL and high triglycerides. My doctor warned me that I would have to lower my cholesterol by correcting my present diet of fast food. After three months of trying and failing, my cholesterol showed even worse levels. He prescribed statins. I resisted and pleaded for another three months to improve my diet. I kept trying and falling off the wagon because I am so addicted to carbs, sugars, oils and whatnot. This time doc said I was to start statins at once because cholesterol had climbed higher and started showing up as yellow xanthoma bumps on my face. He also advised that I see a cardiologist because of chest pain and arrhythmia. I secretly continued to abstain from starting statins but this time I was more successful with my diet. Plus, I am doing intermittent fasting and going for long walks. The xanthoma are still there - two bumps under my eyes - but I have managed to nutrify myself with meat and veggies, mostly. One indicator of improvement is a small but noticeable reduction in visceral fat, gingivitis reduced by, like, 80 per cent and improved sleep, even though my stress levels due to family issues remain the same. Overall, I feel better and hopeful. Thinking of adding supplements like niacin and tudca. Still resisting statins and blood thinners. My doctor is not happy with my stubbornness. New blood test tomorrow and cardiologist meeting the day after. 🤞

Egg yolks, olive oil and avocados all get rid of the bad cholesterol. But everyone needs the good cholesterol in every cell in the body especially the brain because without it you will have brain fog. In fact, people with the highest good cholesterol levels actually live the longest. Statins, msg and tylenol wipe out the good cholesterol and then you start to develop dementia. Also if you are looking to get rid of belly fat, eat cottage cheese and drink kefir every day as they have CLA in them. Also taking COQ10 and Vitamin C and B Complex are good for the heart.

After a few months I could not do my daily walk of 6000 steps. Went to my gp twice before she sent me for a blood test. Ck was very elevated indicating muscle damage. Stopped the statins immediately. I eventually stopped taking them. But intense exercises pre surgery dropped my chol. to normal. And learned more about side effects of statins. I became "prediabetic". So I never started again. Hi, my doctor prescribes statins rosuvastatin (Crestor) for cholesterol control. After a year I developed what could be similar to Alzheimer's symptoms. I had difficulty remembering things ( 15 minutes of memory ).I had been tested with the Montreal test and they said that I could have the beginning of Alzheimer's. After that I went to the internet google and KZbin and from there some KZbin doctors told in a video that statins were affecting cholesterol and that the brain made up with a lot of it. Guest what, I stopped taking those statins and 2 weeks after I didn't have any symptoms. A real miracle, I could have continue taking that medicine and have bad symptoms for the reste of my life. KZbin had made me realize what could have been the source of my problem. No thanks to my doctor and his staff. . LESSON : STATINE ARE NOT WITHOUT RISK!

I did that and my LDL doubled. I increased my exercise, reduced calories, cut out starchy carbs - increased oily fish and greens and increased my lentil and chickpeas in place of white grains - lost ten pounds give or take and my doctor prescribed statins for my high LDL despite all my low blood sugar, inflammation, and health HDL (even though a subtraction blood test showed I'm pattern A).

I had a stent fitted and was immediately prescribed with statins. After a few months I noticed a large amount of hair loss. This I understand is rare, but it has been proven to happen. My GP took me off the statins and I had a further blood test for my cholesterol after three months. My level had dropped slightly after my life style and diet changes. I have not taken statins since. There is a contradiction with the man in the middle where he says "You shouldn't reduce your statins without your doctors permission" and then he says you can reduce them when you get your lifestyle right. Is that if the doctor gives his permission? In hospital the main manta was make sure you take your medication. What if they don't give their permission?

I then started researching and went low carb and cut sugar and seed oils I lost 40 lbs and started taking Nattokinase and other supplements my BP went down on average to 105/60 I hope this works because statins would have killed me. I think the problem is with blood clotting because I have one side of factor 5 gene which causes my blood to clot 10% faster than normal and my doctor said 60% of the people in this country have it but never have a problem with it.

If you're triglycerides this is often indicative that you're 'small particle' LDL is high. This is the only part of cholesterol that is actually thought to be problematic but needs a more in depth test. This is caused by inflammatory bad lifestyle choices, ie too much sugar, trans fats/seed oils, processed carbs, alcohol, inactivity, poor sleep and stress. Research because there is lots of information out there.....

Not the animal protein and fat that man and women have evolved to consume over hundreds of thousands of years. Interesting that heart attacks have only been an issue since humans started eating low fat, high carb. foods. She lived for 8 years, 7 of which she was bed bound due to a fall. She was frightened to be mobile. Up until the last two weeks, she would smile at us. Then the disease got to the point that even water caused her pain. Her mother, sister, and brother all developed Alzheimer's type dementia. She had two sons and both are not eating fat-free foods and eating to fuel their bodies and not strictly to please their taste buds or fill up. I predict neither one will have dementia.
