Great comparison! Having tested both motors, the weakest point of the SX is the absolute lack of torque on very steep uphill single trails. The type of trails where you have a very challange terrain and the cadence can’t be high nor constant becouse of steps, tight switchback, super steep segment. In that scenario the motor doesn’t push at all, and if the rider is forced to stop, the restart of a decent torque takes two full crankset turns. For gravel road, if the rider is fitt is a super motor but for eMTB trails is worst than Fazua or EP8 RS that have less power but much more usable torque at lower rpm

I tested the SX on long steep hills with 16kg of luggage and then you're all on your own. Up to 3% and head winds, it's a great motor. Nobody is pedaling at 126rpm.

Thanks for the comparison, very helpful!

👍Nice test as always👏. It would be nice if you could adjust WHEN/at witch cadence you whants the peek power on the XS motor😊

A test between the SX, Fazua and TQ motor would be great if you guys can manage that! I would like to add a SX based bike to my collection as the PowerMore 250 can be used by the CX bikes too. Take the bike best suited to the trails you want to ride for the day!

Good test, i find my ep8 rs needs higher Cadence to get most out the motor but you can be Lazier and get good Support on the not so steep hill.

Were you in turbo on all motors. It seams the Shimano gives you a lot more assistance at low rpm but this would mean less range?

Yeah, highest assistance mode and tuned to maximum power output in the app. And yeah, higher assistance at low rpm means less range. We've managed to drain the 750 Wh battery on an EP801 bike in 40 km! 😲

@@EMTBVideos I'm interested in a bike with the EP801 and the 750Wh battery - do you have any experience of how far you can get approx. with the eco mode in the app? Thank you!

Interesting would be to see the time difference when pedaling at the same cadence and same power. Thats what you will see, when riding up the hill to the next downhill track. And, how is the downhill performance of the lighter weight bike?
